This will absolutely work for a 2003 Forester although it’s located underneath the glovebox and the car will still turn on. Awesome video brother! Appreciate it.
Needed a very short and a very long screwdriver and a putty knife; the hardest part was removing the two screws under the ash tray mount, but this procedure is brilliant! No more stupid alarm.
You can also just put it into "Valet mode". 1999-2004 vehicles. It will disable the system until you turn it back on again or if your battery goes flat. Then just do it again. 5. Valet mode or alarm off: alarm light (red dot center dashboard display) rapidly flashing 3 times means the alarm is in "Valet" mode and is not setable. The light will stop flashing when you start the car. To set valet mode or just to disable the security alarm system: 1. unlock all doors 2. physically open the driver's door 3. hold the UNLOCK button on remote for 2+ seconds or so. The red 'security' light will then flash 2 times a second until the car is turned on.
On the foresters of this year, the unit is behind the glove box, same exact box and plug. You can reach up right through the passenger side footwell, or you can take out the glove box.
I've just exactly as you have stated and it worked. now I'm good to go cos I've been halted several times by the security system ever since my control keys damaged. thanks
Thank you so much. I have not been able to use my car for a week because of this, and all the videos I've watched show it with the key fob which I do not have.
I'll be trying this once it warms up on my '03 Imprezza. It didn't like the -47F weather yesterday and decided to set of the alarm and now it wont even turn over.
my 2000 Forester was doing that and what worked for a while is a "jumper" across the wires where the programming button used to be. I've kept a large bobby pin in the car, and with it clipped across the wires, the relays would reset and it would start. it's been sitting a few months and now that trick isn't working for mine.
so i am curious if this will work for a 2005 forester xs?? my IMO is behind the glove box and i cant register my keyfob at all... also i wanted to know if there was any problems starting the engine or drivability issues??
2001 Forester S Great! Any idea how to get security light to stop blinking when you have no key fob? Also, do you know if key fob can or cannot be programmed when security is in "Valet" mode? Old Key fob was messed up and drained battery in 24 hours. Somehow car got into valet mode and was driven daily since. I got a new key fob and tried repeatedly to program it but no luck. Now the old lady got a new car, so I have plenty of time to play with fixing it.
@@liamryan2624 I did and let me think about it and hopefully I will remember wth I did. I think it was a 10 times on and off to program new key fob, but at first it wouldn't work so I left battery cable off for a couple days, then it worked as it's supposed to.
@@liamryan2624 unlock door, close door, while keeping foot on brake pedal, turn the key 10 times on to off without starting. horn should sound, press button on fob. open door close door , press button on second fob. horn should sound. Remove key.
I have a 2011 Subaru outback had to get a new key for it, got it programed stopped working have to hold the old key next to it to turn on the ing it cranks but don't start cuz of the alarm how do I program the switch key please?? Sean
I have a 2006 Subaru Baja Turbo. The security module was not located where indicated by your video (unless it is the impact module). Please let me know where I can locate the module, or find the alarm horn so I can take it out. I really am going crazy with the constant alarm not functioning properly. Thank you
RL Murphy It's possible someone installed an aftermarket alarm. It should be spliced in the wires somewhere, likely above the fuse box or in the kick panels.
So i’m having issues programming a fob for my 1999 subaru legacy (the honk for when it’s in programming won’t go off) and i’m pretty sure it has something to do with the security system the person i bought it from bought it from a towing company. If anyone has any advice it’d be appreciated.
Since I switched my battery my alarm system keeps going off every time I unlock the door I have a 2005 Subaru Legacy but I do not have the key fob just to key any advice?
Mine does the same. Subaru told me I can’t bypass the system (in my country/province) just to turn the key 10 times in a row to reset the alarm system, and to use the manual locks not the power locks anymore! Hope that helps in the meantime..
@@Nunyabiz977 I've read that on forums and that doesn't work either on my sisters subi. Replaced the battery because she let it freeze in the dead of Canadian winter and now the alarm is perma on. Thankfully I cut the alarm wire so I can keep my sanity while I try and get it to start, because the alarm also disables the car from starting...
VileStorms since my first dead battery I’ve had constant alarm issues. (The ten turns still stops it when it happens but it’s not a permanent solution )
My fucking mechanic is telling me they can’t deactivate the alarm and same with the dealership. I drive an 02 legacy outback edition. I find it hard to believe that there is no mechanics in my town that can’t deactivate a security system.

This if you don't want to take your vehicle apart to have missing options supposed to be there.
This worked perfectly! No more alarm going off whenever I use my key. Thanks

Would the module in my 2004 subaru legacy be behind my radio cause there's a harness back there that's empty that looks like that one
Does this work for a 2003 Suburu Baja? Same process?
So I have a friend who unplugged my security system but it also turned off my radio. How would I make it so I can still use my radio?
Does this work on a 2008 Subaru Legacy Outback?
Will these steps work in a 2005 SUBARU Forester? One key fob is busted, the other is on the way out.
yes, also there is a way by cycling the key a few times and opening the door. If I can find it I will post it, I haven't needed to do it in a while
You didn't mention an Outback does that work on a Subaru Outback 2000?
I have a 1997 Subaru Outback. Want to disable alarm completely. Just keep it with key. Can u help?
That's cool. I'm going to do that to mine and make a video so everyone will know that it's safe to break into my car!😂
Does it completely disable security? Making it old school?
Will this work on a 2002 Impreza WRX? And will it disable the starter kill function? My factory alarm is making the car not turn over
Austin Dean did you get your wrx fixed?
Austin Dean I would suspect it might be different. For the Baja I know you can turn the key on and off 3 times and it will kill the alarm.

what module is that that you removed? car still starts fine without that?
Don't know the part number, but yeah, started fine!

Thank you!
Can I used this for a 2006 forester
What about a 2011, Subaru outback?
Does the anti theft device have any effect on why the gas won't go to the carb and start?

I believe it is only the same f0r 2002-2007ish. Most of the parts were identical on them those years across several impresa based chassis models

will that work on legacy 04

Well If the car gets stolen no alarm lol
