Im from Germany and this is the first time I hear of that museum. Already planning a trip. Gotta see that. What an insane collection with the most outstanding cars. Wild
Philip Kaess did a video earlier that year. and as I remember he mentioned, that the collection was privat and now they open the doors for the public. So it is a new "museum".
The museum was opened in July 2023. The collection belongs to Friedhelm Loh. He is the owner of the Friedhelm Loh Group and is one of the 20 wealthiest people in Germany.
I actually work part-time at this museum. It costs 26 Euros for a combi ticket and often there are car clubs displaying their cars in the court yard. I never know what to expect when I show up to work. And not only is there a great restaurant, there is also a food trailer outside that serves good food too. Tours are available in German and English, but book that a head of time with the office. The gift shop has some limited edition models of some of the cars. It's really nice to work there
Thanks for not rushing past all the older classic cars. Car nerds like us should know and enjoy all eras of the automotive history, because the more you know, the more you see. Awesome place indeed!
The cars are undoubtebly amazing, but what's really blowing me away is the fact that, in what looks like a single take, Tim has spent over well 20mins talking knowledgeably about each and every car. Incredible stuff Tim, chapeau to you!
What an unbelievable collection of cars. Only in a collection like this can a 12-14 million dollar Jaguar XKSS blend into a giant display and not even be mentioned.
OMG! I can't believe you didn't mention this gorgeous Jag during the video. You keep panning past it & I'm talking to my screen asking what Jag is it. I'm so glad it's now been revealed as a XKSS, very very stunning vehicle. I absolutely love the C & D types & the vintage XK series. What an amazing collection, I really enjoyed this tour. Cheers Shmee.
I’ve never seen a shmee video where you are almost stumbling over your words because of how overwhelming the collection is. Honestly mind blowing and a new life goal to see this collection in person. It might be the best automotive museum ever full stop.
Danm shmmee!! You are really really knowledgeable.. the fact that named all those cars and the stories. You take your job pretty serious. You very humble, and have done a lot of research. Thanks for the video
This collection is owned by Friedhelm Loh a German industrialist who was given an electrical startup company in 1961 by his father Rudolf Loh. Rudolf Loh was a Nazi who served in WWII and was in both the western front fighting against the US Army and later transferrred to the Eastern front where he was wounded in battle against the Soviets. After recovering from his wounds he was assigned to Peenemunde where he worked on the Nazi nuclear program as well as the control systems for the V2 rocket. There are unanswered questions about the source of his financing which allowed him to begin a manufacturing business immediately after the end of the war at which time Germany was totally devastated and most people struggled to find food.
Been there last year. Magnificent collection and great to see they rearranged it compared to last year. Planning to go there again some day. Very well presented
From every person who had a matchbox car collection as a child and used to subconsciously transport themselves into that miniature world as they stacked those models neatly next to one another on the floors and table tops. Thank you for making that dream a reality.
Tim, you are the only person that can do a 'one take' on such a collection! Brain overload 😂. Keep up the great work, as always!. And props to the camera girl keeping up with you 👏
This collection is pure class. Probably the best you have ever shown us, Tim. Yes there are bigger collections, but this is on a different level all together.
This is just a small part of the collection, the owner has in excess of 500 cars but most are in storage. The museum has one fixed exhibition and one varying so they keep rotating some cars based on the theme of the exhibition
My passion for cars comes from my grandmother and dad who grew up in a house (the same house where my grandmother still lives) literally 12 km from where this has now opened and we had no idea. Thank you very much Tim, I look forward to bring them both next time I visit!

Most amazing collection ever not by just the worth of the collection. History and emotions are everywhere. Whoever is choose and gather the cars is a man of a culture. Let alone Nicky's signed f1 car, 330p3, f2004 and f2007 contains so much emotion and drama. Actual Kimi's f2007 raced in Brazil won by 1 point. I will definitely visit this place.
Well looks like I’m heading to Germany this summer. The fact there are collections that are amazing, with re creations of these cars.. Then there is this. Absolutely un-believable.
Thats an awesome collection imagine getting to choose one Also i rly like that they put some effort into placing them nicely and adding some scenery etc, great job by the owners!

In all seriousness, I applaud you for doing your homework and giving a comprehensive tour of this bonkers collection, especially when classics haven't seemed to interest you much in the past. It was clear that you gained a greater appreciation for how the historic informs the present, and I really enjoyed this vid. Cheeeeeeers!
