FERRARI ROAD TRIP DISASTER! Stranded on My Purosangue Tour

- The first road trip with my Ferrari Purosangue has gone very wrong...! It's the worst possible start of this tour with crashes, cancellations, delays, car issues, and a show stopping problem in the way. Heading via Brussels and Cologne towards Frankfurt, it's a rollercoaster ride of a Eurotour!
I've been very excited for my Purosangue road trip to begin, but it was already off to a rocky start with various things that were planned being cancelled due to bad weather across Europe at the moment. However, I was not prepared for how quickly it would turn into a complete mess with everything possible going wrong for us.
In theory, we're departing The Shmuseum for a run to the Autobahn, before continuing down to visit Maranello, across to Monaco, and back through Germany on the way home. But, between the stops its a very complex itinerary with very little room for movement. The first leg in theory would bring us down to Stuttgart for a number of booked stops, but with one cancelled we had already made a change to something else involving a flight out of Frankfurt. With both shoots either side of that now cancelled, it changes again!
What I hadn't planned was that we'd cross the Eurotunnel to France, only to turn around and go back home again! Round two starts on plan, but with a stop at Liege Airport to collect the missing Zenvo key and registration document, it starts to take a series of wrong turns; missing paperwork, engine warning lights, and ultimately a big nail in the tyre... a 23" hard-to-find winter tyre for the Purosangue.
However, at the end of the day, in steps Maranello Motors Ferrari Cologne who are able to resolve all of these issues with excellent service and amazing speed, and SOMEHOW, the rest of the 3rd day runs to plan and we arrive at Frankfurt Airport with smiles on the face from plenty of V12 fun on the Autobahn.

I know how it feels to have a tire breakdown in a supercar (they don't come with spear tires). It once happened to me in my new M5 comp after hitting a curb on a Saturday evening far from home. The car has to be towed and I've to wait 3 days to get a new tire shipped to the repair shop. By the way, I like your grey hoodie coat. It looks great on you. Do you mind sharing the link to get it? That's as heated as I've seen Tim get on camera in 9 years. I'm sure he's had other moments, but I don't blame him. If his patience was tested to that extreme, it had to have been an atrocious experience.

I hav lived in Ostende, Brussels and Hassel. It just sucks. Food's expensive but terrible, people are rude, and everything just takes forever.
@@AB-80-X Belgian here. Can confirm. That's why I moved to the Netherlands. Much better in more than a few key areas. Doesn't surprise me one bit that this happened in Liège though. I could fill a few hours with stories of my experiences of doing business there, or rather trying to do business. Only city that's worse in my experience is Charleroi

Well it’s nice to know I am not the only one that has bad days! Tim just documented his bad day on video for the rest of the world to see and I loved hearing his rationale behind how every little thing affected the overall plan as bad as I feel for him on this trip.
i really like the no filter side of this video it shows that going into a long roadtrip isn't as easy as it looks as if things don't just happen by magic but it happens by a lot of planning and scheduling things step by step in order to make it happen and have all the content to share thanks for all the efforts tim it is hightly appreciated 🙏🙏

After the tire puncture, it reminded me of 2 tire punctures I had with new tires less than a week from one another back in September. Luckily, I have a great warranty for my tires and the Michelin Cross Climate 2s I have are a wonderful all year around tire. (As for incompetent people, they're everywhere, unfortunately) I applaud your patience and calm nature, Tim. I appreciate your videos, and thanks for sharing!

Top tip Shmee, when you start a journey never go back home for something else then start again, always ends in disaster when you do. You should’ve just carried on and stayed in Belgium on the 1 night.

Honestly..... Tim i actually really enjoyed seeing the OTHER side to this life that we don't often see, the frustration you displayed i actually felt it for you and could visibly see the anxiety but it made for a very relatable video.
Let me share my day a few years go, i had a trip just like this in one of my own toys for a routine checkup at hospital for some niggles, not only was the journey as disaster ( traffic, car playing up) , i got told in the appointment ive got advanced stage cancer, i kid you not! The worst day ever...... now days every crappy day i somehow spin it on its head and find gratitude for even being able to experience that crap day! I am alive and well in remission and rolling with life's punches. If possible find the gratitude in moments like these, great video and cant wait to see more adventures with the purosang!
I can't even imagine how trash those people must have been, to make Tim, the always positive, friendly and polite brite, this angry. Not that i will be flying anything anywhere anytime soon, but warning has been noted. Makes me happy to see such a bad couple of days end on such a high note. Well deserved, after all you guys went through. Here's to no more issues on this roadtrip.

I know how that side of my country is, I am a Belgian myself, from Flanders (the dutch speaking northerns part of the country for those who are not in the know). The complaints that you are having with those people is exactly the complaints I’ve been having for years about the french speaking Walloons. I will preface that not everyone is like that, and me having my family being 40% from there, I feel bad for those who are being pushed into the same boxes.
In any case, I’m sorry for what happened to you Tim, I hope you won’t have to go through that again.

As soon as I heard - in the previous Zeno episode- that the car had transited in Liege, it was pretty obvious that the key was “lost” during that part of the uk-usa car shipment. And bingo, it was confirmed 5’ later in that episode.
Hence, totally unsurprising to now hear about the “5* customer service”…
But, don’t forget that once you’ll be living in independent Flanders, Wallonia will remain your first trading partner…

I definitely respect Tim's transparency on this trip. Call out the idiots who dealt with the Zenvo and expose the world to their muppetry. That nail and the engine warning light as well, my goodness it couldn't have been much worse.
Tim have you thought about using tire plugs for punctures? I know you wouldn't want to go silly speeds with one in a tire, but much better than all the hassle and could get you out of a tight spot.
I don't believe you can use repair plugs on the shoulder area of the tyre.

If you ever get the chance and want to do some good Autobahn run this time of year, do the A24 between Hamburg and Berlin. Over 65% of that road is derestricted and very straight, with little traffic.

So they 'lose' the registration document, which has your address on it, and the key too?? If I was a cynical person, I'd be wondering if someone there was working with those people you see on security cameras making off with other people's very expensive vehicles... Shocking service.
Luckily me for the addresses aren't the same, but still!
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Just know refilling stations that big usually have some kind of tire repair kits available. Either those plug types of gel types. Perhaps even, if your car doesn’t come with a spare, in it’s place there’s usually such a kit where the spare tire would be. Including an inflator for after the repair. Ferris even have their own branded air compressors. Best of luck for the rest of your trip mate.

He was not about the have a mental breakdown due to that, he was annoyed.
And you are completely missing the point that he is on a business trip and trying to get work done. It is easy to see that the guy works a lot, so that whole deal could set him back a heck of a lot. I'm sure if you had a proper job you'd understand this.
Canceling on Tim has to be some sort of cardinal sin. This man is an international treasure and icon. I would think that anyone who upset Tim that bad would have to be that monumentally beyond tarded.
Bought my 430 Scuderia at Maranello Motors back in 2009. They were excellent back then, glad to hear they still are.
Similar experience after getting off a ferry from IOM flat tyre with my new gt3 touring.Had to travel at 40 mph for 5hrs as managed to plug the tyre.Nervous journey home but got there in the end .Keep up the great work thanks
Knowing how to use a tyre plug is probably a good skill to have. That and an inflator can get you out of most situations with nails and tyres and allow you to keep running for good amount of time.
i mean most of the time it's not reachable to fit a tyre plug without taking the wheel off the car. Still good to know though.
The problem is with a puncture that close to the sidewall, it's not recommended to plug it. In order to plug it you have to ream it which makes the hole larger and with it being where it is that is more than likely going to damage the sidewall which makes it more of an issue than it was at the time.
Tyre plugs also can and regularly do go horible wrong delemnating or exploding the whole tyre, I wouldn't risk it on a car like the Puro
