  • HEY TEAM!
    Back with our next follow along full Muay Thai class for beginners!! :) Thank you so much to everyone who tuned in to our first video and gave us all the positive feedback!
    Today's class is what we refer to as "line work" in our regular in-studio classes. We incorporate forward and backwards movements in each combo and we see how we can use these strikes or defences in those scenarios.
    This video is suitable for those pretty new to Muay Thai! We take you through some technique work, combinations and some core work to finish off! Be sure to warm up and cool down :) You won't need any equipment for this - so perfect for those training at home solo! A yoga mat or a soft surface would be advised for the core work so please have that handy!
    If you're unsure with any of these techniques, let us know so we can focus more of our content to what you'd like to see :)!
    TECHNIQUE
    Footwork 00:35
    Defence Drills 03:21
    Squats into Teeps 06:00
    COMBOS
    [Forward] R1:Jab + Up Elbow + Rear Knee 07:40
    [Backwards] R2: Lean back + Rear Block + Hop back Leg Kick 11:45
    [Forward] R3: Rear Teep + Step Up Knee + Rear Elbow 16:10
    [Backwards] R4: 2 Steps Back + Switch Knee + Cross 19:45
    [Forward] R5: Jab + Fake Rear Kick + Rear Kick 23:23
    CORE (3 minutes) 27:10
    Sit Ups to Elbow
    Plank Twists to Knee Raises
    Side Planks to Blocks
    Hope you guys enjoyed that! Had a bit of a laugh with us too .. for our full "fails" compile video check out our instagram (coming out soon) :P
    See you guys next time! STAY HEALTHY EVERYONE!! love
    This was filmed pre stage 4 lockdown and mandatory masks in Melbourne, Australia ;)

    I just want to say a big thank you. Is being a while that I was looking for a good Muay Thai workout and you guys are the best so far: very easy explanation (for beginners like me), lots of exercises and very good vibes. Your workouts are such great vibe that time goes very fast. Please keep posting more videos because is helping immensely (I cannot go to the classes because of my toddler plus I desperately need to learn to defend myself to rebuild my self power that was taken away from me). So thank you and the universe shall bless you two 🙏🏾🙏🏾

    As someone who is overweight and is looking to use this as a great way to work out, should I only stick to using the same stance for the whole workout? If I am dominant on my right arm and right leg, should I only stick to that a stance that compliments that or should I switch stances to "even out" the excercise for the full body? Love the video!

  • @DPrincessHazel02
    @DPrincessHazel02 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    thank you so much for the beginners classes! Hope to see more soon 💜💜 I have a question, though. As a beginner, is it fine to just focus all the technique and combo on your dominant side? I remember that we had to do the movements on both sides back then when I took muay thai classes a few years ago, but when I tried switching now, it just confused me 😅

    • @MartialSpirit
      @MartialSpirit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Hazel, you're so welcomed thank you for tuning in :) And yes there's no issue with focusing on one side first and slowly building up. When starting, focus on your balance and technique before speeding it up or increasing power (if you're hitting a bag or pads).

    • @MartialSpirit
      @MartialSpirit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey! Yup once you get the all clear from health professionals, we've had people start muaythai with similar/same injuries - always slow and listen to your body especially with the kicks. See how they feel kicking some soft pads first before trying to hit with power/ the heavy bags or pads.
