We honestly just try to appease the gluttonous engine with sacrifices of sanity & blood in hopes that it will complete our requests.

Here's a VERY obscure fact: Frog-rays from DS1 have an unique animation and attack which happens only when they get on a water source (You can lead them to one of the puddles in Darkroot). This attack is the same the New Londo jellies use, but apparently it doesn't actually apply any status effect? I wonder what other water sources the attack could work on since according to some files they were also meant to appear in the depths.

Hey, jelly finder here. Jellified's stamina reduction effect does not function in-game. The reason behind this is very funny though. The Jellified effect itself was LITERALLY copy/pasted from the leech covered, fly covered effects from DEMONS SOULS, which use an alternative (older) stamina modifying system that no longer works in DS1, but can still be set via the special effect system. This is the only used DS1 effect I've seen that uses this defunct system.

There's a few more in Dark Souls 2. Harvest Valley and Earthen Peak have toxic sludge pools/urns that can cover you in a green goop that builds up Poison, you can wash it off by rolling in water. The third DLC has snow, which reduces your stamina regen speed if you get covered by it via rolling in it.

As a man with tinnitus Dark soul has some funky audio mixing. Like why does the flying dragons roar reach less decibels than a fire bomb cracking on impact.
I always found interesting how the dark souls community took a liking to Solaire. I have nothing against him but my personal opinion about him is that he is mentally challenged, you first find him staring at the fucking sun. He goes to anor londo looking for the sun? Kinda makes sense climbing the tallest mountain. But them you find him literally in hell, in the deepest part of earth looking for the sun. And then he gets mind controlled by a bug with a flashlight. Awesome character. Idk who thought about it.
You CAN still burn off the flies in the Remake, it’s just buggy (no pun intended) and sometimes flat out refuses to work. You can fix it by quitting out.
The jailer gas was originally going to curse, which explains the colour. The prima strategy guide talks about avoiding the curse from jailers, so I guess they changed it pre-release. Apparently it was hell to deal with lol
To clarify: In the PS5 version of Demon's you can in fact burn off the bees in the Leechmonger fight. The problem is that the torches are badly bugged and more often than not they don't work. Sometimes you have to try to touch the burning corpse that's tied to the torch, sometimes even that doesn't work.
In every Dark Souls game the "Seek Guidance" miracle can spawn secret messages in specific places to give tips or clues to the player about hidden treasure and sorts. One such message in Dark Souls 1 in the left corner of Gwynevere's bed chamber reads "Try Projectile"

Limit, you missed a rare status effect! Or, rather, you DID notice this status effect, *but not the version of it that exists in Dark Souls 3!* At Firelink Shrine, one Hollow can throw Oil Urns! He's the non-aggressive one staring over a cliff. If you can aggro him and run out of his melee range, he may throw Oil Urns that reduce your Fire Absorption! The animation used is the same one for throwing firebombs, but the DS3 Oil Urn has a unique model. Check it out.
they problably tought that 4 kinds of enemies were too mcuh for the tutorial level, so they gave them a very passive AI and used one of them to showcase kicking
Did you know that the hollow facing the cliff outside of firelink in ds3 can throw oil at you if you don't kill/throw him over the edge. He is the only enemy in the game I believe that can do that.

limit maybe something you could investigate are the few enemies in DS2 (SotFS) that have infinite stamina. for example, on the platform where you first encounter the Pursuer, there are hollows that can run and attack literally forever. there are a couple more places around where there are hollows like this, such as when you enter the ballista room, and the ambush on the large sword. I also suspect that it's possible that when the game knows you have souls to collect in a bloodstain, that it may increase the aggressiveness of some enemies. this is hard or impossible to confirm though. but there is definitely something going on with aggressiveness or even stamina regen to buff certain enemies, particularly in DS2 SotFS.

Yo I just realized how brilliant the Jailer Gas vs Laser vision thing is: Its the inverse of the Basilisks. Basilisks famously being creatures that can turn you to stone with the gaze from their eyes, but in dark souls its actually the gas they emit that petrifies you and lowers your max hp value. But the jailers are the opposite, you think its the gas they release, but its actually their gaze that lowers your max HP value. What a fun little symmetry.

Actually, the Oil has a unique mechanic.
You can walk on water and standing the outside of Drangleic Castle enables you to fly.

The Kalameet ear piercing noise with it's calamity grab attack was always jarring, which is why he is one of my favorite dragons in From's games.

So in demons souls every damaging status effect (plague, poison, leaches) reduces your healing by half, not just the leaches.
