    Hi, a native Japanese speaker based in the US here. I think it's worth mentioning that Buyee does not guarantee authenticity and does not have a system to protect buyers from purchasing fakes. Here's what the website says: "Appraising and guaranteeing items authenticity is not part of our warehouse inspection. Therefore, any negotiations with stores to return or change your item will not be accepted, even if you have received a fake item. Also, fake brand items are not covered for compensation even under Standard Plan or Inspection Plan. We urge customers to consider and confirm the item carefully before purchasing them."
    Yes, it is illegal to sell fakes in Japan, but it is permissible for individuals to purchase fakes for personal use, for example, someone can buy fakes abroad and bring them back to Japan or websites for fakes are readily available in Japanese. As long as fakes can be used in Japan, it is safe to assume some are mixed in the preloved market.

      Thank you for pointing this out (and something I should have mentioned, that Buyee does not guarantee even if a seller might). Fakes are always a possibility of course, even with the best standards.

      @@ratititi7360 Go online and look up *How to buy preloved luxury from Japan* and you will learn all there is to know. There's a method to buying if you live outside Japan or if you live in the UK (better) or the US (you will need a UK virtual/ physical address which you can acquire) in a 2 part process in order to get items shipped to you.

    This is great, thank you! I've gotten a few luxury products from Japan through eBay (mostly buying from what used to be called I Love Kawaii, I can't remember what their new name is). I've always had really good experiences with those sellers, so I'm excited to find a whole slew of other sellers.

    The hunt makes this even more fun! I lived in Japan for a few years and can access the Japanese sites without issues. I’ve just been getting into the luxury bag market and searching beyond the typical sites in the US makes it that much more fun to search! Thank you for this information, the Japanese definitely do tend to take care of the items much better and are strict when it comes to authentication and quality control.

    Great video! The prices are a bit better but then when you add the customs and taxes on items over $800 it adds up. I think for slgs this is a great option. That Donald Gucci tote is really cute and love the panda agenda💗 My concern is customer service as a foreigner. At least I can call fashionphile or rebag if something happens. So many things can go wrong with purchasing luxury. I would be too concerned as a non-Japanese speaker what could happen. Thank you for sharing and I hope to find my next SLG here 💗

    • @classicswithaquirk
      @classicswithaquirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can understand being concerned about customer service, that is definitely a risk. As for the prices, I've found it just depends on the item. Sometimes even with customs I've paid less than for an item being sold in the US 😅

    This was very helpful, but I think I‘m unfortunately still somewhat too scared and lazy to order from Japan 🙈. My husband and I would love to visit Japan (we planned to do so, before the pandemic hit) and I probably would go crazy in the luxury preloved stores there 🤩

    • @classicswithaquirk
      @classicswithaquirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, that's very fair! It can be scary to buy from a place you don't have experience with, especially if you can't speak the language. I had also planned to visit Japan and had to cancel my trip 😞 hopefully we can both go someday soon!

    thank you so much ! I love your videos . I do have a question for you. I just bought a Chanel bag on Ebay with a Japanese seller, I knew i was going to pay custom but wasnt sure how much. My question is do i pay 10% of the total( i had a coupon so the price was lower than what was listed) or do i pay the Original price ? I paid $2,743.73. Thank you so much !

    • @classicswithaquirk
      @classicswithaquirk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've bought a number of items from Japanese resellers on Ebay, and I have yet to have to pay customs as the item goes through the shipping process. Of course, everything I have bought thus far has been used/vintage and not a "precious" item like Chanel or Hermès, so that may have something to do with it..

    hello! I was looking on there and found several classic flap bags (caviar) around 400-900 usd. And they were used/like new condition. Is that normal? I feel like at that price they would be fakes....what do you think?

    • @classicswithaquirk
      @classicswithaquirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would def not trust any classic flap bag selling for under $2000, but some bags will be on auction at a low price to start and then go over $4k-$5k at the very end. That being said, just like English eBay, make sure you're looking at sellers with a lot of feedback. Even in Japan things will slip through with individual sellers, as they have a lot less to lose
