      Yah I no longer shop Poshmark. I find eBay has much more robust protections for the buyer and actually listens when you say an item is fake.

    Great tips . I’m so afraid to buy luxury items in eBay. I bought fake Tiffany necklace and I didn’t know what to do that time. It was found out 6 months later. After that experience, I never buy any luxury item from there. Thank You so much for sharing darling ❤️

      I have never bought jewelry from eBay but I can see that being a problem. I always try to authenticate the item the same day I get it just so I am covered by ebays protections! Thank you for watching!

    Yes! I really don’t like trying to sell on Ebay but as a buyer they have a lot of policies to protect you. They have come a long way since the early 2000s when it was more fakes.

    Amazing video! To your point of seeing what other and how many other luxury goods a seller has listed, would it cause you concern if they only have one luxury bag listed and the rest of the listings are mid range brands? I am interested in a bag and all of the other tips you mentioned checked out (ie. Long time eBay seller, 100% feedback, etc...) but the bag I am interested in is the sellers only luxury listing. I just wondered your thoughts. Thanks so much! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

      As long as your smart about it I think j the risk isn’t too bad. Like always buy from bigger sellers (I never buy from individual sellers) and authenticate the item as soon as you get it with an authentication service. If it isn’t authentic start a return immediately.

    Fabulous video. Thank you for creating it. And what a beautiful bag! I have great faith in the Japanese system, though it is a good idea to authenticate when it arrives. Recently, I bought a Dior Trotter (I think that is the name of it) with the canvas pattern. When it arrived, so many things were happening that I stashed it in a cupboard and forgot about it! Now, months later, I am anxiously waiting for an authentication report back. The thing that worries me is that it does not have a date stamp on it, but perhaps that only started when LV took over Dior. I will see what they say. It was not an impossibly expensive bag, thankfully. So if I lose some money, I lose some money. (It is too late now to take action.) Thank you for the video!

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have also made the same mistake before- buying a bag and forgetting and then having to get it authenticated! You maybe okay because I do have an older Dior trotter pieces that doesn’t have an date code or code on it. I hope it all turns out okay!

    Hi Sam, how is the wear & tear on this Beige Chanel? I am eyeing a similar bag on eBay at the moment and worried about colour transfer, it being a light coloured beige in vintage lambskin. Do you have any colour transfer on your bag? Also, the bag I’m looking at has a short chain strap which can only be worn on the shoulder. I love wearing my bags crossbody, so thinking I could send it to a bag spa to get the strap extended for crossbody wear? Would you recommend this? TIA for your advice 🙏

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s very good but for some reason this lambskin almost feels like a calfskin if that makes sense. Basically it’s the most durable vintage lambskin I have come upon and I have like 5 vintage lambskin flaps! I am not sure if it was just the year but I have worn it against jeans and navy dresses and no color transfer! Also it’s common for most of the double flaps to not have crossbody length straps. Leather surgeons can definitely length the strap for you. I send all my Chanel to them 😊

    • @jamelsydney2737
      @jamelsydney2737 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bargain.hunting.blonde thanks Sam. This particular bag I’m looking at is single flap with large external back pocket (a must have for me for an everyday bag!) in really good condition, and the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger is short chain strap (34cm single drop) Just not sure if I will be able to get the cost per wear down if I can’t crossbody. For some reason when I wear bags on the one shoulder they all roll off....which is why I prefer crossbody 🤔

    Hi Sam!
    I have a question I hope you can help me with. I'm looking at a bag from Japanese eBay brandjfa, however it looks like the item was sold and then relisted again. Should I be concerned? I email them asking why it was returned and they said "we have not received any complaints about this item, such as it being different from the pictures" Should I proceed with the purchase? Thanks for your help!

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So here is my thinking on this
      1- it showed up on eBay as “you missed out on this item” which does not mean it sold. It just means the eBay listing expired and they had to relist the item which is why you saw it again.
      2- it was bought and returned because it did not work for whoever bought it. I believe brandjfa accepts returns so like fashionphile sometimes this just happens.
      If you like the pieces and the price is right I saw go for it!

    • @aimee3059
      @aimee3059 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Sam! It was definitely returned since they said it had previous purchasers. But like you said, I'll have to think of it like fashionphile.

    Does one have to pay customs when buying from Japanese resellers on ebay?

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how much you spend, which shipping service thing they use, and where you live. In the US anything over $800 shipped via DHL or FedEx you will pay customs on.

  • @debbieh9009
    @debbieh9009 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi! Thank you for your input. I found you when I went to search on buying on ebay from Japan. I live in California. I want to buy a LV bag from an Ebay company in Japan. Will I have to pay duties when I pick up my item from DHL or the carrier company? Is there a way around that if so? The bag is $1100 plus tax. I just want to know upfront as the cost of the bag overall will be more. The Japanese seller said she thinks I may have to pay 10 percent. Not sure if she is guessing or if she really knows. What is this charge coming from? Our government? Thanks so much!

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you will have to pay duties on any item over $800. If the sellers ships with DHL they will tell you before they deliver. If it’s FedEx the duties will be after. The fee is paid online or over the phone to the shipping company. The only way around duties is for the seller to say the item is less than what you paid for it or a gift. Most professional sellers will not do this and I do not recommend it. Duties are about 8-10%. And yes duties are something charged by the US gov and collected by the shipping companies (who also nicely charge you a fee to do this- there is no way around this fee to my knowledge.) I hope that helps!

    Beautiful bag!! I tried searching for Atlantistokyo but can’t find them. I found a few bags I’m interested in from Brandjfa but the negative reviews scared me about the bag having an odor or not being authentic. Should I worry? And how much did you pay customs? I heard there was an amount that had to be paid

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
      @bargain.hunting.blonde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They might have stopped their TH-cam shop as this is an older video! I have only had good experiences with Brandjfa. I always take reviews with a grain of salt as people normally only write reviews to complain. I have only gotten authentic goods from them and also always double authenticate. As for customs you pay customs for anything over $800 coming into the US. The amount varies by item but is around 8-10%.

    • @bargain.hunting.blonde
