My favourite is the dark beast. Eventhough he is not as powerful as the classic 616 universe beast he certainly more savage than him.

Hes a cool figure but i prefer the original, hes just a more likeable character and has slightly better articulation

My favourite Beast is the grey Beast because technically he's an Avengers Beast because Beasts first Avengers appearance was in avengers #136 and he is featured as blue on the cover but he is grey throughout the entire book.

My favorite Beast is Blue beast because he is in the 90's x-men cartoon and he is the beat I know the most.
This is such a great figure. It's not often that we see so many relevant assories (especially non combat related ones), unique sculpts, this much colour detail, or a character like Beast being accurately larger than most 6 inch bodies being sold at the regular price point. Not only that, but his happy head is legitimately remencant of the 90's cartoon without being a mask. It's kind of a shame that we didn't get all of the things like the heads and book with the blue release, but at least gray is a pretty neutral colour, and he does have the blue tights so for shelf presence it's not like he's red/green or something.
Thank you for showing so many comparisons with him both standing and crouching. Someone has this for sale locally, and given his height/bulk (not to mention the agile posable nature) it might even work alright with my 7 inch scale Marvel Selects.
i know this is probably the most basic answer in the history of ever, but Jim Lee's interpretation of beast is just absolutely amazing. From the wolverine-esk hair to the beady white eyes and the fangs sticking out.. he just looks like an absolute badass!
Oh Defenatly the first appearance of beast x men number 1 1963. It was my dads dads comic and he gave it to me as a hand me down.

I was SOOOO lucky that I found the Caliban wave Beast in stores. I took him out the box to play with for a couple days, but put him back in the box & in a box protector. I see him going for $60 on eBay already!
that book accessory looks AMAZING.
My favorite thing about the packaging for the retro figures is they use the same layouts and same size cards but the figs are bigger so the bubble covers up some of the logos and names. It's entirely possible they did it as a cost-saving measure but it feels like a really neat, fun little touch.

I agree with all points on this figure and about that packaging man oh man it brings back memories of my childhood when I lived in the states (1995-1999) and you would go to kay bee toys and find alot of those x men figures.
My favorite beast is the one shown in the amazing x men t.v animated series , I am pretty sure its the jim lee era Beast.

My favorite Beast is from the X-Men 90's Animated Series, the chill and happy face one. That's the Beast I grew up with, never had the chance to read the comics when I was a kid lol.
This is why you're my favorite toy reviewer man! Giving back to the people! Mad respect! It's a toss up for me on my favorite version of beast; but I think I have to go either Dark Beast because of Age of Apocalypse and Uncanny X-Force (Dark Angel Saga) or Cat/Puma head 2nd mutation beast from new x-men (Grant Morrison & Frank Quitely). Also special shout out to Kelsey Grammer as Beast in X- Men last stand lol. Needless to say I'm a big Beast fan I love the idea he could kick your ass and rip your face off but instead he's gonna be super genius scientist.
Your pose of him reading the book was the best use of his new accessories. Love it

I really like the beast from back when he was hanging out with the Avengers, in the late 70's. It was awesome when he made appearances in the X-men comics during that era as well

I agree they should've gave him the feral head but with the yellow eyes like he did in the comics. Great figure, great review. He might not have had the yellow eyes when he was grey but I know for sure he did when he was blue.
My favorite is the young beast from when the original x-men came to the future a few years back I just think that it’s a really cool concept to have the young character in the same time as an older version of himself

You're thinking of the animated series that came out in '92. There was only one episode of a failed X-Men cartoon in the 80's (89'), but Beast didn't appear in it.

Like many others I grew up with the animated series Beast. I think it would be cool if we could see a version with his lab coat, it's an easy way to give people this new head sculpt in blue.

Yeah, my favourite version of Beast is when he was in the Avengers, because that was my first introduction of Beasr. Also he was whacky, but also really cool, had a great personality, and oh man, I could buy any comic book of Beast and Wonder Man hanging out. This is my most iconic duo in comic books. And also that run of Avengers was and still is my favourite one.
Great video as always wade! My favorite beast is probably this beast. And by that i mean "Avengers" beast. Even though he should be blue, i love the civilized head and the fact that they made him grey to acknowledge that he did start out as grey. i love when comics acknowledge retcons as part of a character and work them into the backstory, like grey hulk, or daredevils yellow costume, or captain America's shield shaped shield (speaking of which, we really need a first appearance Cap on that alex Ross buck)
I wonder if theres some way for hasbro to use this buck to give us a hairless beast (i love that version of him too)

Great review UU! Even though I haven't read many comics when he was grey I feel like this version would be perfect on a smaller body. Still looking forward to picking him up though. Speaking of packaging I really hope they have plans to re-release the brown/yellow Wolvie on these cards. I'd definitely get one of those to keep mib. That was the true start of the ToyBiz X-Men era. The Blue Beast from The X-Men Animated Series and the comics because I grew up watching both. I did remember in the older comics he wasn't all furry but still acrobatic and intelligent.

I know you're into the Marvel Universe line (never got any), but I'd always look at em. And when I came across their grey Beast , that one really stood out to me for whatever reason. The perfect example of what an angry/serious expression should've looked like with this figure.

My favorite Beast is Beast from the Joss Whedon/John Cassady Astonishing X-Men. I love the way Cassaday draws the cat-face/paws version of Hank, and the way Joss Whedon writes him is great. You read his Beast and you can tell when he was writing Giles on Buffy, he was warming up to write a real smart kinda surly Hank McCoy who'd whoop your ass if he needed to.
Jim Lee’s beast is my favorite beast. He’s the beast that always comes to mind whenever someone mentions him.
