Zurich is my home store! Interesting to hear that you think they have great stock like SLG. Also I didn’t realize the items cost so much less than in the US. Other EU countries are still quite a bit cheaper and you get get much higher VAT back. But since you have a Zurich address, it probably doesn’t hurt to put in a wish. :)

Good to hear that you are feeling better. Interesting to hear about the QB policy in Zurich. FYI, I was told the same in the Lyon boutique in France earlier this year. And fun fact, was able to place a wishlist there last year (not fulfilled obviously 😂). Great haul ❤
I live in Zurich and here are some points to know if you are traveling/living here....
- Non quota bags are available first come first serve, they don't play games. The best time to get one is to arrive to the store during the week between 11:00am-1:00pm since it is when the delivery trucks arrive and as soon as they receive a shipment it's available for purchase. Just arrive and directly ask if they have the model you want and if you are lucky they will offer it to you. You will never get a non-quota bag if you come late or on Saturdays and they also cannot reserve them for clients.
- With quota bags, you need to make a leather appointment with an SA (somethimes you need to wait a month to get one) and they give you an hour to play with colors, leathers, styles and make your wishlist. They want to make sure that you are sure of what you want. After that just visit here and there your SA and wait. I got a birkin 25 gold PHW in one year and with almost no pre-spend (just a Twilly and 2 scarfs).

It’s important and people often don’t take it seriously! The two people ahead of my were denied their stamp (so couldn’t get their VAT back) because they didn’t have the items on them.

I bring a tote and then put the hermes boxes in a reusable bag as my carry on 🤣🤣🤣. It also helps that I flew business so they never question the sizes of your carry on since you get your own overhead bin. My one pieces of advice is it’s okay to check boxes in luggage but do not check the actual item- I have gotten things stolen before 😫

Size wise, how does the wallet compare to the Zippy Coin, how does it accommodate bills? The thing I dislike about the Zippy Coin is that carrying paper money is a little wonky. Thanks for showing the bag, I was wondering what it looked like in real life.
It’s basically the same size as the zippy coin! So you would have to fold bills. If you don’t want to fold bills I recommend the LV Victorine! It’s small but no bill folding. Or the Gucci Compact Wallet.

Why does customs ask people I thought use it?
The idea is supposed to be that you are buying the goods for export- hence you get the VAT (aka the tax) back on the item because you do not live in Switzerland and do not plan on using it in the country. If you use the item and you cannot really tell, I believe you would be fine but I have seen people questioned about it before.
