Was thinking about running this setup and dumping out before the rear tire like the old Lightnings. Running the same setup with an MBRP 3" cat-back exhaust and I am just not happy with the sound. Are you happy with this setup still? Too loud? Too Quiet? I'm torn between the 250 and the race series and was wondering if you could help steer me the right direction based on you experience. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have another question for you. My MBRP system runs a 3 inch pipe from the flange back to the muffler. The black widow venom 250 mufflers only come with 3 inch inlet pipes, like my MBRP. I could use that same pipe that I got from MBRP, but I kind of want to save it so that I can sell the whole system to someone. When you took your truck in to get it worked on, did they give you a new 3” pipe that bolted up to the flange? Or did they take the 2 1/2 inch stock pipe and cut it right behind where the flange bolts together and use a coupling to up-size it to 3 inches?
Ill see what i can capture, inside the truck isnt really that bad if you listen to the radio while driving you cant hear it unless your in acceleration. If completely quiet in the truck you do hear it some.
Had my dads stock muffler removed and replaced with a single pipe with the resignator still on it and it sounds bad ass and costed 9$ if anyone is interested I can make a video his is a 2015 lariat
Depends what you mean by stock pipes. It's fairly simple for a muffler shop to cut out your stock muffler and install an aftermarket one, my whole setup only ran me about 250$
@@tophstlasent Yeah that's simple and the most cost effective way to do it. A muffler shop will measure the size of your pipes and match a muffler's inlet and outlet to it
What kind of black widows I should get on my 2006 Monte Carlo 5.3? I have res delete
Which muffler did you take it to?? We’re not too far from each other! I’m thinking about doing this muffler or the borla to my 18 5.0
carlos rosales Terry's muffler in redoak it's a good little shop
Was that Terry's that used to be in Red Oak? He's not there anymore.
Is that the 5.0 engine?
That thing needs a levelling kit bad
Can you put a link on which one you used ?
2.5 or 3"?

Phillip Pound I love this setup I think it's just loud enough especially if you have it dumped, race series is too loud to me for daily driving

Nevermind. I can see in your video where they cut it right behind the flange. Thanks for everything.
No problem man happy to help
On a scale of 1-10 how loud would you say it is?
6, not the loudest ever but definitely not quiet.
TxModNetwork thanks! Still like it?
i wonder how much it cost to have people cut off the old one and weld on the new one- probably way too much. anyone know for sure tho?
definitely too much in Bidens economy. duh!
Which venom 250 did you get? 2.5” or 3” and is it offset or center ?
the measurements are to match the size of the exhaust pipe that you’re attaching the black widow muffler to
Do you still have cats
Is there any drone?
Cody Chronobey no not really
any check engine light ?
Nope everything is the same as normal no check engine light.
Rhode Island FishingN4wheeling
Why would changing the muffler and deleting the resonator cause a CEL?
I had a problem with the check engine light staying on so I went in the dash and took out the bulb. That was the end of that.
Sounds badass man
Lion Azz thanks!
If you still have this set up would you mind doing an in cab driving video?
John Carpenter I can do what but I'm not sure how well it will pick up the Audio
TxModNetwork im just kind of hoping for some kind of idea of what its like in the truck, doesn't have to be perfect.

TxModNetwork that would be great if you can.

Very very good sound!
Can you run stock pipes on any muffler?
Depends what you mean by stock pipes. It's fairly simple for a muffler shop to cut out your stock muffler and install an aftermarket one, my whole setup only ran me about 250$
TxModNetwork I got a stock Chevy and I just wanted to put a muffler and leave the pipes that’s already on there on

Why do you have 1970's pubic hair growing on the bottom of your chin?
What are the stock pipes sizing? I just want to muffler swap. N keep everything else factory
Santiago Escamilla
Probably 2.5, but you can get smaller or larger, they can flare out your original pipe, or the muffler..
