- This is the removal for my 2002 Subaru WRX Alarm System.
Alarm started randomly going off for days, forgotten that I had spilled coffee a few days before, oops!
Removal is pretty easy
If you know that this where the security module is located in any other year WRXs please comment below!
I have a 2002 forester standard. I did not get a FOB when I bought it. The alarm just started going off when I unlocked the doors. I found out how to get the alarm off by turning the key to run three times. But it goes off every time I unlock it. I hope this works. Thanks for sharing. I post it this works or not. Jonathan
Thanks man, my dad just woke me at 3:30 for it going off, I checked it out and everything looked fine then he woke me back up in 20 minutes again xD it better not go off now 😂
you should do a video on that NOS kit install 1:46
We just bought a 2009 Impreza and now it’s going off like crazy. So hopefully it’s in the same place! But this video helped a bunch! Thanks!
Can you upload the video where you can do this when the alarm is going we've lost the chip in the key fob and the alarm keeps going
@@tahlejafaulkner3973 shoot, I think you can unplug the battery, and then remove the part. I think that’s the best I can do because I no longer have my bad part to make a video
@@aytodd8876 wow okay cool will give this a go and let you know thanks Todd!!!
@@tahlejafaulkner3973 no problem, good luck
@@tahlejafaulkner3973 did it work?
Do you still need to press your fob button just before starting when you put the key in the ignition
As far as I can remember, no you do not. I currently can't get my FOB working (bad Fob) and I still have no problem starting the car.
You just need to make sure the alarm isn't going off, the only way I know of is turning the key to ACC a few times till it stops going off
02 wrx security going off done cut the horn lol ill try this next
I will try this out tomorrow, the alarm system made me break down as i was reversing into a parking spot, chaos
Alaa Jradi hope it works out for you!
Will that trun off the security light on the dash
I have 2002 wrx that i got from the city and the lowlifes that had it before blew the previous engine in it so i got a new EJ20 and i hooked it all up but its cranking and not starting would this stop the car from starting?
TROLL-forFUN add me on ps3 I don’t believe so because this isn’t the immobilizer, just the alarm system
I looked for mine and it was gone, No harness plug either. Only the mirror adjuster. 02 wrx do some have it and some don’t?
Kody Neil I’ve been search some forums but yes that does seem correct, it was an option from the factory. Curious but does it still have a key fob?
Will this automatically stop the noise as it keeps going off and it's nearly 2 am in the morning and waiting for it to go off again...I will do it but just bothered the siren will keep blaring if I do...
@lee todkill yes it will make it stop
You have to make sure it is not going off while you unplug it
However mines UK spec and removed centre console and it's not there....
@@levos2006 I'm sorry I can't help with that, temporarily I would just disconnect battery until you can find a solution
@@aytodd8876 thank you buddy, I found a solution, they just put the terminal in various places on Subaru's but I found it, still a helpful video so thank you!
I have had to disconnect the Battery as the alarm wont stop going off on my non turbo Impreza GX 2004 - I will try this as desperate as car wont go at all - Just alarm goes off continually
Let me know how it goes!
Did this work for you? Having the same problem on my WRX... Going to try this today or tomorrow.
Where’d you get the blue cover on your console bro
I used plastidip on it. Matte blue
Will this dissable the immobilizer too? My car wont start and the immobilizer isn't working so i'd like to remove it.
i do believe so, give it a shot! If it does or doesn't work let me know so I can update description!
What year and model are you working with and I can see if I can help.
Here is an IDEA, possibly need to reprogram the key
This works for Legacy, Outback all models 1999-2004
Forester 2001-2004
Impreza 2002-2004
8. Program remotes: works on Alpine system.
Unlock all doors, foot on brake, all doors closed. Cycle key quickly but carefully on-off appr 10 times until the car honks one time.
Do not turn the key far enough to start the car, just to the 'on' position so the dashboard lights up.
When the horn honks, open and close the driver's door, press any remote button and that's it.
Program another remote? Quickly open and close the driver's door again and push a button on the 2nd remote. That's it.
When you're done, remove the key and the horn should honk 3 times. You're all set.
Sometime it takes more than 10 on-offs to set program mode. Open/close the door, lock/unlock etc, wait 10 minutes, then try again.
Hopefully I can help
did you paint this blue by yourself? i ask because this looks nice af
Yes I did, thank you for asking. It was just spray can plastidip.
Do you know we’re it is in a 04 wrx
Fezzy Foost I believe it is in the same location. I’ll send you a link if I found out otherwise.
Lol that 120 mil tho
Jackson Flint 😂 typical Subaru owner
@@aytodd8876 that's where I keep mine too 😂😂
