Same here! We’re vegetarian but I don’t give my kids dairy aside from very occasional cheese in/on something and they’ve never had dairy milk, I however use things such as sour cream, cottage cheese, regular cheese, cheese cake, butter cream icing for cakes etc more often than I’d like but we as a family do not drink dairy milk.

Priyanka Sanhotra yeah same don't keep getting almond milk tho! In my opinion the sweetened oat milk tastes closest to cows milk and also I do like vanilla or chocolate soy milk too it's really good if your having it with sweet food or cereal

      Anaa Adrienne
      I've tried a couple of dairy-free milks.
Out of the few store brand ones available ,
I've found (original flavor {Rice Dream}) milk to be delicious .
*taste wise it's the closest to dairy milk
      But more like 2% milk.
Now if you want to make homemade ,
I've finally (God bless) created a recipe that taste pretty good .
      the recipe for my vegan
      "Milk" is below👇
      •2 tablespoon RAW walnuts
•sprinkle some pumpkin seeds(optional for more protein )
      •1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil
•3-4 {soft} dates (more if you want Sweeter milk)
      *i prefer medjool dates
      •2 cups water
      •(vanilla ) is optional
I added RAW cacao powder and make "chocolate milk" 👍
-blend all of the ingredients together REALLY well
-straining is not necessary but can be done if you want to make sure your milk is SUPER smooth.
I added RAW cacao powder and make "chocolate milk" 👍
*if someone doesn't have / like dates they can add raisons, honey, agave, coconut sugar , regulate cane sugar , or even cinnamon

Great! But I never bother straining my mylk. Actually thete is no much pulp to strain if properly blended. First blend with only little water to make a thick paste. The gradually add water. This makes all of the almond dissolve into the mylk.

Hey Kristina....just curious how you remove your skins...I get really raw, unpasteurized almonds ...after soaking even 24 hours..the skins are very intact and do not separate. It's my experience that if your skins pop off after 8-12 hours of soaking, they've probably been flash steamed....and are not unpasteurized. To remove skins from unpasteurized almonds....they need to be soaked more like 2 days....so I just leave my skins on. Love your videos...mom is adorable.....just wanted to remove any confusion regarding really raw almonds that are unpasteurized ( direct from farmer)!..l.and retail almonds that are labeled "raw" almonds ...but have been flash steamed....if you have a trick for removing those skins..,,please let us know!!!! I did a blog post on almonds...European raw, flash steamed, and US unpasteurized..l,and tested the soak time. I was unsuccessful removing skins...but the skins on pasteurized almonds POPPED right off after 8 hr soak.,,.thanks much!

Is there anyways we can remake the store version of lower cal (25 cal=1 cup) nut milks? More water and maybe add xanthum gum or agar agar? I'm looking for a 25-35 cal recipe for nut milk without all the calcium they add to store bought vegan milks.
I just won't drink those high cal raw nut milks anymore bc adding them in put weight on that I don't need and then cutting them out for lower cal (silk, almond breeze etc...) allowed the weight to go. So there's something to liquid calories we need to be aware of.

    • @iridologywithhayley

I can't give an exact time but I find that almond milk (particularly the fresh stuff) goes off pretty quickly. I would try to use it within 3 days.
You can tell when it is starting to turn because there will be a slight tang to it. When it's *really* off it will taste super tart and tangy and you'll have to chuck that lot out :(
      Hope this helps :)

"The Raw Boy". Has some great raw vegan (non rice) sushi variations, complete with dipping sauce. "Bobbys Raw Vegan Perspective" also displayed a great raw veg sushi variation. Sun dried Nori sheets make great wraps for our favorite combos. Personally not a fan of the cauliflower rice versions, though they do the job...

I’m way late, but a general rule of thumb is 1:4 ratio between nuts and water for blending. 1 cup of nuts for 4 cups water. Good luck.

Your mum is cool. I tried this today with almonds and macadamia nuts, strained through a nut bag and then I blitzed it with filtered water and ice, then I added frozen banana, blueberries, vanilla protein powder and powdered collagen and wow.

Andrea Cox I get what you are saying but just to throw in some critical thinking, don't you think it's possible that her daughter got her personality from her mom so perhaps she isn't the one acting like her mom? There are scientific studies that show personality can be genetically inherited or environmentally influenced (i.e. upbringing) too.
