Thanks for the Indepth review. I decided to go with the G14 RTX 4060 I got it for $1099.00 at BestBuy. The build quality and screen on the MSI stealth just didn't do it for me. The G14 works great for the games I play and for my use case. I feel with some minor tweaking that the G14 makes more since for me especially at the sale price I got it at. Thanks again.
This is a perfect comparision between them, someone has some graphics comparision between G14 RTX 4060 and others laptops with larger screens? They are talking about the RTX 4060, that doesn't make any difference between higher TGP.
Thanks for the super in-depth review. Was completely on the fence between these 2 specific machines. Personally, I still am since I read that there are some BIOS tweaks that you can do in the Stealth14 to boost its performance, and that a repasting to maybe KINGPIN or ThermalGrizzly could help it stand better against the G14's liquid metal. But outside of performance, I'm curious about durability of the devices. I've had the 2020 G14 and other Asus laptops and have not experienced anything major that would make me hate Asus and parts are easily found to do your own repairs. But I have 0 experience using an MSI and don't know how durable they are and the parts situation after warranty. Since I want the laptop to last at least until mid 2026.
The IPS screen on G14 looks more vibrant and clear than the IPS screen on Stealth 14 from MSI. The MSI has a sepia yellowed color. Is that due to calibration or settings?
This. I literally have them both side by side and I turned down the "night light" blue blocker strength down to 0. Helped a little. But the g14's screen is more white and punchy colors to me.
Those Nvidia drivers on the G14 are capping 100-110 instead of 125 you'd have to have rolled them back to the older graphic drivers on asus support site. Youd then see scores on gpu much closer to 11k. The 7940hs can easily pull 12k+ cpu score but that full turbo boost will ride it at 95c all day long.
The G14 RTX 4060 was thermal throttling at 87 degrees in many games even at 105-110W range, so I don't think 125W bios would improve performance in almost any games, except extremely GPU bound games where the CPU produces very little heat so the GPU could be cooled to sustain the increased wattage. But clearly, Asus/Nvidia did not actually implement 125W power here either way. Maybe 125W could be sustainable with a RTX 4080/4090 GPU since those have larger surface area for heat transfer. Not sure though unless I test one.
Okay so the MSI Stealth 14 also has a higher-tier config with an Intel Core i7-13700H. There are some stores near me that have this on sale for $1700. The G14 however is $1600. Do y'all think it's worth the extra 100 bucks for the upgraded MSI Stealth 14? Bc the Intel i7-13620H already is within 10% of the 7940HS, so for 100 bucks if I could get a potentially equal (or higher performance) machine with better colling, wouldn't that be a good idea?
It's worth it for the Stealth. I've tested several laptops in the past few months and was more impressed with the Stealth 14 and it's 90w 4060 than I was with the G14 4080 model.
If u only okay csgo this shit is way too overkill. Find a laptop with a gtx 1060 6gb and u get 300+ fps on csgo for a few hundred. This shit is for every game out
do you think itll be better to buy a stealth 14 4070 version over the rog 4060 ?? I like the asus design tho, but dunno if theres a huge difference of performance between mobile 4070 and 4060

I generally dislike live recordings and this didn't alter my perception. so much time wasted on tab hunting and incorrect settings used in test that are left to stand instead of re tested. Shopping the MSI and I did come away with some good information, but I did have some criticisms of your test. 1) speaker test, the mic used is good for vocals and not good as a field mic. You really should invest a couple hundred into one. Also your choice of songs was awful... and I am not critiquing the songs but they are absolutely horrible test songs. The first one is naturally heavily distorted and made it impossible to tell if distortion was caused by the laptop. The second song really only had 2 instruments playing, and the third was a quick vocal harmonization that might have even been autotuned. Do better. 2) You were comparing the low fps score from the overlay when in fact that score was being poisoned while you were messing with the menus and only improved during test itself. The score is not a part of the game and did not zero out when the tested started. Lastly a suggestion, I like to see the gaming performance on battery. would have been easy for you to have pulled the plug and see how far it drops.
The G14 had better performance, but if you cared to watch to the end, you would see I recommended the stealth 14 over the G14 if I had to pick between these two 4060 configs. But ultimately, if you have the money, I’d go for thr 4080/4090 G14 version since that will definitely have more performance and likely better temps at the same time.

Some did a review of the razed 14 2023 with 140 watts. The performance was the same as other gaming laptops with the same 40 series graphic cards.

It's worth it for the Stealth. I've tested several laptops in the past few months and was more impressed with the Stealth 14 and it's 90w 4060 than I was with the G14 4080 model.

I just bought the g14 ryzen 9 6900 with the rx 6900 but I thinking I made a mistake I should of got the msi stealth
