there's no code here. Just physics. Continuous spans have negative moments near de columns and positive moments in the center of the span. So you make the splices where the moment is at its minimum. In columns is preferable to make splices in the middle to avoid some problems of ductility in the nodes. In cantilevers, there is just negative moment, so it's the same idea. I need to say that high ductility members have some special requirements, so you cannot make splices near de nodes, because you need to make sure that the failure mechanism is to form hinges first on beams. ACI 318 have this requirements.
Just want to ask a Question it is allowed to splice near support? SMRF says that no splice with in 2h region,,, tama ba?
