Kuba is dying to see the role of the gods of higher existence in the god of war games isn't he?
that's why he linked 'higher existence and kratos role as the god of death' out of nowhere.
But santa monica isn't giving him.
I really want to see them aswell, but I am getting a gut feeling they might have abandoned it (says who was really interested in them)
Cory is off working on another IP
Atreus broke the mask (which might be nothing but a macguffin)
The devs want to think its some higher existence related shit but it isn't actually.
I hope I am proved wrong totally tho in whatever next game they release.

I doubt the "Higher Powers" were upset with Kratos for not killing Thor; the deaths that happen around him aren't always direct acts of conscious violence done by him. Though Kratos spares Thor, Odin ends up killing him pretty much immediately after anyway, so Kratos still, in a way, brought death to Thor. Overall, very interesting theory, and something that could potentially serve as a plot point in upcoming games. Nice work 👍

I think ragnorak Valhalla gives us the actual answer at the end: Kratos is a god of hope. He embodies it in all of what he has done, the good and the bad points of hope. Hope can pull you out of the deepest pit, and pull you right into one, depending on what you are hoping on and how you use it. Hope can destroy worlds and save them. It starts wars and finishes them. Lastly, I also think kratos being unable to die is due to this little classic line: “hope never truly dies.”

  • @Vinzie777
    @Vinzie777 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The reason why he’s able to kill Thantos it’s because he’s using the Blades of Chaos, it was explained in ragnarok that it is a primordial weapon and possibly contains a primordial fire, which is far older than the greek gods. Old as Chaos. Its source is not bound in its birthplace, the reason why Kratos is able to use it in whatever place he goes.

2:23, here's a theory. You just showed a clip where Zeus said that Kratos became: "Death, the destroyer of Worlds." This is extremely clearly a refrence to Openheimer's famous quote: "Now I'm become death, destroyer of worlds." But, the thing to note is that, that quote that Openheimer used was from The Baghvat Gita. A Hindu Scripture. This either means 3 things.
    1. Nothing
    2. Every God of death is the same, which is a bit strange, since Vishnu, the god who said that quote isn't the god of death, he is quite the opposite, because he's the god of preservation of life (in the context of the quote, he even tried to perserve life). But all hindu gods are actually the same, so that's why the existence of hinduisme in the God of War Universe really messes with the theory of every speciality god being the same.
    3. Zeus knows about the Hindu pantheon and that's why he said he used the quote, because Kratos now has the same powers and duties as every God of Death (most likely)

God of Hope, more like. Everything and everyone around him either gets a noble or twisted feeling of hope towards something or someone when he's near. He himself had ultimate hope that he can pull off deicide against the Greek gods, and then ultimate hope that he changed into an independent monster in the Norse realms. And that hope everyone's feeling for something that won't benefit Kratos or his allies and friends, he just takes away. Violently.

In my opinion, the theory is an interesting one. However, a few things come to mind. If killing a god gives one the mantle of that deity, would Kratos not be the God of Oceans, God of Light, God of Dreams, and many more? Unless the implication is that he takes the role of the last god he killed, which wouldn't be death. Also, I think the idea of "he can't die because he is death" and "he can't stay dead" are wholly different, as Kratos has died several times (even once in Ragnarök. He, in my view, aligns more like a being of fate than death, because its implied through dialogue just being a god (in and of itself) brings upon death to those around you.

throughout the series, Kratos demanded release which was denied multiple times.

New theory for me is Atreus is death. Due to Kratos bed story about death. And his glance to Atreus when he fell asleep. Then how Atreus is able to harvest souls. Kratos in his story may be talking about Atreus as death because of the olympian god myth of sons overthrowing fathers. So he sees Atreus as his end. You can kind of see this when he paused before being shot by Atreus.

He was cursed to forever wear the ashes of his family. The Greek gods cursed him to never be able to die willing. Kratos always wants to or welcomes death. The only way he can die is by not wanting to die. Confusing but that’s pretty much the jest of it.

Kratos is definitely a reference to a Human incarnation of the God of war for obvious reasons which is pretty cool 😎
Ares, Hercules, Death, Thanatos's= same entity different names and different incarnations

Interesting, wouldn’t that mean he has taken the mantle of many gods. And wouldn’t it make it possible for him to recreate weapons. I mean the spear is literally just his spartan spear he had from his brother.

Your theory is good and its true that ares and zeus said it it to kratos.
but one cutscene confirmed it. i dont think that kratos is the god of dead but is still the god of war. there is one cutscene when kratos and brok visit lady of the forge to make draupnir. The lady took kratos blood and it showed the god of war sign. also in gow 2018 when kratos and atreus visit helheim after baldur attack one of shrine reaveald the god of war sign in different worlds. so its confirmed that he is still the god of war.
The reason kratos cant die but this is what i think. is because of athena who has plans of her own or the blade of chaos bears a teribble curse. The only weapon that returns everytime is the blade of chaos when kratos sleep

Technically, with Thor, he still sort of caused his death, after he defeated Thor, he talked with him, and after Odin saw it, he stabbed Thor, and Odin said during their fight, “…and Thor, that one’s on you. You turned him against me. You turned them all against me!” This could prove that Kratos still is death because he still ended up causing Thor to die. I understand that it is a stretch, but it could be possible because kratos could have knocked out Thor and said he died or taken him away before Odin arrived

or you know Kratos does die. a lot. he just happens to be in a universe where coming back to life is a matter of being skilled enough to escape back to the living world. it's not that he can't die. he's just powerful enough that death is more of a suggestion.
