I got a similar trap about 6 months ago off ebay, and they're brilliant.
We caught about 6 feral cats over a few weeks.... Probably would have been quicker if the council ranger had brought the trap back a bit sooner each time (the cats were taken to be put down by the council - feral cats are a huge problem in Australia).

Also known as "swamp beaver". I was curious if they were closely related to beavers, but it seems not: They and Beavers belong to the order "rodent" but that is where they split. According to my research a beaver is more closely related to kangaroo rats and "swamp beavers" are closer related to Guinea pigs. The reason for the similarity seems to be that South America was isolated from the rest of the world and therefore evolution could diversify the Rodents a lot more than usual, meaning some of them look more similar to less related species (such as Beavers) than to each other.
Beavers are doing the same damage here in south america, the argentinians introduced them

I’m 57 years old and I would never swap my childhood for anything, we never had computer’s, mobile phones, iPads and we were always outside playing. Many children over the past 20 years had the opposite sadly. Most of them have never climbed a tree like we use to. Nature is the best place to grow up in.
I think this is my favorite video of yours so far. Thank you for making it. We had a have-a-heart trap and used it to catch a stray injured cat, which became one of our most beloved family pets. Seeing your daughter was awesome, she is beautiful. The pic of you as a young boy was great, too! Keep up the great work.

Invasive species present a major opportunity for young people concerned about the ethics of eating meat. Ultimately most vegetarians and vegans don't actually help the earth at all, they're just a different kind of consumer supporting different kinds of destruction and pollution. If you really want to save the earth, forage fish and hunt for local food. And focus on species like this that can't do a damn thing to stabilize our ecosystem, but may ruin it over time.

I'm done - I don't know if you can read but I'm going to assume you can't
Like I'm looking at this objectively, and it's hard not to ignore the treatment towards animals from a young age depending on how you look at trapping and killing and going the extra step of recording and posting videos of their demise as being indicators for some abnormal social behavior. But it also kinda seems like he grew up in the country (where trapping is normal) lives in a pest heavy area, saw a niche, and loves his family and America like the rest of us.
