That tired old Ford still had enough life in her to show us that things were made to last in the 50’s. Really good video with you, a 58 Ford and Pablo.
That 58 Ford you bought is the exact mate that the parents of my best buddy purchased in 1958. even to the turquoise paint but I think it was a V8. My BUDDY is now 79 years old and I am 80.
I’m in my late 60’s and remember those fords when i was a kid. I love seeing the old drum brake issues of my youth. I have gotten used to disk brakes but still keep my old drum brake tools including my cylinder hone and 2 spare sets of stones. Cant give up on the old cars till we run out of parts to repair them! Thanks for sharing this classic!
Of all the youtubers "will it run" videos , I like yours the best Brent , you don't constantly repeat the "we are gonna get this blah blah running thats been parked since 1812 and drive 50,000 miles to Antartica , its just you chillin working and having fun
When i saw the 223 six cylinder in there i knew it was going to run.the parts in the trunk was a bit concerning but as you said maybe they were planning on giving it a rebuild.great video as always.and i wish our dogs were half as cool as Pablo.
You don't see that year, make and model very often.. looks good going down the road, patina is just right. You got her limping back to life always good to see
This is what I like the most of your videos: Bringing an old car home and make it run. Always a good lafther when you make it work. Thank you from Norway!
My late Maternal Grandparents bought a Red and White 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Fordor, new, back in 1958! Grandmother drove that car until 1969, when they replaced it with a brand new White 1969 Ford Galaxie Fordor! Ford used to call two door cars "Tudor", and the four door cars "Fordor" cars. I enjoyed this episode, love seeing Pablo getting to cruise with you, Brent!
That is the fun part of doing these "will it run and drive" videos when you investigate as to what is causing a problem. It is satisfying to figure out why a part fails and fixing it as with that starter Bendix. It seems as though once you got the valve train working and the engine has been running, it seems to run pretty good. That is a good six cylinder engine from Ford. That carburetor is a Holley carburetor with the thick glass bowl where you can actually see the float level. My Dad owned a 1955 International R120 series and it had the same carburetor. I remember looking at it when I was a little kid. That and the painted red valve cover (Dad always cleaned up everything and would paint parts) got me bit with the mechanical bug, a bug I have had for years.
Brent, nice solo car rescue! Congrats! No worries re: the junk in the trunk, it's just a reminder that you probably have an LS in your stash! I had a Canadian 57 Ford 4 door V8 stick in Seattle in 1974 and it served two owners after me. In Nevada in 1971 I bought a very clean original US made Ford 4 door for $185 with a 3 speed stick and a factory T-Bird Interceptor V8, 4 barrel, dual exhausts and a near perfect original white over yellow paint scheme! Don't let the price fool you, it was a great looking and running ride! Good luck with your 58!
Hi Brent and Esther, I had a white 58 Ford 352 Interceptor engine. Mine was an automatic trany. It was quite fast but not from the line. The era of couch seats! The GMC Roadster looks great!!Very glad you got to running! As always, God bless and take care from your long-time California subscriber 🙏 🤲
That 9" rear fits under a first gen mustang perfectly--great upgrade !! Check for a metal tag on one of the bolts,it will tell you the ratio of it !! A 6-stick might have a 4-11 in it !!
Love the old cars had a 56 Fairlane when I was 17 it was a 6 cylinder 36 ,ooo miles bought from a friend cheap loved that car . This brought back memories. Thanks Brent alwas great watching you work on these old car.
I was born in '57 and my uncle had a junkyard he just had built it when I was three or four years old I worked down there all of my young life and learn lots of things I suppose you did too thanks for your videos
Love seeing Pablo go out on his rides. Brent got a question for ya... When are you going to work on "Franken-Coop" car again? Since now you have your neon green truck done, another project done here today and a brand new work shop, ya see what I mean about your "Franken-Coop" ??
I'd spray engine parts in the trunk down with fluid film (or eq.) and store 'em inside to keep the rust off. Great job on this, wish the floors were better shape, cuz I love a three on the tree w/a six popper.
Wow, this brings back memories. In school, learning to rebuild starters and generators. Some where I have a textbook on the subject. That and owning a 58 Edsel. Happy to see you get it sort of running and stopping.
Great video fond memories of the 58 Ford when I was in high school my brother had and I used to drive it great Cruiser I wish I had it today and it was a four-door it was a two-tone brown color thanks for your videos
I did not realize that the 1958 had rear fins just like the 1963 Fairlane, I think I like the taillight covers are cooler on your car. The older cars and trucks had some really good body designs. Good one!
A new project? ... and it's a Ford Fairlane? EXCELLENT. I wouldn't think this is old enough for the category you usually work on. I keep hoping you'll do a Thunderbird at some point... but a Fairlane is ALMOST as good. It'll be interesting to see what you come up with on this. I remember Andrew Dice Clay in some movie when I was a teenager... and in that movie he had a beautiful Fairlane. I think there was one in Grease too. The ultimate 30s Cruiser. This is going to be fun to watch.
I'm still looking for the build series on the Buick... is it a playlist that I'm missing? or did you make it private? I didn't find it... but maybe I'm just missing it.

Love the car! Your dog has a lot of character too. I’m sorry I haven’t been on top of everything you have going on lately but still love your videos!❤️
Brent, if you at least redo the structural frame under the camouflage rocker and breaklines it would be safe ish on the road. Maybe some matching rims and rubber. You have the skills to save it. Thanks for the content.
This is what Halfass is about, giving throwaways a second chance . . . we oldies easily relate
Brent, you are part of a lost breed. You have that "old timer" knowledge and know-how. Always enjoy your videos.
Best part Pablo going for a ride can’t beat that
I'm not sure just how many 1958 Fords are still around Brent, but I'm glad you snagged this one up. Cars back then were built solid.
Good old-school mechanical skills and determination! Great to see. Plus 21st-century tools. And a healthy store of rusty parts. What a life.
Working and Pablo is happy, as always thumbs Up 👌👍
That tired old Ford still had enough life in her to show us that things were made to last in the 50’s. Really good video with you, a 58 Ford and Pablo.
And the General!
Except that Rust-proofing was an option.

Nice to see "The General" back on duty. Thanks for sharing.
I can't think of anyone that does these better than you. Thanks for sharing.
Nice old Ford, Brent. Little TLC and she would be a keeper. 👍 Take care and stay safe.
Skill, experience, persistance, a pile of used parts and "its a running and driving car". Perfect!
it would be a perfect budget build. body work, floors, electrical, paint. would make a nice show car.
Brent I'm 68 you do things just like my dad did Great video thank you

Great video Brent!
Amazing how these old car really want to run! Always learn something when I watch your channel.
I love these will it run and drive videos, especially on the old cars.
Brent it is just great that you just laugh at all the obstacles and carry on regardless. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Brent , you are a marvel. Bing bang boom, another one lives again.
Old Fords never die. They just take a nap sometimes till someone wakes em up.
The more I see it the more I like it. Congratulations
Love the patina and color combo
Pablo is great!! Glad he got to go for a ride. :-)
Well that was fun, it ran pretty darn good in the end. Thanks Brent.
Worth considering some love. Maybe floors?

They often say what they plan to do, film doing it, and then say what they did. Brent does a good job of keepin things rollin 👍
Just good old fashioned wrenching, old school style. No BS.
Well that's your opinion. I mean mortske repairs videos are just as good if not better than this. Hell even pole barn garage videos are good
It is VERY CLEAR Pablo LOVES riding in that truck!
Sweet ride you and Pablo, glade to see the old ford drive again!
Always fun when they run
That a good video for sure and Pablo got a good ride.
Thanks!
The self bleeding feature was very funny Thanks for your seance of Humer.
Great patina. Pablo is a Ford guy after all.

You and Pablo should do a video with Mortskie and Duff that would be awesome.

Another great video ! Thanks for bringing these cars back to life and share that with us !
Love to see you do a complete refurbish on that old ford. including paint job. Steve
Brent you are the man. Getting the 58 Ford to run and drive. Nice job.
Great job, Brent - as usual. Always enjoy your “will it run/drive” videos. I think you should teach Pablo how to drive and give him the ‘58.
That's perfect music for a ride in a 58 Ford. Thanks Brent.

Amazing Brent....another one for ' runners row'....nice job.
👍🤠
Man, I hope you take that rebuild on full force. Thanks for another fun time.
You never cease to amaze me, Brent. You take some broken down old engine and summon it back to life, when most people wouldn’t dare to bother.

Very cool, nice to see some ford,s in your new shop. Great job buddy.
Cool car. Love my Fords. I think that's a Custom 300 . It has the shorter quarter panels. I had one that I fixed up and sold.😊
Love the 58 when I was growing up my mother bought a new 58 ranch wagon,I took my driving test in it. Thank you for the content

I loved your bleeding technique through the floor and those old ford 6 bangers are almost unstoppable
Great job
