    You were having SOOOO much fun driving it. I think you should fix it up. You know how to weld and shape metal, but you have so many other projects. Your choice as usual.

      Frame looked ok. Patch it up , fix the clutch. It's a good beater. My 47 Buick had a stuck clutch now, sitting to long. I'm going to try and get it unstuck! At least you had fun drinking it. The engine sounds good! Thanks for the video, Brent!😊

      You might try cranking on it while it’s chained to the fork lift or against a tree with the clutch in and in first gear. If it doesn’t work I guess you’ll have to go the harder method. It looks like a lot of fun to drive.

    Watching that Jeep running around the fields and digging it's way out of that mud hole ... it has so much heart !! It would be a shame for such a historic piece of equipment to be destroyed. It may be good for driving around your yard to get parts, etc.

    Go for the restoration... mostly all flat panels on that vintage Jeep and that is a really strong running engine. Plus you never stopped smiling so smiles per mile are extremely high!!!

    Me and my roommate watched your beginning-to-end big green truck video yesterday.
    "This guy can bend and stitch metal to his heart's content like my mum can trim me a pair of pants." ...was the take-away. What a unique, badass yet classy vehicle you have built there, man. Combining those two cabins to make the crew cab extension... holy fff. Very amazing. The interior is so freaking cool too... Bravo. Anyone should aim at being as good doing their thing as you are doing yours.

    Throw a couple of hundred bucks at it, a couple of days work, a couple of videos and at least you would have a working project for an enthusiast to buy. Maybe you could get a good swap for it at one of the events you go to. You could just drive it around and offer a ride to any prospective buyer.

    Back in 1973 I had a 1947 CJ2A with a 3A window. I was just a kid then (19 years old) and I had a ball with that old Jeep. It had about the same amount of body rot as yours does. I fixed the rust and put a rag top on it. I ended up trading it to my Dad for some property he had. I built a house on that property and married my awesome wife a year later. We are still married and will be celebrating our 45 anniversary on the 27th of this month.

  • @highdesertworkshop
    @highdesertworkshop 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I've done a bunch of those things , we found the easiest way to service the clutch is to pull the engine, set it on the front bumper and remove the flywheel housing. The only Trickey part is putting the clutch fork back in, you hang it from a cord and feel around with thw cable until it drops in place.

    Man Brent, your drive around the field brought back memories of my youth,
    No, clutch, sloppy steering, questionable if any brakes,
    That was just a lot of fun, I was laughing the whole time,
    The only thing that would make it better is if you brought Pablo with you but I don’t think he’d of liked it,
    I get the feeling he only likes riding around in finished projects.

  • @richardgabel33
    @richardgabel33 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Think fix it and put on the road. Make it a give away project. Perfect swap a V-8, maybe turbos or not. New drive line, not that old junk. You have the skills and equipment to replace all the floor material and then weld up a lot of patch panels. This one could be nice. If you don’t use it for content then a couple questions...how much do you want for it and what state are you in ? That was entertaining.

    • @jeep2003
      @jeep2003 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The drivetrain is the best part about it! Might as well start with a new body and start with everything new if you are going to do all that. An old jeep makes the best yard machine they are like a little tug boat.
