Possibilities: 1. Hermes, due to his Vanity 2. Persian Demigod, due to the war between Greece & Persia 3. Celtic Demigod, due to the Barbarians possibly being Celtic.
Given that Zeus already shapeshifted as the Gravedigger, I thought it was Zeus trying to frame him since at this point he was consumed by fear and was obsessed with the death of Kratos.
This theory is really good and its makes a lot of sense. Also that could be the reason why Hermes was so confident to beat Kratos, because he already escaped once so he though he could do it again, but we all know what happened.
Hey man, big fan. Could you do a theory on how the blades of chaos still work even though the game establishes that they shouldn’t since Kratos destroyed Greece?
I have a theory on this. In Greek mythology chaos is a primordial being, in ascension gaia says that the primordial created the very earth itself and so to me it would make sense that ares found a large chunk of chaos somewhere in the world and used a part of chaos' body to make the actual metal and such for the blades of chaos. So technically if the earth itself was made of primordial beings then it would make sense that they and the primordial fire would allow him to still use magic. I'm not sure though let me know if any of you have a different theory about it.
Atreus and Freya were referring to Kratos' magic (Poseidon's Rage, Zeus's Fury, Hades' Army, etc) They weren't referring to weapons, besides the Blades of Chaos, the Blade of Olympus was still working after Zeus' death. It's not just because of the primordial fire, the Blades probably still have Ares's fire inside them, or else Brok would never have said that Kratos "Stinks of foreign magic" when he retrieved the blades, primordial fire is common in every mythology. Also, I would take what Freya and Atreus say with a grain of salt, since Greek magic works in a different way from Norse magic and they don't know it at all.
I played GoW Betrayal myself. It was a good game for the Era of Mobile phone. I was really confused as to who it couldve been. For me, because of where it was situated it could have only been Hermes, the speed is what set it off.
The idea that this was Zeus’s doing is plausible, maybe this could be Zeus in disguise as well or perhaps a doing of the fates, they told kratos that it is not his destiny to kill Zeus so they perhaps could have tried to make Olympus unite agains kratos
I'm not really familiar with this game, but what I find interesting is that this assassin has 2 blades just like Kratos. Makes me wonder if they were maybe given those blades by someone who also gave Kratos his.
I honestly expected the assassin to be another demiurge thing as honestly this is what started to lead upto God of war 3 where demiurge would need events to go to get the power of hope
Huge fan and definitely off topic for the video. Has anyone else noticed the noose that Odin wraps around his staff after the checkpoint in the boss fight? haven't been able to find hardly any info on it
Kuba do you remember cory barlog once said that some of the things you theorized in your video about Ragnarok was right. After playing the game do you remember in which of the videos you talked about it?
Just something I was thinking of during the barfight in Asgard Ingrid and myolnir are fighting the entire time we know Ingrid has sentience and can fight by herself but how was myolnir fighting her Thor was both drunk af and preoccupied with the barfight so I don't think he's controlling it and when he does it goes to his hand for a quick melon smash but immediately after it goes back to fighting Ingrid and in terms of the barfight both atreus and Thor are on the same side so Ingrid has no reason to attack myolnir and vise versa all this was to say what if myolnir is sentient as well and it's just extremely loyal to the aesir or Odin's direct bloodline and maybe it has a grudge against Ingrid Side note if atreus dosent find Ingrid and learn how to Wield her like freyr in his game I don't know what I will do his combat is cool but he needs a melee weapon apart from smashing his bow against enemies it can't be good for it
I was thinking the same thing about Atreus’ melee combat, I mean he’s literally beating undead creatures and literal gods with a stick, I wish they had Atreus use his knife for melee combat instead.
I think multiple people said they heard Thor talking to his hammer and they thought he was crazy. Wouldn't be crazy if he were talking to something sentient.
Here's a theory for you : what if that person was actually odin himself taking disguise as an assassin and we know odin can shapeshift himself so what if in order to make other Gods see kratos in bad image he did all that, this could also explain how he killed that monster with eyes with ease and ran away from kratos wrath
This makes a lot of sense but it does raise one question. If Hermes was the assassin then he was clearly a skilled swordsman. So why did he try to fight Kratos of all people barehanded?
Maybe the assassin was tyr because we know that he went to different miths and he knows that kratos is a god killer so he might think that because of Hermes son
My theory is that Zeus is the assassin in the same way he's the grave digger, and he suffers from split personality disorder. Grave digger comes in, like the assassin when the evils have take over Zeus and the other gods. Yet they were still sorts helpful to us before we full on declared war. This goes back to when Zeus was a boy. Gaia raised him and even she said Zeus was justified in going after Chronos just not the rest of them, failing to see that their inaction against what Chronos was doing to his children is as much a crime as his and why Zeus would harbor a grudge. Zantamonica did say they used the real mythos and what could be applicable to Kratos was twisted to fit. This means that all Greek mythos was applicable and Zeus is described as brutish, beast in his youth and a wise God later in life after he ate one of his wife's wo was pregnant at the time with twins, a son and Athena. This is a way of showing a split in personality. The distant youth Zeus who wanted to help his family and free everyone firm the tyranny of the titans would still be an aspect somewhere in there, though forgotten. Given Zeus was infested already by the evils from the box and that small somewhat still kind aspect, self serving sure but still having some good in there became the grave digger to help Kratos. And the 3rd grave takes tge meaning that it was for himself, the last stone to solidify Jratos crown because like his father before him he too needed to be stopped for the good of all with all that evil inside him. Then the Assassin was the brutish aspect of Zeus, who didn't think things through but needed a way out of his own words to fight and take down the threat of the destined son. Most of himselfnwould be taken over by following his edict and the Assassin gave him the golden opportunity he needed to go against another God against his own edict. Split personalities are made as aspects to help and protect the original. Some however could be harmful to the total and some could genuinely mess up. It's a part if the condition, aspects are created through trauma to deal withthe issues at hand, basically, and block them from the conscious of the original in some way. Can't think of anything more traumatic than being eaten by your own father who'd already eaten all the other siblings. The death of Hermes son is just an unfortunate add on that he could use to tach on if his idea fell flat. And the evils poisoning Zeus made it easuer to split off the personalities so he would not know at all what the was doing
Cannot verify the canonicity of this but: A year and a half ago I was a contract recruiter for SM studios. We had a group meeting with a bunch of the senior devs and we had a Q&A session. We all got to submit questions to be answered by the devs and I actually asked this question. As GOW: Betrayal was actually one of the 1st GOW games I ever played. The producers flippantly answered "Atreus" and moved on. This was in 2020-ish, so it could have been a joke response or a one-off answer. But it is an answer. I'm not going to pretend like I have many details. Just a off the cuff answer in an informal dev meet&greet. Hope this helps, and hope a dev comes by to vindicate me so I don't look like Im lying for clout.
Someone also asked who blew the horn back then, and it was a decent answer. But I'm going to keep that one to myself, as my credibility is shaky as is.
I am and am not a fan of the assassin being Hermes I am in that it answers a question and adds detail to a story, without making a mobile game/outside media integral to the plot I am not a fan due to it cutting off an avenue for future stories, if there will be any, the "yes and," method of creating jumping off points and connections. "Kratos killed Zeus..." "Yes and what happened to Artemis, Dionysus and Apollo?" With the assassin I would tie it to another mythology.
I believe it was Hermes who murdered Argos. Mythology and speed aside, if you look at the art for Kratos chasing the assassin (3:55) you see that the assassin has white glowing hair, same as Hermes's design in God of War 3. The only thing that comes close to it is when he says to Kratos in GoW 2 "I will not let Ares' fate be my own", which is just him thinking of himself and not wanting to die.
i wonder if this game set the events of god wars 2 like after the death of hermes son zues take action and kills kratos in god of war 2 where if kratos had not killed hermes son then the greek pathon would still be there

Hey, this is my first time leave a comment on this video and I’ve been liking all the theories. You been doing in every one of your videos, but I want to think of one thing when Brock died how did Sindrey brought him back and if it’s possible, can he be back?
Hey kaptain I’m a little confused. Back in 2018, there was one shrine that explained that THRYM stole Thor’s hammer. And how did he steal it even in GOW RAGNAROK KRATOS is struggling to hold the hammer? Is axe works the same way? Because in 2018 in ALFHEIM dark elf use an axe against Kratos even though short time. Eric said the axe and hammer are the same. But how did the elf picks up the axe and Thrym stole the hammer?
It makes sense because he is the only one we’ve never physically seen besides his statue, he left and went off on his own in the gow 1 novel, and he’s the only other one besides Hermes that has speed on his side because he has the Same title as baldur
Imagine some villain god from the egyptian's mythology was the one who sent that assassin to frame kratos and use him as a tool destroy the greek pantheon. Kratos learns this truth from athena after Ragnarok. Goes berserk after the egyptian's pantheon seeking answers.
I'm unaware of any other speedsters it could be, really... unless it is someone from another Pantheon... but I feel like they didn't do much with other Pantheons back then? I started with God Of 4 so idk for sure lol, but my understanding is aside from maybe a couple easter eggs, it was all Greek/Roman? So Hermes makes the most sense... but also I kinda feel like that's too easy.
EDIT: I think Betrayal is before Ghost of Sparta (not after like the Video said, (also what does the Betrayal in the Title is supposed to represent? Who Betrayed Who?) ...---...--- Maybe the Assassin is Deimos He is different because 1)It's the Graphic Limitation & 2)It's uses an Old Design Why doesn't he recognises Kratos? Maybe for the same reason he didn't when Kratos tried to save him, or maybe because he was under a spell (as he was in a mission) What was the motive? Despite Zeus was already under the influence of the Darkness, I think that was still resisting it and had yet to want to kill Kratos In my opinion everything Zeus did against Kratos was all after Betrayal (so the Assassin is what triggered Zeus, maybe whoever send the Assassin was after this, so IMO the real question should be: Who send the Assassin? & Why?) Everything else was directly or indirectly caused by the Other Gods Daimos was kindnapped? It was an alliance between Ares, Hades & Athena that did it Kratos' Mother disappeared & then cursed? It's possible that Zeus did it to protect her from Hera and then the Curse could have been added after GoW1 (as Zeus was already under the influence of Darkness) and Ghost of Sparta happens after Betrayal Kratos being turned into a servant of Olympus, tricked into killing his Family and Tormented by Nightmares? ALL Ares' Fault Note: I am not saying that Zeus was Good (He did a lot of Bad Things, and he is pretty much based on the Original One that can't keep it in his pants) and even without Betrayal he would have still tried to kill Kratos (because He couldn't escape The Darkness' Influence) but it was the Darkness that turned him into the Evil Mad God of God Of War 3 This is why I would like a Remake GoW3 with his Cut Dialogue as a Secret Easter Egg, maybe even expand upon it (by making Kratos kill him in a different way) EDIT 2: Both Hercules and Hera mentioned that Zeus was protective and more attentive of Kratos than of others of his Childrens I think it's because Zeus tried to be different from his Father (Chronos that literally ate his own childrens alive) but when Damios was born with the Marks (as of the Propecy about the destruction of Olympus) Zeus was forced to abbandon him so that the Other Gods could appease their fear, so he gave more attention to Kratos because of it (maybe originally he didn't even know Damios was kept alive by Ares that tried to turn him into a Weapon against Mount.Olympus, as we know from Ares' Soul Easter Egg that Ares did keep Secrets not even Zeus knew about) but then why didn't he stop Ares into turning Kratos into his own servant? Maybe he knew if he did then more attention would have fallen on Kratos?
I have a theory about who blew the horn in god of war 2018 we know that atreus learned to use soul magic and created the young world serpent but when the older world serpent knew that he is loki he refused to help him and told him to go to ironwood so what if angrboda’s parents or just her father blew the horn to tell the serpent that the giants are haiding using the same soul magic that made him and and to tell loki to go to ironwood and so the story continue Loki learn where are the giants and he well somehow free them
@@kylewilson8826 my theory is came from that when Angrboda told Atreus that her father used the souls magic to help the giants hiding from Odin so they must left someone to guide Atreus to Ironwood where Angrboda is protecting the giants souls and waiting for the champion who well know who to bring them back somehow, and I have a clue for that in god of war 2018 when we first met the world serpent he said "I know you Ghost of Sparta; find Mimir he will help" so there is someone have told him about the prophecy and in my opinion he must have big role to save all the giants which brings me to conclude that he is Angrboda's father or her mother that left us prophecy in the form of paintings so she must told the world serpent too!
@@mohamednasr1910 ok here's a few things I see wrong here. First thing is we don't know what the serpent is saying. He can't be saying I know u ghost of Sparta find Mimir he will help. Kuba already said that's not what the serpent is saying lol. Also why would the angerboras father need to tell the serpent anything bro? The serpent knows Atreus from when Atreus births him. The serpent said Atreus seems familiar way before the horn is even blown. So everything your saying just makes no since to me. Respectfully of course. I'm not trying to just say your wrong. But again think about it. Atreus births the serpent so the serpent already knows that atreus needs to go to ironwood. He doesn't need agerbora or her father to tell him to hell atres that. U kno? And that can't be what the serpent is saying bc that would mean hes speaking English and we all know he isn't. And again kuba has already said thats not what the serpent is saying. None of that has been confirmed by kuba so I don't believe the serpent is saying that man. 🤷
Possibilities:
1. Hermes, due to his Vanity
2. Persian Demigod, due to the war between Greece & Persia
3. Celtic Demigod, due to the Barbarians possibly being Celtic.

I still play God Of War Betrayal to this day!!!!! I love it! ❤️
At 709 in the video, That's so funny that Capt Kuba's face is on Zeus to get laid lmfao.
Is this game still available to play…!!???
Yayyy new vid
It was apollo had to be he’s the only one that’s mentioned without being seen
It would be cool to give Apollo some kind of role
It makes sense because he is the only one we’ve never physically seen besides his statue, he left and went off on his own in the gow 1 novel, and he’s the only other one besides Hermes that has speed on his side because he has the Same title as baldur
Imagine some villain god from the egyptian's mythology was the one who sent that assassin to frame kratos and use him as a tool destroy the greek pantheon. Kratos learns this truth from athena after Ragnarok. Goes berserk after the egyptian's pantheon seeking answers.
"the latest GOW: Ragnarok trailer"? Was this video supposed to be uploaded a long time ago?
Yes
I used to play this. It was surprisingly fun
But why would they mess with other pantheon of Gods?
I'm unaware of any other speedsters it could be, really... unless it is someone from another Pantheon... but I feel like they didn't do much with other Pantheons back then? I started with God Of 4 so idk for sure lol, but my understanding is aside from maybe a couple easter eggs, it was all Greek/Roman? So Hermes makes the most sense... but also I kinda feel like that's too easy.
Theory About gow betrayal? Wow
I kinda wish to know who is the assassin but there’s no continue of that game
I believe it’s hermes dew to the way they both dress in armless armor
Is there a possibility that it may be future Atreus?
EDIT: I think Betrayal is before Ghost of Sparta (not after like the Video said, (also what does the Betrayal in the Title is supposed to represent? Who Betrayed Who?)
...---...---
Maybe the Assassin is Deimos
He is different because
1)It's the Graphic Limitation
&
2)It's uses an Old Design
Why doesn't he recognises Kratos? Maybe for the same reason he didn't when Kratos tried to save him, or maybe because he was under a spell (as he was in a mission)
What was the motive? Despite Zeus was already under the influence of the Darkness, I think that was still resisting it and had yet to want to kill Kratos
In my opinion everything Zeus did against Kratos was all after Betrayal (so the Assassin is what triggered Zeus, maybe whoever send the Assassin was after this, so IMO the real question should be: Who send the Assassin? & Why?)
Everything else was directly or indirectly caused by the Other Gods
Daimos was kindnapped? It was an alliance between Ares, Hades & Athena that did it
Kratos' Mother disappeared & then cursed? It's possible that Zeus did it to protect her from Hera and then the Curse could have been added after GoW1 (as Zeus was already under the influence of Darkness) and Ghost of Sparta happens after Betrayal
Kratos being turned into a servant of Olympus, tricked into killing his Family and Tormented by Nightmares? ALL Ares' Fault
Note: I am not saying that Zeus was Good (He did a lot of Bad Things, and he is pretty much based on the Original One that can't keep it in his pants) and even without Betrayal he would have still tried to kill Kratos (because He couldn't escape The Darkness' Influence) but it was the Darkness that turned him into the Evil Mad God of God Of War 3
This is why I would like a Remake GoW3 with his Cut Dialogue as a Secret Easter Egg, maybe even expand upon it (by making Kratos kill him in a different way)
EDIT 2: Both Hercules and Hera mentioned that Zeus was protective and more attentive of Kratos than of others of his Childrens
I think it's because Zeus tried to be different from his Father (Chronos that literally ate his own childrens alive) but when Damios was born with the Marks (as of the Propecy about the destruction of Olympus) Zeus was forced to abbandon him so that the Other Gods could appease their fear, so he gave more attention to Kratos because of it (maybe originally he didn't even know Damios was kept alive by Ares that tried to turn him into a Weapon against Mount.Olympus, as we know from Ares' Soul Easter Egg that Ares did keep Secrets not even Zeus knew about) but then why didn't he stop Ares into turning Kratos into his own servant? Maybe he knew if he did then more attention would have fallen on Kratos?
Best mobile game of all times!😍
1:28 what game is that ?
Hollow Knight
i think gow 1 deimos was supossed to be zelus
We need a remake for that game
GOW Betrayal is a Cool and Good Game.
Is that a old video
Wasn't the assassin's Hermes under the order of Zeus
Do a new Who blew the horn video Kuba por favor! 🙏🏻
Finally!!!!!
Where did you take that kratos pic
Why God of War Betrayal never got a remake?
The assassin is obviously Ezio Auditore da Firenze
I have a theory about who blew the horn in god of war 2018 we know that atreus learned to use soul magic and created the young world serpent but when the older world serpent knew that he is loki he refused to help him and told him to go to ironwood so what if angrboda’s parents or just her father blew the horn to tell the serpent that the giants are haiding using the same soul magic that made him and and to tell loki to go to ironwood and so the story continue Loki learn where are the giants and he well somehow free them
How does any of that make sense and I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. I lts just confusing to me is all
@@kylewilson8826
my theory is came from that when Angrboda told Atreus that her father used the souls magic to help the giants hiding from Odin so they must left someone to guide Atreus to Ironwood where Angrboda is protecting the giants souls and waiting for the champion who well know who to bring them back somehow, and I have a clue for that in god of war 2018 when we first met the world serpent he said "I know you Ghost of Sparta; find Mimir he will help" so there is someone have told him about the prophecy and in my opinion he must have big role to save all the giants which brings me to conclude that he is Angrboda's father or her mother that left us prophecy in the form of paintings so she must told the world serpent too!
When I count through the games, I never count this one.
I don't know if it's even canon?
I say Hades as he killed Persephone and he can vanish without a trace with his Helm of Darkness. But, also Zeus cause changing his form is his thing
