  • Poshmark: How to Source Luxury Brand Inventory at a Discount
    I'm sharing all my sourcing secrets and all the places where I source my Poshmark inventory to maximize my profits when selling online. These prices will shock you! In this video, I'll show you where I source in-season LUXURY clothing, shoes, and accessories for women, men, and kids, at HUGE discounts.
    1) Where I buy brands like Fendi, Balenciaga, Prada, Gucci, Moncler, and more - all online - and within the current season.
    2) Tips along the way on how to navigate these websites
    3) Actual items I've bought and sold plus some current deals I found, showing prices, break-even, and savings
    * This video is all about Luxury brands because they tend to sell closer to the retail price than mid-tier or fast-fashion (especially when they're within the current season).
    * In fact, some luxury items appreciate in value once they're sold out and are impossible to get (especially collaborations and limited editions- and you can find some gems like this on these sites!).
    * Luxury items from top luxury brands are easy to sell and are incredibly in demand, so they sell FAST.
    * Popular luxury brands can also drive traffic to your Poshmark closet.
    * Don't worry; the other videos/websites won't be "luxury" focused.

    Great info. I've been playing in vintage and reselling for a long time (65 yrs old) and it's amazing how many people have discovered it since the Pandemic. I moved to Europe 5 yrs ago and the low prices here are unbelievable. There is a thrift store down the street from me that gets Zaras overstock and last season items with tags still on for 70-80% less than American prices. Plus the thrift shops here are on a whole different level. Clean, orderly and look like boutiques. The reason the prices are so high the states is because the US sellers are adding on the import, tax and customs fees plus the profit margin they want.

      It isn’t… a lot of the stuff is super overpriced based off what they actually will sell for. You could pay $1000 for a Tom ford blazer but really it’s only selling for $800.. you won’t really make a profit off this stuff unless you come across those random mark downs..

    • @resellgenius
      @resellgenius  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lilly, You’re totally correct in that you have to search for the gems! It sounds like you know your brands and approx. selling value already so that gives you a huge advantage!! The thing I like most is that like 99% of the items sold on both of these websites are already cheaper than the USA (not including the further discount during their sales). So even if the retail price says $1,000, if you go to Tom Ford.com in the USA you might see it’s actually selling for $1.8k over here and then if it’s part of their sales they might mark something that’s $1,000 retail (on their site in Europe) down to $300 and there is your margin. That’s just an example off the top of my head- I don’t actually know the prices for Tom Ford cause I’ve only ever bought one Tom Ford item (gorgeous pink leather joggers 💕. But yes, since many of the brands are Designer, they are just “less overpriced” as compared to their US counterparts. I have bought lots of things from both sites and made profit on everything I’ve bought but it does take eagle-eyes and you need to be ready to jump on the deal right away (good thing is it arrives super fast, free shipping and they have free returns & return shipping) and new inventory is added everyday so those deals are popping up a lot. Many times I’ll even find something on there that is a collab and is sold out in the USA, and those end up selling for at or above USA retail. That arbitrage requires some gut instinct based on supply and the brands involved. All said, I really appreciate your comments and I think you’ll like the 2nd video in the series much better (the one I just uploaded yesterday) cause there is no doubt in my mind you’d be able to sell at a huge profit b/c the prices are super super ridiculously cheap, like Pennie’s on the Dollar - like seriously you could spend $100 and make $1000 easy! Of course you still need to find the right deals, buy the right brands, sizes etc. I hope you’ll give that video a try?
      Thanks again for the great feedback and for watching!! I’m a newbie to TH-cam & videos so I’m still learning the ropes, and figuring out what people want to see. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

      Having more different bags will give you different choices, or feelings. I used to think bags with full leather inside and outside were high-end, but now I think bags lined with cloth are better because they are lighter. *condup*

    I am new to reselling so sorry if I’m asking a dumb question, but when you buy these discounted items, how much do you resell them for? Because obviously I wouldn’t want to buy items and sell them for the same price. But what would be considered a reasonable price to resell in your opinion?

    • @resellgenius
      @resellgenius  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      hi @oliviamathew733 sorry for the late response! No question is ever dumb and I thank you for watching and asking a Q!! So, it really depends on the item and the comps etc. It really needs to make sense profit-wise and that also means deducting all of the hidden and not so hidden fees (sales tax when you buy it, shipping, the Poshmark fees, taxes on profit, any shipping materials you pay for like bubble wrap or thank you cards - and if you really want to take it to the next level, your "opportunity cost" of value of your actual time). I have a video on pricing and also a detailed article about it on resellgenius.com in the Genius Portal which is all free ofc. I recommend that one as I explain various pricing strategies and how to price. I also have a profit calculator on there too. in a nutshell, a healthy margin is 30% but that can really depend on the price of the item too.

    Love the videos...im just setting up on poshmark...i was told that if i wanted to sell a luxury item over $500 i would have to ship to poshmark facility to authenticate...is that true? Or can i just ship to customer? Thanks in advance

    • @resellgenius
      @resellgenius  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! Yes, Poshmark offers complimentary authentication by a real human for items over $500. Once you’re an ambassador 2 and have had no instances of authenticity in question, then they let you self-authenticate certain things. Every once in a while they’ll throw a random one in just to be safe. The good thing is that you ship to Poshmark first, and that gives me piece of mind as a seller just incase a buyer wants to pull something shady (like a swap-out of real for fake). It also automatically provides free shipping and that shows up on your listing which is cool!

    on Whatnott app there sellers auctioning valentino bags and sales end at $258. How can these seller afford to do that? Where do you think they are sourcing their designer bags? One lady has a NWT Coach bag and sold for $28, Where are they getting all the bags for cheap?

    • @resellgenius
      @resellgenius  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sometimes if its to good to be true, it might be faux. But they could have sourced it from a thrift shop, or some other crazy sale. I remember there was a store in NYC (and Boston) called Century 21 and I sourced there for years but they went bankrupt and closed during the pandemic :( I used to see Valentino bags there for really great prices (like the ones you mentioned) especially if they were having additional discounts. Oh, and sometimes the Coach outlet has super good deals too, but yeah that price seems a little too low to me. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I would love another one of these videos on other sites and search filter tips. I just messaged you on IG I have been looking for pallets forever now for higher end brands and I have some sources but known that I am super happy with. I am just Starting live selling and it feels like you kind of need to go that route just to have enough inventory..

      I’ll look for your DM, thanks for letting me know! Yeah you’re right. At least IMO I think you need more volume to make up for lower price points if you’re doing live. I do have a few more places I can share but TBH I’ve never bought a pallet.

    i have both real bags and H Q D U P S high quality fakes and not gona lie... you cannot tell the difference. i think even rich ladies are just sick of these chanel prices.

    • @resellgenius
      @resellgenius  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'll agree that the fakes are getting harder and harder to distinguish from the real ones, however over time is where I think you can notice a big difference as the fakes aren't made to last and won't stand the test of time. Even the really HQ ones use short-cuts like glue in some areas instead of hand-stitching, or machine-stitching instead of hand-stitching, and lower quality materials that tend to break down and show wear quickly. That said, I also agree that the costs of luxury items are really out of control. If you look at how much a Chanel bag cost in like the 2000's compared to now it's jaw-dropping! Many luxury brands are also doing things to cut costs too which is like a double-whammy. For example, all Chanel Bags used to have 24K gold-plated hardware, now they use "gold-toned metal." LV used to use sold brass locks, now they are brass-colored, gold-colored or silver-colored metal (the old ones are way heavier and can be polished to look new again). But, there are some other benefits of real such as warranties and repairs. LV will replace handles, hardware, stitching, and they even completely re-did the leather trim on one of my wallets for free (and when they do charge for repair I find the prices really reasonable). Also the ability to resell an authentic bag is one of the huge benefits. I read recently that Cristina Ricci's divorce was funded by her Chanel bag collection, LOL!
