It's just surprising they didn't even make your top 10 list considering how many vids you've made about those franchises in the past.

Would people rather his list be predictable? I like not knowing what he’s going to pick. I’ve never seen Phantasm so it makes me think maybe I should see it. I’ve never thought of a top 10 Of this. But the Conjuring would be my number 1. I just love those movies. Wrong Turn would be in the top 5. And Halloween top 5 as well only because of Rob Zombie’s version. So I guess if I did a top 5 it would be:

I have always respected your opinion Cody. While I myself find Halloween '78 to be one of the best that doesn't by any means make the franchise #1. One or 2 good films out of, what are at now 11 doesn't make the greatest franchise of all time. Cody you are a Class Act and you make our horror community that much better. Sorry about he who must not be named I had no Idea he was so narrow minded. Peace to you and your family!!

Glad I found your channel. I'm a big movie collector but it wasn't until recently I got into horror. A lot of that is do to you and Drumdum. I really like how you don't bow down to nostalgia.
Top 5 Horror Franchises for me:
5. Saw. I love every Saw movie except Saw 7. Its such an incredibly fun series with such an interesting and interwoven plot that I love every time. Never gets old. Ill take whatever this franchise throws my way.
4. George Romero’s Dead Series. Literally a perfect trilogy of zombie films with a decent fourth entry, Land of the Dead. Love the growth in scale of the zombie apocalypse over the course of these groundbreaking movies.
3. Alien. First two films are masterpieces. I love the games, comics, even AvP 1 and Alien Covenant!
2. Halloween. I was surprised to find myself enjoying most movies in this franchise. Thought Id hate everything adter 3 but even the worst films sre better than the mid tier Friday movies.
1. Evil Dead. This franchise has no low points. I dont just enjoy, but I love every piece of Evil Dead content out there. Cant get enough. So consistently good!

Pretty refreshing list to see, like not many lists would have stuff like the collection on it and would have Halloween, Friday etc. But Cody as always its nice to see your no s**t approach and just saying it how you feel and giving a list that doesn't come across as a carbon copy of others. I honestly never would have checked out the Collector or the Collection if I hadn't come across your channel a few months back and I ended up enjoying both.

Nightmare and Halloween for me are tied.
I feel as though the Evil Dead franchise has been the most consistent high quality series. That includes Ash vs Evil Dead and I’m guessing Evil Dead Rise will rock out.
I like your list. I like how you didn't go the typical horror movie route of Michael Myers, Jason and Freddy Kruger and instead explored less known series like The Bone Collector and underappreciated horror frashise like the Final Destination movies and Blade movies.
Child’s play 3 is a favorite of mine too and it was the first Chucky movie I saw too! I found that quite interesting that we have that in common. Love your channel! Been watching for about 2 to 3 years now. You rock!!

Nightmare On Elm Street is my favorite series of all time.
I don't mind 5 it's not perfect but I try to forget about the abortion that came out in 2010 lol

Childs Play #1 for me then Friday the 13th. The Final Destination franchise doesn’t get talked about enough and it has the best kills of any of them
I always hated how the kills treat humans like they have no bones what so ever
The best parts of a Final Destination movie are all the fakeouts though 😂 Like there'll be so much potential danger: knives everywhere, something's on fire etc.. but they survive all of these only to be killed by something small, and ludicrously avoidable 😂😂

Hey Cody, loved listening to your perspective and personal takes. What were some reasons Halloween didn’t make it in your top 10? That’s my personal favorite so I’m really interested in hearing your perspective.
I have a bad history with the franchise/fans so I'm extremely burnt out and calloused to the series. On a more objective note the quality is all over the place and its redundant as hell.

I love the idea of someone having a premonition and they try and stop their premonition from happening but no avail and they save several people in the process. I love that death itself is the killer and coming back for the survivors dude lets chat about these movies

I highly recommend Robert’s Bloch’s Psycho 2 novel (if you can find it). Very different from the movie sequels. Disappointed that you didn’t mention Bates Motel series as you did with the Hannibal series.

Thank you!!! It's about time The Tall Man and the Phantasm franchise got some love and recognition! It's my personal favorite horror franchise...and then you said 'Nightmare on Elm Street' at #2, I nearly stood up and shouted again. Those are my two all-time favorite horror franchises. I'm also a huge Hellraiser fan, which sadly wasn't on your list, but that's ok. I'm just glad Phantasm made the cut. :)

@@jordansweet8054 well it was an episode that never made the light of day until the script was passed down and turned into a film and became what it was. It’s no longer related to the series, just in the writing stage it was lol

That'd be like putting Empire Strikes Back as #1 on Top 10 Sequels Better than their Originals. Too cliche. Plus, I actually think there's better ones than Halloween. All the different timelines don't really work in its favor.

@@TheTonyahawk Cody, the rest of Autopstream and a few others got fed up with KillerFlicks (a Facebook Horror Group) because most people in that group just talk constantly about Halloween (when theres thousnads of other horror movies) and they can not take ANY critisism toward the franchise; Cody got a rediculous amount of hate from the fanbase for his review of Halloween 2018 and a couple of his other Halloween reviews because he didn't just blow on them like other horror reviewers have so Halloween has been tainted for him and the Autopstream. They all had a falling out with the owner of KillerFlicks too, but no one but them know the full details about that.

Love your list, Cody. Hard to count how many times you say "awesome"
To me the best one would probably be Saw, mainly for its consistency in its gory approach to mystery cop thrillers. I loved the original trilogy, 4-7 were fun, Jigsaw was pointless, but I still love them all for their ability to keep on building one same continuity. Rewatching this films never gets old because that attention to detail is always impressive. Knowing where everything leads to after the first movie actually enhances even the lesser sequels.
What makes the franchise even more fun? Watching it with someone who is just encountering the films. Their reactions only add to my appreciations of the films on a writing standpoint.

#4 - Child's play (Combines comedy with horror perfectly, incredible franchise)
#3 - Halloween (Suspenseful and interesting movies, badass killer and the movie that popularised the slasher genre)
#2 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (Phenomenal concept in my opinion, having a killer murdering people in their dreams)
#1 - Scream (First movie I ever watched was scream 3 and I instantly became a horror fan. Awesome characters, awesome killer, unique concept and high quality movies. Awesome franchise, I hope it stays this way!)
Also, rest in peace to Wes Craven, one of the greatest horror movie director ever. Thank you for your creations, Wes.
My good Sir the Hannibal television show was on network NBC it has since shown up on streaming services but yeah NBC had no idea what they were getting into.
Don’t know if you can really count the “Collector” movies because there isn’t enough yet but damn those are like the best 1,2 punch for horror movies to me, so good.

A lot of people consider the Alien franchise to be science fiction instead of horror, kinda like they do with the Terminator franchise.
