FIRST DRIVE in My New DARK HORSE! Picking Up the Latest Shmeemobile

- It's time to get behind the wheel of my brand new Mustang Dark Horse for the first time! Not only is the new Shmeemobile now fully protected with Ceramic Pro's Ultimate Armor package, but it's my first drive in a new S650 Mustang full stop. I've been looking forward to this one!
We're heading straight to Ceramic Pro Chicago at the Chicago Car Collective to see the finished result of the PPF installation and ultimately get the newest member of the Shmeemobiles out onto the road. During the visit, we join Sam for a tour of some of the awesome cars in storage at the member's facility, including a stunning Ferrari 812 GTS, new Porsche 992 GT3 RS, matching pair of V12 Vantages, and plenty more.
However, it's time to get behind the wheel, and the first route is to be full on tourists in Chicago with visits to Northerly Island and to the Route 66 Start sign; the beginning of the legendary road route to California. With traffic very much against us, but some time for first thoughts at the wheel, we're heading to the Iron Gate Motor Condos to meet up with RLS59 Collection - very much a huge inspiration for The Shmuseum from when I first visited.
Not only can we take in the likes of Salomondrin's former 918 Spyder in Acid Green, and stunning examples of the McLaren P1, Pagani Huayra Roadster and more, but also a special visit to the secret vault of Chicago Motor Cars... and this is where it gets a bit crazy! Flanked by walls featuring some amazing murals, this is where there's quite a lot of extraordinary cars to see that would normally be totally off camera - a special thanks to them for the opportunity to share this with you.
It's a day of hypercars, and enjoying the Mustang Dark Horse, and just taking it all in!

Haven’t we been saying this for the past 5 years? Car manufacturers keep producing cars with manual gearboxes, some of which are sold at inflated prices to gullible enthusiasts. This Mustang is an exception.
@@hl236Yep, so true but it's probably more of a looming threat now. That bring said, I think they have been moving back the petrol new car sale ban back a fair few more years at least here in the UK
@hl236 They killed the manual on the entry level turbo four Mustang. The end is near…. You now have to spend about $45,000 usd to get a manual Mustang.
I wasn’t expecting the spec of this car to look so good!! Not normally a fan of white cars, but it really works with the black accents
Totally the same for me, I made the call for white without really knowing if I'd like it. I'm sure I'll change it sometime, but it looks great for now

Why are so many people seemingly into baby blue? I don't really get it. I personally prefer deeper blues and metallics on cars.
@@CaseyCollier I just like the look of pastel colors on cars, and blue would be the best for the mustang in my opinion.
I used to have that view 3-5 times a week driving semi all over Chicago. 3am with a good song on the radio i think is the absolute best way to cruise thru the city. It’s like therapy

That was a 1967 Corvette Stingray 427 (big block as you said). Last year of the second generation, or C2. What an incredible car collection. Thanks for sharing it with us! Will be watching the trip. Love everything about the Dark Horse except the silly name and dumb badging--and the fact that the quietest setting for the exhaust is still very LOUD. Enjoy the trip!

That's a nice looking view when you are driving over the river. Years ago there was a band that came into Chicago and as they were crossing the bridge they flushed out the septic tank of their bus.There was a group of tourists coming under the bridge on a boat and they were not happy.

The spec on this Mustang Dark Horse is on FIRE! The fact it is a NA V8 engine with a 6 speed manual is something special indeed. I look forward to seeing more of this car. Had to delete my other comments cause I was getting too spammy. So much awesome stuff in this video, the Oro Elias SVJ towards the start barely got a mention. The passing-by at 19:55 was awesome. But what I especially loved was that basement section, because those are such out-of-the-ordinary specs that seeing those cars was very interesting/inspiring.

I love the Iron Gate and miss it. I use to attend their monthly car meetups on premise. I moved to Georgia and no more Iron Gate :(

I bought my 87 Oxford White GT new with 30 miles. 5.0 with 5spd. It was one of the baddest things you could own back then. Damn how times have changed. I love the color scheme of this new Dark Horse. Nostalgic for me to be sure....lol. Beautiful car and I love computers and such so the screens are growing on me. Like the fox gauge simulation I think this has. Saw it somewhere.

I noticed you drove past portillos. Went to a wedding last year in Chicago. We drove past that one to get to the bed and breakfast we stayed in. I ordered uber from there. It was good. The relish is really green. I'm from WA state. Never seen relish that green before.

Man, so close to me being in Chicago! Crazy considering how far you are normally lol. Chicago does have cool cars, from Porsces and Ferraris, to Suburus and Mazdas and JDM sports cars (my favs personally) and of course plenty of American Muscle. Just driving around Chicago land is a trip in the summer haha. The Stang looks great!!
