I agree with you that would be nice getting body cheaper and nice set of rims

Yes, what a great idea. I drool over the diecast cars. But make do with cartoonish HO plastic bodies.

I have been doing this very thing since the early 1960's. Using parts and pieces from diecast to construct slot cars. I do however only use plastic/resin bodies. It is surprising how many Hotwheels cars are mostly plastic.(Hotwheels Color Shifter series for one). The aftermarket is just full of great bodies and detail parts. Over the years I have restored/customized diecast as static display pieces for my racing layouts but metal slot bodies go's against my racing background. They are too heavy to race well and packing the extra weight heats up the motors. It's not that I haven't been tempted to use metal bodies, diecast cars, as you point out, are at a level of detail and verity never seen. I would like to see more crossover between the two and maybe I will do a metal bodied slot car. With what's available in diecast these days, it is hard to resist. Thanks for putting this out there.

      Thanks for your feedback.
Resin casting is the perfect way to crossover. It's time consuming, but once the mould is made, you can keep reproducing them.

It would be great do the hobby if Hot Wheels really integrated their ideas into H O racing. Imagine seeing the same car in real life/time driving on your raceway? Shivers!!

I am an H/O slotgeek and often thought just same as you! Don't know why there is not chassis with more of an adjustable wheelbase and more of a wheel choice! JP.

I agree that this mixing should be a thing. Just a bit of modification and those Hot Wheel parts should be usable on h.o. scale slot cars! imagine the mods that could be done.

I've been interested in this for some time too but I live in Latinamericanistan and aftermarket goodies are quite scarce and same goes for H O stuff in general, makes the hobby almost as expensive as getting actual car parts overseas. Hell, we barely get premium HW stuff in general.

Love the video, any idea where I can get the brown and yellow Porsche?

Thanks for the feedback. The brown/yellow Porsche isn't something that comes up real often, and certainly not for prices I'm willing to pay.

The balance of these products will be a problem at higher speeds

It's fair to say that anything out of centre will be a balance problem.
The challenge is to make sure the axle holes are dead centre, and the rims spin true.
