    Bought this just a few days ago as my very first bike! Blown away by how easy to ride it is! All I think about is this darn thing now!

    I had a brand new 2003 YZF600R when I was living in the East Mountains of New Mexico. Great bike and super user friendly. Looked good in silver and black - pretty fast, too.

    I bought mine not to long ago. It's my first bike and I must say I'm in love with the dam thing. And to have the name thundercat is even better lol. No joke

    Just got this as my first bike. Was planning to only keep it for a year and then move up to newer R6 or CBR600rr but honestly I kinda want to keep it forever to always have a ‘comfy’ sportbike. Just seems like one of those bikes you akways want in your lineup.

    I have one i got for super cheap. i had to do some engine work to get her going again. i love mine i honestly dont think ive read a bad thing about them espically for the whole weather you should start on a 600 or not so far in my very little expirence ive found mine to be tame easy to manuver and still have plenty of power. Alot of people in forms say thay wish thay never got rid of theirs enjoy man an be safe.

    Welcome to the world of Yamaha dude. Looking forward to seeing more footage of the Thundercat. Take it easy and enjoy the ride. Best wishes from the Lone Wolf in the lakes. 🕊

      It was always a dream of mine since having my Honda shadow to get a sport bike, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier with it! Thanks!

      @@chaseburk I too went from thundercat, gsxr600 to cruiser (xv1100) then the Yamaha Yzf1000R ~ Thunderace. But I really do miss the Thundercat, the light agile, ability to filter in heavy traffic. but with enough power to have fun on the highway. Starting to understand the saying: It`s better to ride a smaller bike fast, than a bigger bike slowly. ;)

      The dream is to always one day have a 1000cc but I have contemplated just keeping a 600 and just rip it 🤣

    I have owned this motorbike for 2 years and it is still very enjoyable despite being from the year 2000, unfortunately here in Italy it is almost impossible to circulate because it is Euro 0 approved bye and enjoy this good motorbike

    Nice video! I’m looking to buy a 2000 YZF 600R with 38k miles for $2,500. Looks super clean and sounds great. Any suggestions on “watch outs”?

    • @chaseburk
      @chaseburk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @NavySWO thanks for the kind words! That sounds like a pretty sweet deal. I feel like with my experience usually how they look can give a clue in how they’re treated, if there’s broken pieces or it’s fairings are super scratched up (doesn’t seem like it in your case) that’s usually a key into how it was also treated/maintained. Also just looking at the frame looking for cracks, making sure the clutch feels nice when you take it for a ride, brakes, and checking out the chain and sprocket. Then just listening to the engine on a cold start and how it rides (you want no hesitation in acceleration, sputtering, etc). I think in my experience with the past two bikes I had, it takes a lot to kill them and misuse for problems to arise. I think I got a good deal on both of them, maybe below average and even they feel they were rock solid and never had any sorts of problems, but I’m sure everyone’s mileage varies. With all that said, I think that motorcycles usually are more bullet proof in terms for reliability in my experience and as long as nothing stands out when checking it out, I’d say it’s a safe bet, but don’t take my word for it! 🤣

      Thank you Chase, appreciate the advice! Completely agree that most of these bikes are bullet proof. My only major concern is the 38K mileage but I know these Japanese bikes run for a long time as long as well maintained. Cheers. @@chaseburk

      Also for 4k with 3000 miles

    • @chaseburk
      @chaseburk  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it depends on how much experience you have with motorcycles, I've ridden dirtbikes for years before getting this as my second motorcycle. I think that if you can trust yourself with the power of a 600 and take it slow while learning the basics it can be an amazing starter bike.

    Would a 2005 with 3k miles for $3,000 be a good deal?? It has a full exhaust, other than that all stock

    • @chaseburk
      @chaseburk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that’s a very good deal, I would make sure nothing else is wrong with it. I got mine for around that price but with 21k miles so if it is actually all good that would be a steal in my book!

      I paid 3k for mine about five years ago with 12k, 2004 full Vance Hines system, looking for a newer one with less miles but they seem pretty rare now that I'm looking for one. Have almost 30k on it now

    I’ve got a 2002 model it’s only covered 10k it’s literally like brand new and rides like it …. I’ve had loads of bikes but love my thundercat .. did the NC500 this year ridding up from north Lincolnshire.. absolutely faultless ride .. I’d also say these bikes are a match for any 600 super sport around this age .. brilliant bike

    • @chaseburk
      @chaseburk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! It’s been an absolute blast to ride and you still you have all that power of the 600cc. It was right in the sweet spot for me

      @@chaseburk 3 of my mates where all on zx6r’s and they all had bad backs and leg cramps .. wanting to stop for a stretch regular. I felt non of there pain and at no point did I feel the need to push the bike hard to stay with the pack .. I’ve got a cbr600 on a 2004 plate and I prefer the cat 🐈
