I totally expected the voice over to say: "From here on out ... call me Doctor McCoy. I didn't get 4 PHDs at Mutant University to simply be called mister!" 🤣
I’m good with the tiny beakers for his big hands. Beakers are standard sized and Hank has to make do with his affliction and be a great scientist despite also being trapped in the Beast form.
If you use the wrong size, you might burn or evaporate your mixture too quickly and mess up your experiment, that’s one of the core tenets of chemistry - every experiment always provides a list of materials and equipment sizes.

I don't properly collect Marvel Legends, I just buy the odd few that I really like and this is one I really want. I enjoy your awesome enthusiastic videos. Well done! I'm still holding out for a ultimate Wolverine figure.
If buying the odd few Marvel Legends figures is right for you, then that is your proper way to collect. I tend to stick to the comic book figures, and any MCU ones I might have to get for a BAF part, I just giveaway to my nephew or my neighbour's kid.. And that is proper for me. :)
I would love for them to do a blue Retro Beast with that classic 60s-70s head sculpt that the Gray Beast came with, because that classic look version of the Beast became blue for the majority of the time before Jim Lee's version came about.
Rather chintzy of Hasbro to not give Beast 1) glasses that fit (aren't long enough to even appear like they'd go around his ears) and 2) bottles that would actually fit his hands. The Lab coat is nice though.

@@micklestapler4 I barely captured the English language, these stubborn difficulties prevent me from learning others. Japanese would cause this nut of mine to explode.
A quick easy fix for the lab coat would be to just insert a bendable wire in the collar and the front and it should do wonders . I'm gonna be getting this guy soon and can't wait . Great review Dave your enthusiasm is infectious 😄

I recently purchased the Retro carded Grey Beast version of this figure, So now I have the more feral looking gray version and this more refined proper blue "Dr. Hank McCoy" version in his very smart looking labcoat. Best of both worlds in my opinion 👏😀

That grey version is my favorite. I think he has the best overall paint job of any of them. But I'm excited to get this guy for the new head.

Just got a notification that my Beast arrived!
Waiting for my to get here from Big Bad Toys. A little context for those who have a Grey Beast -- hang on to him. The Grey Beast was pre X-Factor and could be used for an early '70s beast if Hasbro rereleases the early costumes. I am hoping to see Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Beast, and Angel in their X-Terminators uniforms to mix with my post Krakoa X-men set.

What you said about losing the glasses was very funny, I recently lost one of the amazing fantasy spidey's web wings and I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'm not finding that thing anytime soon.
Love this figure picked him up at London comic con. So great to have a beast in my Collection. Will definitely be in my figures of the year top 10. Great review as always Dave.

Having the original Beast, when Anthony's Customs did a limited run on heads I jumped on that, man he did his thing them too. With optional glasses and book. As "good" as this one is, head wise. I'd say find a better customizer and truly support the community.... unless you missed out on Caliban baf Beast, then this is a BEAST of a figure to get!!

So glad they redid Beast. As someone who got into collectin long after the original Beast release, I'm so happy to finally be getting one. Such a beloved character and now accessible to collectors again
All I know about this figure is we got cloth good. People charge $10 or more for cloth goods.

Man I hate soft goods, they look so cheap. I really wish that coat was sculpted like Reed Richards. Getting him anyway, but really hate that the majority are calling for soft goods.
wouldn't say perfect just yet, it still has pins, but it is a great figure compared with the last one.

i wish i can get this but i custom painted my gray paint one too blue there videos off people modding it so i saved 50$ on one . this beast is 50 or 40 on amazon my lord
I bought the first beast the week before this one was announced... i then sold it quick AF because I wanted THIS ONE! THIS is the beast i want. I can have a white coat party with mr Fantastic and Lizard
This is why I’m okay with most re-releases, no way I’m paying $150+ for a $20 retail figure. That original beast was wayyy too hard to get

There's something about scientist charatcers in Marvel I just really like. I was tempted to get the new retro Lizard at a local Action Figure convention but the price was too steep. $60!!!
When I purchased the custom bespectacled head for the Caliban BAF wave Beast; I really felt it completed it. If they would have gone pinless joints; I would've forsaken it's nostalgic packaging, but as it is, I much prefer keep it in box for display.

Not that big fan of beast but I love this figure. It's 100% good upgrade of previous one. Only thing that bothers me are the glasses. They won't balance on mine. And Those additional accessories are really cool. Shame he doesn't have two fists but it's not a big problem. And I like paint on this one much better. The previous one shades on the fur was too dark IMO. Really gold figure I really like it. 8/10 for me.
I’m gonna have to glue those glasses too. I dropped one of my Wolverine claws months ago and It has blipped from existence

I have the gremlin flasher figure the one that comes with smokes. Well I have everything in a gas case and he feel over of course well the cigarette is beyond missing and I don't know how.

I missed the earlier Beast release... And then the prices for him rocketed, so this is a very welcome addition (still have my Toybiz version - and he's still cool).
The lack of paint apps on this new guy's fur aren't an issue for me, as I can easily touch them up with some strategic dry-brushing; and with reference to the lab flasks... If you're in the super-hero/villain game, you should know that mostly everything around you is going to get trashed at some point... No reason then to splash put on expensive custom-made equipment, when you can get the standard sizes more cheaply... lol. ;)

I think that the bottles not fitting works well because in universe they are designed for normal hands and beast is bigger than normal people

Good news, my Xesray Female Gladiators have supposidly shipped, so hopefully I will have those soon. Also got Sgt. Slaughter, Stalker, He-Ro, and Sun Man in. Also Moon Knight, War Machine, and Death Robot. So, stuff I paid for last month at least cleared. Next month is Christmas so I will be cutting back. I have 3 grandbabies to spoil as you know. Little Grandson is only going to be 14 months, so he still barely has a face. I have some extra Figures so he'll be set for at least 4 years before I even have to buy anything. LOL. Little Norah, who turns 7 this month, also likes Action Figures! I even gave her a Black Panther Figure and she loved it.
Interestingly I had the blue Beast on my eBay cart for ages always around $60 mark - which dropped to around $20 as soon as the new one was announced so yeah I got the old one as soon as I could.
Will possibly get the new one as well kitbash them both then sell the 'lesser' one 😎
But yeah definitely if you wanna save some $$ go for the old one and it will possibly be cheaper than the new one - and you still got a very very good figure 😃

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour My opinion(not fact). I think Marvel legends deserves a little more credit than a “Mixed Bag.” Legends got most of us here into collecting. We all have a collection more expansive than any other toyline, we continue to get continual updates on figures. We just got galactus. These are no small accomplishments. Marvel legends also revolutionized how companies interact with the fans. No one was meeting with toy reviewers before Dwight Dan and Ryan started to meet with the people. (Glad you got to meet Dan. You totally earned that)
My point is even with the frustrations, what the legends team has been able to pull off is historically impressive. And sometimes we all as collectors take that all for granted.
I'm continually disappointed I didn't pick up the retro card Doom when he was on clearance. Beast needs some books for those hands.

Wanted this guy so bad!! But he’s just a little too expensive to me. New Head is legit 10 times better than the original head. A real shame he didn’t come with more new hands. The ones he has are very limiting in what you can do.
