Have you ever watched any of the tv show based off the series? The Crow Stairway to Heaven staring Mark Dacascos as Eric Draven. It's pure 90s cheese at times but it does have some decent episodes and some interesting lore. They introduce evil versions of the crow which if i remember have snakes instead of crows (haven't seen it in like 15 years). It's pure case of the week stuff though. But crazy they got a tv show made and can't get a remake yet but the film doesn't really need to be remade. A straight adaptation of the comic might be interesting as it is much darker story than the original.

I have only seen City of Angels after the OG Crow and thought it came apart at the end and when I saw name name of the screen writer name "David S. Goyer" I was not shocked. He wrote the original Blade and while I loved the movie, it came apart as well at the end with a gimmick. He cannot end a movie.
Your list was the same as mine. And to be honest I can't even remember if I even got thru all of wicked prayer and city of angels. The cast of salvation was the best part I agree and Lewis Creed slipping in there too

I liked both wicked prayer and city of angels. Wicked prayer did get goofy, I still really liked. City of angels was not boring to me at all. City of angels had a day of the dead theme which I found cool. I like wicked prayer because it had an Native American angle I liked. Probably the most threatening villain in the story although cheesy.

It almost seems like youve found Redeemable qualities in each sequel. Admitting that zero of them were of the same caliber as the OG or Comic/s. But enjoyable to a degree even if that enjoyment is in how bad they are. But I've been in the corner of Salvation from the moment I saw it when I was 14. And I still love it now. Eric Mabius seemed like he was just having so much fun with that role. I loved the aesthetic of City of Angels. Wicked Prayer tried to be a Tarantino/Rodriguez spin on the original story. It failed at that but the scene chewing from Boreanez was fun. And I'll always love Ed Furlong. Detroit Rock City is in my top five comedies of all time.
While I enjoy wicked prayer mainly cause I grew up with that one. It was the first one I saw and let's be fair David Boreanaz was in it and at the time I was Buffy obsessed, so it was a favorite and since watching the others. I can say wicked prayer sucks but I still have a soft spot for it. But my over all favorite is salvation. I love the dark tone it takes. It was a good crow movie. The original hurts my heart to watch anymore given what happened to Brandon.
The Crow 2 was such a wasted opportunity. JoBlo has a great 'WTF Happened to this movie' for it that really brings to light what the original plan was.

Hey cody The Crow Salvation has a spainish blu ray import, i picked it up recently it says it's region free but i Can't confirm it because i have not watched it yet, I'm trying to get all 4 on blu ray. Pick up a Region free player if you don't own one yet it's definitely worth it.

completely agree with your ranking. is any one familiar with the actual story of the crow how the original was supposed to go. eric was meant to be cursed to walk the earth after breaking some rules put in place and saving sarah (the rules were placed by a skeleton thing that looks like ghost rider tbh). that would of lead into the 2 sequals. unfortunately plans changed when brandon tragically died RIP, the franchise was than ruined by the god awful sequels (although 3 was tolerable.)
"Eric Mabius was no Brandon Lee" I'll never forget this comment. That's why Eric was worth a shot. He wasn't trying to be a Brandon Lee Clone. Same goes for Salvation as a whole. Why try to imitate what the original already did perfectly? Do your own thing. Have your own identity. Maybe you'll be worth a shot, maybe you wont. But at least you wont be just another diminished return.
The Crow was a comic book movie. A great comic book movie, but a comic book movie nevertheless. However the things which made it great - Alex Proyas direction, the moody cinematography, Grahame Revell's score, Brandon Lee's performance, the expertly executed action scenes and some genuinely memorable villians - are almost entirely missing from the sequels. Which is why they universally suck.

Honestly the same rankings with similar reasons. Wicked Prayer was a poorly done joke of a movie. City of Angels became a movie too similar to the original hurts it a lot. I still liked some scenes from it personally. Salvation was hands down the best sequel. I was even surprised how well made this direct to video sequel truly was. There's zero question the original gets the top spot. I would even say it's one of the finest comic book movies from the 90s as well as ever made period.
Salvation is my all time favorite because of the fact that it took place after the TV movie and show where Shelly messed with the timelines and they took the short story from the book where a good cop was killed and brought back and spent the night in the police station just touching objects belonging to dirty cops on the force they took that short story and turned it to this horror comedy with Kristen dunst and the guy from justified and omfg that scene where Eric goes your up kills me every time the TV movie because they took the Brandon lee movie and elevated it and made it better and took Brandon lees child hood friend who spent a lot of time with Bruce and Brandon before they both died and had the other marc playing the Ernie Hudson character and Sarah darla fun boy tin tin T-bird all cast perfectly Shelly killed it in stairway to heaven movie and show then of course the Brandon lee movie is right below those 2 and all the trailers for the bill movie says it’s in the shows universe after Shelly left heaven and wicked prayer has the best over all cast and I understood what they were attempting but it didn’t deliver and did better then city of angels and I won’t comment on the dumpster fire of city of angels but I love them all

As a mid-teen, I went to see, The Crow, 4 times in the theaters. Since then, it has remained one of my all time faves. Everything after that was crap and just doesn't count, in my humble opinion.

As a mid-teen, I went to see, The Crow, 4 times in the theaters. Since then, it has remained one of my all time faves. Everything after that was crap and just doesn't count, in my humble opinion.
Yeah I’m big fan of the Tom Jane punisher as well, love that movie. Think stopped city of angels before his characters death cause got so bored of the movie 😂

I love The Crow. The first movie is special to me personally. It reminds me of a part of my life i miss every day.
And The crow wicked prayer is the WORST movie i have ever seen. Its like a spit on the franchise. A complete waste of time/money.
