    I bought the MoshCity a few days ago on a clearance sale and absolutely love it. This is a 1st gen bike and it doesn't work with Serial 1's new cloud based app so my LBS was blowing them out. I really didn't care about their app as I have two Specialized ebikes, a Vado SL and a Levo Comp Carbon SL that use the Mission Control app if I want to track my stats. This bike is a cruiser and the single speed gates drive makes it stealthy and virtually maintenance free. I highly recommend this ride. 👍

    So how do you change your chosen cadence level on the Rush models ? On Specialized Vado's you can do it on the fly while riding with a push of a button on the handlebar. Would like to know about that on this one as they may be more available than Specialized right now.

    I like the bike, and it looks slick! My jobs is a mile down the road from me. So I am looking for a e-bike that can: 1: Handle my equipment, 2: handle extremely bumpy train tracks, 3: Handle some lose gravel (my driveway), 4: Go a long distance if I want to take it out.
    I love that is has an atc, but I would love to see some fatter tires, shocks, and ability to buy front and rear basket, an extra battery, cell phone holder, and parts.
    The biggest reason why I want an E-bike is because I am wanting to save on gas, and wear and tear on my car. Short distances are a killer for vehicles. So I could potentially save a lot money in that sense.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are quite a few fat tire ebikes that could fit exactly what you are looking for. The Aventon Aventure.2 immediately jumps to mind. Or maybe even a cargo ebike if you are in the market for a almost complete car replacement.

    I believe the auto shifting feature will be prevalent in many ebikes going forward. I loved it on the Specialized Vado 5.0. I don't like the looks of that battery sticking out on the bottom and this bike has no front suspension. Thats a win for Specialized imo at about the same price. Still this looks like a close 2nd place to me.

    No mention of the gear ratio on the Mosh City? What are the sprocket sizes? Can maintain 20mph?

    • @frizzen
      @frizzen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found my answer: 50T front, 22T rear. 27.5" * 50T / 22T = 62.5" gear. That's only good for cruising upto about 15mph. Pathetic. Ride1UP Roadster V2 uses 27"*64T/20T = 85" - that's the kind of gearing this needs.

    • @eliwol3789
      @eliwol3789 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t want a moped, but I appreciate the throttle option if I choose not to pedal. This bike has pedal assist, which is cool for some, but for my needs I like having the throttle option as most US bikes have it. A lot of people who get these type of Ebikes find themselves dissatisfied and trying to retrofit a throttle option later, and it’s probably one of the reasons the Serial 1 did not have great sales. I still think it’s a cool bike as long as you’re not in an area with a lot of hills. Before you buy it see if you can get a demo, you will see what I mean about the hills.

    • @imawesomekbye
      @imawesomekbye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eliwol3789 not many mid drive bikes will have a throttle due to the nature of how they operate . One of the few mid drives that does have throttle capability is the bafang mid drive. Mid drives assist at the crank, so inherently making one throttle assist is well, a dangerous endeavor on itself. If the throttle sticks and the crank sticks and keeps spinning, good bye ankles. I am sure there is solutions that could be implemented. But generally the cost factor involved, the trying to keep compliant with international ebike regulations and the safety aspect keeps major players from dipping their toes into mid drive with throttle.
      So if they were to go throttle, the most likely scenario would be going to hub drive. It’s going to be a real tough sell at the 4000$ + price point putting a Bafang mid drive on a bike and even thought sell putting a bafang hub drive one a bike. European standards dictate ebikes are limited to 250w, you are not going to get 90nm of torque on a hub drive. Most 750w hub motors are only pushing 60nm of torque. Way above European legal standards.

    I’ll keep my eye out on serial 1, and hope it becomes available outside the HD dealerships in Canada, maybe Best Buy ca, I had a price worked out with an HD dealership, all inclusive and was excite to purchase, I informed I wanted to order and have shipped, typical with Ebike, do the assembly myself, they insisted on assembling (and charge $ of course ) , I expressed I didn’t want the bike assembled and shipped, didn’t make sense, I expressed this is out of the norm within the Ebike industry, the sales person said we’re Harley, they got backed to me later and said I was out of the free shipping Zone, that I could request a custom quote for the “assembled” unit to be shipped, I told them there’s many options to premium Ebike that offer simple “ADD TO CART” free shipping , with option to assemble myself, typical dealership headache, turned me off from an Ebike I really wanted , waste of days of research and negotiations, edit, my all inclusive deal over a 6 hour period become plus documentation, plus assembly, plus “custom” delivery, forget it !

      Suspension on a bicycle will rob you of power, especially with hills. Fine on an off road bike but not a road bike, fat tires will also increase resistance, again less power to move. First, there are the people who can't accept anything selling for more than 1/4 the asking price. They don't want to understand price differences between quality components vs cheap look-a-likes: cheapskates. And then, there is the negative influence of those who listen to motorcyclists of other brands who relentlessly bad-mouth H-D motorcycles, and will denigrate anything having to do with H-D, case-closed. Both groups will likely refuse to open their minds (until, maybe, the positive reviews of these new bicycles are more widely published).

      They promised backwards compatibility with their gen 1 bikes and their new APP interface. The app was supposed to have been released in2021 but was delayed a year. They have been selling gen1 bikes at full retail since. Just a few days ago they release gen2 and announce that the app is NOT backwards compatible, essentially making the gen1 bikes obsolete and undesirable. Many people like me, just bought our gen 1’s feel betrayed by serial1 and their lies. I now have a 2 month old bike that was 6k that’s now obsolete. The parts issue speaks for itself, people wait months for even the smallest part like scuffed racks from shipping, and longer when there is faulty parts.
