I’m 68 years old and remember some of these cars when I was a child. I loved them then, and I love them even more now. They are literally artwork on wheels.
@theetravisb I remember, and keep up the great work, Travis. Those of us that have been around for a while, know how much this channel means to you and how much love and effort you put into your work. Continued blessings to you and your family
This is a compilation of 4 videos I did on this impala. From getting it running to driving it cross country to fixing it once I got home then selling it.
I've been sending you ads of similar cars for sale here in Washington State. About 1500-1800 miles northwest of you. Have you seen any you want? (Yes, I changed my channel name. No content, but great name 🤣).
See bro, that dude that pulled over to help you out, that's a legit good guy right there. Dude not only helped get you to the truck stop, but he also took you back to the car, AND stuck around to make sure you could get her fired up. Kind soul.
Travis, I owe you an apology....I've watched your videos many times before and only realized now that I hadn't yet subscribed! You are a hard working and genuine guy. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep it up!
It's cool that you let us see the good the bad and the ugly. Most people edit out those small mistakes that you let us see. Let's us know we are all human. Thanks
my cousin bought a one owner grandma's garage kept 64' Chevy Biscayne 4dr 283v8 power-glide when the car was still as new in the 70s. Less than 20k on it. The car ran silently. l still believe that was the best bang for your buck utilitarian vehicle the US auto- industry ever produced.
I've watched these so many times. Every time I do it takes me back to the mid 60's when I was around 10 and my dad was 28 and I helped him spend weekends working on his 60 Chevy like this with the 283 in it. This was the car I learned to drive in when I was 13 or 14 years old. Thank you for all the memories of my dad.
Wow! When I first saw this video, it was almost three hours long; I thought there was no way I would watch it. Well, I was wrong! I enjoyed every moment and even forfeited my Saturday night plans to dive into this experience. :) At 62 years old, I fondly remember my dad's 1960 Impala 2-door convertible from my childhood. Watching you work on this car rekindled so many cherished memories. Though my dad and his Impala are gone, the memories you stirred within me are alive. Thank you for everything you do; your patience and dedication are inspiring. Keep up the amazing work! :)
This is my favorite of all your videos. That's a sweet Chevy! Makes me really miss the '64 Chevy Impala SS I had to give up years ago when life got in the way. Thanks!
My mother was born in 1923 and the very first airplane ride that she had, when she was a young girl, was on a Ford Tri motor....she was always so excited to share that story with anyone! Thats cool to see one from a POV view. Thanks.
Being from Kentucky, I can certainly appreciate the BlueGrass tunes. One of my favorite TH-camrs. Just a guy and his dad wrenching on old American steel. Rock on Travis B, and God bless...
This series is what convinced me to subscribe to your channel. I know fly and drives are expensive but hope to see more like it in the future. Good stuff.
Dude that’s awesome work you did!!!! And then driving it 2500miles unbelievable!!! I take my hat off to you and the car not to mention your period suitcase
Watchin this here in ireland great show. love these old cars as a car guy its great to see these old cars back on the road .it's amazing engineering that a 64 year old car can travel this distance virtually trouble free and your right we Europeans don't understand the size of America I couldn't believe it myself as a young guy of 19 travelling around America back in the 80s this brings back great memories.
Saving these works of rolling art, warms my soul. Luckily I remember driving my Dad's 70 cutlass. I was offered a daily driver well maintained 93 DeVille, and I love it. Guess I should sell my Accord...lol
Holy Crap Travis you got your work cut out for ya buddy. Scott at coldwarmotors is splicing two together to make a 2dr coupe. And Jason at country boy gas garage is doing a 59 El Camino. Ok time to watch your frustrations . 👊🤣👍 p.s. So this is a compilation of vids you did a while back. I missed those cause i haven't checked in in a while ... Sorry. I subscribed to ya back during the 46 International rescue.
When I was a kid in the mid 70s there was a Westclox factory in my hometown of Peterborough, Ontario. Everyone had Westclox clocks. I think I have a 60 year old antique in my childhood trunk. Great video as always Travis. Take care.
I've been watching you for years and really enjoy watching you and your dad fixing vehicles. This was my favorite video by far. What an adventure! I could not have sold that car. It was just perfect.
It brings back memories! In 1967 my dad bought a 1960 Pontiac Strato-Chief or was in a Pontiac Laurentian ( made in Canada ) Catalina in the US , it was white with red interior , it had a column shift transmission ,
IMHO this would be a great candidate for an “icon” type restomod with A “quiet” blown ‘vette engine, Morrison air-ride suspension, beautiful restored “jettisons” futurist interior with a patina exterior… I love those classic land yachts this a candidate for a very sweet ride!
2:35:08...re: your jerry rig headliner repair...TH-camr "Corvette Ben" (who also owns a '56 Caddy) would likely say, "It's bubba. But it works for now. It is what it is." Also, your recovery of the original teal and white body paint, though not perfect, was better than bubba. It was fantastic! I previously did not know that could be done. Keep up the good work!
That Tri Motor is absolutely awesome !!! You just don't see craft like these everyday !!! How wonderful to see one that has been restored and is actually air worthy !!!!!!
Such a wonderful adventure you brought us along with you! Great job on compiling all those videos with those great camera angles! You do make a great director showing us the vision you are seeing in your mind and placing it on film! Your fathers voice reminds me so much of my father that passed away in 2008. I actually rewind and listen to his laugh and brings joy to my heart. You are truly gifted with a wonderful blessed family! God Bless you all.
WOW, A-1 amazing! Even more amazing is no valve seal leaks or timing chain replacement. That little 283 is a runner with good maintenance and no harsh treatment. Great video and trip.
you know you're the slowest guy on a flat section of the interstate in Missouri when a wide-load pilot truck passes you and then you see the wide-load is an arm of one of those gigantic windmills that need two flatbeds connected only by that arm (with a section of nothing in-between them) just to haul it. ...now that's S..L..O..W. :)
Brother this was a very wonderful video, real events of your journey and a lot of frustration and real perils of the condition of the 60...but you improvised overcame and adapted this is what keeps me watching your video's i love old vehicle resurrections such as yours are very genuine, thanks again, the town of Tucumcari is also a famous name from the movie" for a few dollars more" when Lee Van cleave told the train conductor he was gonna get of there inspite of it was not on the scheduled route by pulling the emergency cord forcing the train to stop, you can google that part of the movie to see.
I wonder if there are hard drives full of video footage from TH-camrs that tried this and absolutely failed because the engine blew up after 200 miles or the wheels fell off lol. This is pretty cool man. Lotta 'make it drive again' videos, but you got some really cool sidequests and a lot of heart in this. Some folks just have a gift and passion for storytelling and it permeates through every moment.
That was a really cool journey! I really appreciated the Bethlehem visit. When the gentleman on the bike stopped to lend a hand....I was getting "Would ya look at?! Just look at it." sorta vibes. :D
This is the best Road Trip video that I have seen so far! Remeins me of the 1958 Plymouth Belvedere I had with the push button automatic ! You did a great job Travis !!!
I understand you 100%. You're in Arizona working on a North East car, and you're fixing the heater core because, it's there. Great attention to detail. We used to have radiator repair shops here back in the day, but they dissapeared like good manners did.
It needs an exhaust. You got to put dual exhaust on that thing man. I like this video though man. My dad was a mechanic for 60 years too man. He could tell me what was wrong with the car by listening to it over the phone. Miss him. Enjoy that time with your dad man
Those windshields were spectacular, but the only thing holding it up are those tiny strips of metal on the A-pillar and in a roll those things go down like a house of cards. In other words, they crush ya.
Thought I watched this before. But maybe not. Seemed I remember your stopping at certain places like that ol’ steel plant. In PA. And wanting to stop in Ohio at the place of filming. Shawshank redemption. Did not remember running out of gas though. You’re a trooper. This video is the same but totally different. Travis thank you for redoing this. Loved it. The 1960 was awesome. Thanks for sharing. Your dad was impressed. 💯👊👍
I sure hope that steel company doesn't get torn down I hope people will pitch in and try to keep a roof on the place until time can go by where it can be somewhat restored very cool thanks for taking us there I'm new to your videos but so far I really enjoy it I hope some of your other cars you have some education behind it all😊
Something amazin, that i ever watched. The coolest way to restore the car, not cheap, and not deep, and that is looking good the same. And u know what, i never seen an original paint under the rust, f*n incredible! Now i know, what i want to work with. Take care..
@theetravisb this original video series introduced me to your channel. My first car was a 1960 chevy biscayne & later in life I lived & worked in Garfield, NJ right next door to Wallington! Loved your channel ever since
You know what would be cool? Take an old car like that and get it in tip top shape and rent it out so that someone could get that experience of driving an older vehicle across America. Be like going back in time.
Awesome video Travis, and it was really cool to see that old Ford airplane. That was the first time I’ve even heard of them let alone seeing it on video.
Hey Travis, SBC’s have been the main stay since the 50’s. My favorite is the 283 with a nice 4 speed or 3 speed column shift. Just miles and miles of fun!! Great Video Thank You 🙏

This was first video I saw so long ago that hooked me, I've been subbed ever since.
Thank you for sticking around! This is the compilation of all the videos on this car/ trip from start to finish. I think I did like 5 videos on it.
@theetravisb I remember, and keep up the great work, Travis. Those of us that have been around for a while, know how much this channel means to you and how much love and effort you put into your work.
Continued blessings to you and your family
Ditto, watched Travis and his Dad for some time since seeing this!!
Yeah, been following since this vehicle as well.
Same here

This was the first video I saw you at on TikTok!
So you SOLD it ? Damn. I hope it ended up in good hands.
This was the first video of yours I saw. I was hooked! Thanks for the great entertainment!
See bro, that dude that pulled over to help you out, that's a legit good guy right there. Dude not only helped get you to the truck stop, but he also took you back to the car, AND stuck around to make sure you could get her fired up. Kind soul.
Yeah he was a God send
Thank you! That was amazing. I'm 69 and my dad had a 1960 Biscayne; you brought back a lot of great memories. Cheers.
Travis, I owe you an apology....I've watched your videos many times before and only realized now that I hadn't yet subscribed! You are a hard working and genuine guy. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep it up!
I have really enjoyed this video because I love to see you tubers like you bring old cars back to life and then Road trip them. I love it.
Me too also ditto.
It's cool that you let us see the good the bad and the ugly. Most people edit out those small mistakes that you let us see. Let's us know we are all human. Thanks

What an awesome adventure! You drove a piece of American history.
I just watched all three hours of this. Amazing. Thanks buddy. Loved it.
This is my favorite of all your videos. That's a sweet Chevy! Makes me really miss the '64 Chevy Impala SS I had to give up years ago when life got in the way. Thanks!
The Chevrolet Impala, one of the best cars ever made by Chevrolet, in my opinion.
Thank you for making a classic come to life.
They are awesome cars
Preservation over restoration all day! Love keeping em original.

Loved this vid. Love the car. Love your channel!
I watched that series...
You have more cojones than I do driving that 65 yr old rig that far..
and did it solo
Far more quality and dependability in that old car than most new cars today
Love you from Kolkata India bro ❤❤ i Love old car's
Being from Kentucky, I can certainly appreciate the BlueGrass tunes.

Good video.. As I recall we used to plug the vaccume line with a golf tee when we set the timing on the old chevys.
I've been watching you for years and really enjoy watching you and your dad fixing vehicles. This was my favorite video by far. What an adventure! I could not have sold that car. It was just perfect.

That was a really cool journey! I really appreciated the Bethlehem visit.
When the gentleman on the bike stopped to lend a hand....I was getting "Would ya look at?! Just look at it." sorta vibes. :D
I like this kind of adventure. Buy a car, fix it, and drive it home.
Vice grip garage has competition now...great show I watched from beginning to end. Nice car young man.
How is it competition when VGG encourages it?
The way you brought the paint back was amazing!!! Great video!!
What a Chevrolet glad to see you made it
This is the best Road Trip video that I have seen so far! Remeins me of the 1958 Plymouth Belvedere I had with the push button automatic ! You did a great job Travis !!!
Irish spring bar soap. For long lasting fanbelt n gas tank protection. It will seal a pinhole or small crack temporarily
The 1960 Impala is very cool! You don't see those anymore and that plan Awesome. Thank you for sharing

Saw the series when originally shown; enjoyed watching it again. Love 60’s cars! Guess that’s why I have a 64 Cadillac!
Such an awesome project. Stoked to see more content on the Impala
Good sold work my friend. Proud of you. Bravo

You always amaze me Travis. You are a gooooood mechanic.
I traveled vicariously you. Enjoyed every moment.

Great Video Thank You 🙏
❤ enjoyed your journey with your Impala. I too have relatives in Mt.Vernon, IL. I love fifties n sixties cars. Watching you I've learned many things. Thanks
that man was kind. yeah it happens to the best of us. he's laugh all the way home.
60 impalas always remind me of when I was 9 years old in '64 and my uncle showed me how he could balance a nickle on edge of his '60 impala v8s intake manifold!!! Thats smooth!😊
Beautiful car = EXCELLENT JOB= thank you for sharing this adventure and educating me about Bethlehem
Really doing good. You have a real knack for this. Looking forward to seeing you grow. Sponsors should be lining up.
That was a long , and loved every minute I could have watched another hour or more. Keep it up 👍
Slice a piece of fuel hose down the side, put it over those heater cables and slide it up and down using it as a bathtub while you oil up the cables with Acetone/ATF mix ,
You can oil them right through the housings.
Give it a try, I use the same method for cables on old snowblowers and lawn mowers, and it works very well.
This series got me hooked on your channel 🇬🇧👍
something beautiful and wonderful thank you for your efforts. I hope to continue publishing more ❤
I enjoyed your adventure with this amazing ride Travis, greetings from Mexico.
Man, Bethlehem Steel is practically in my backyard! My granddad worked there as a machinist, and I know a lot of the guys who worked there until the end. The works (or as we Valley residents call them, the SteelStacks) are one of my favorite places in the world. Cool to see it on film. Hope you enjoyed your time in my state.
That’s cool you have history with it. It was generational income for some
Wish I knew you were near by my place Travis! Would have liked a meet and greet! I installed an oil tank in Bethlehem 20 years ago. So glad they saved the blast furnace.
