@swedish asian femboy 🇸🇪 On public roads it doesn’t matter how good a car corners if the driver is horrible and either corners slow like a grandma or causes an accident because they were trying to drive too fast and went off road or failed to maintain their lane through a blind corner and cause a head on collision.

It's incredible how much faster the 1000's are on the straights. Almost scary how fast they are flying past. Definitely clear this rider is more skilled than a lot of the fellas on the track. Especially since this is the first time he's ridden this bike.

Only time a 6 will keep up with a 1000 is in corners. And now days 1000 are just a tiny as a 6 just bigger motors. He was having problems in the corners keeping up with them.
1000 cc bikes are heavier which makes it hard to control in curves which forces them to go slower , similarly 600 is lighter and faster in curves
1000s are faster but heavier while 600s are a lil slower but more nimble and agile
so you always see the 1000cc bikes flying at the 2 straights but the 600 dominating the curves
There's about a 60-70 horsepower difference, and the weight is about 30 pounds heavier. Still, the 1L bikes are 425-435 pounds curb weight which isn't that much. More weight is always an enemy in the curves, but you can't have your cake and eat it too, unless you're riding MotoGP bike.
That guy battling for 1st knows how to defend. You can see him slowing you right down on some of the apex's because he knows he has the torque to get away from you at the exit's. Great racing from both of you.

Oh yeah no one is talking about the player who almost held is 1st position for straight 10 minutes ,(and even in whole video) even though this guy was having little bit advantage over edge , he was still keeping with him in corners handling such a heavy bike ...
Yes I noticed the slow down at the apex too. That was a clever defensive move. But those late brake passes were brilliant to watch.
I am not totally sure these were intentional as you can see that his (the guy ahead) corner lines are not smooth (you can see it when current rider is not just behind him)

@@H-to-O if it isn’t that much faster why is motogp lap times faster than moto2 that use 765cc engines, for the avg joe a 600cc bike is better for the track but if u have skill and are a experienced rider a 1000cc is just as good as a 600cc or even better. Just because u can’t ride a 1000cc as good as ur 600cc dosnt mean others can’t aswell people are just more skilled 😭

A classic example of a more talented 600 rider carrying more cornering speed and demonstrating better breaking and thus harassing's the 1000cc riders that absolutely walk away on all the straights. Had those 1000cc riders been as talented as the guy in the video they would have absolutely walked away and he would not have been able to keep catching them in the breaking zones and corners. It’s much harder to keep both wheels on, out of the turn on the 1000cc. That’s why most of the pass are from accelerating out of the turn.
Regardless of size, all bikes lean at the same angle for a given speed. It’s the same with power wheelies. They will all lift the front shell above a certain acceleration. That’s why they can’t compete with sports cars.

As someone who doesn’t ride, it’s really amazing how those tires can grip the track when the bike is leaned over so far.

Seeing these guys fly past for a second on the straights and then slow like they’re wearing a parachute in the breaking zones were the best parts 😂

Are you gonna tell me with your expert opinion that a 600 is this much quicker yet still when you look at damn near every track in the world the fastest laps are always 1000’s . ? An expert rider will be faster or almost as fast on a 1000. Notice I wrote “hardly” indicating that it’s “hardly” much different. I stand by my opinion. I’m not new to this world of track days, racing, riding world.

Even for an experienced rider, modern 1000cc bikes can be overwhelming. On a 600cc, you are always pushing the very limit, in every sense, because you feel "underpowered", that confidence totally rattles other riders.
Dunno why everyone keeps saying this lol. Guaranteed almost every if not every rider there pushes their 1000cc to the traction limit in every corner. 600cc is just more nimble and can do it faster.
Also you can definitely push the 600 too hard and lose it too.
I'd love to see what a rider from the 80s would think seeing people call these 100+ hp machines underpowered lol

I got too cocky with a 600 I has, I lost respect for it so I felt I needed to upgrade to a 1000 before I killed myself, 120 kills more electricians than larger voltages

These camera views are what F1 needs. It´s so engaging and fun to watch.
I just have to appreciate how tactical racing can get. The 1000cc guys know they can afford to lose some seconds in the corners because how much the bikes can pull in the straights. While the smaller CC guys know that they gotta go full 100% and take greater risks in cornering and overtaking as shown here.
Actually, no and I hate to do the actually, but the smaller cc bikes are so more manoeuvrable in the corners, the big bikes better on the straights. I had a 400cc and used to go out with the guys from work who all had 1,000'+ they would leave me on the straights then we got to the fun twisty bits and I would scream through the pack while they threw the anchor out to make this next corner. You want handling 400-600, you want straight power speed 1000+. As I was told any idiot can do 150mph+ in a straight line, but straight lines are not where the fun is. We can brake later and overtake on the left on right corner because our bikes are so nimble to do that, if the track was all corners and twists a 400 would win, a straight line a 1300 GSXR hiyabusa all day long.

Spend some time in the gym developing your legs, core (abs and back). If you are anchored to the bike (legs squeezing the tank, core muscles engaged, and weight the outside peg when cornering), you won't have much weight/strain on your wrists. In fact, you shouldn't have any weight on the grips. Your grip on the bar should be as light as cradling two baby birds in your hands.
It's a magic feeling when you're able to ride a bike correctly.
That is not a problem if your ergo set correctly and you have proper body positioning. That is purely from bad lessons learned in riding and managing weight properly.
I admire these motorists,... not for the usual reasons (skills/speed/etc) But for their mental state of mind : taking precise calculated risks, under enormous pressure and all this while on an ADRENALINE level regular people cant even comprehend! These species of humans have a complete different outlook of what it feels like to be ALIVE! much respect!

That logic certainly applies to snowmobiles and MX. But pavement allows for a way more forgiving tolerances. You aren’t battling for traction. You don’t have to be great on pavement to be fast.
I went from untouched in MX unless they had 3x the money, to supermoto where it more or less comes down to YOUR grip of your rubber. Much easier.
@@CJRSBK Depends on the track... We have two tracks around my town. The larger, faster track lap record belongs to the 1000 but the smaller, tighter track's lap record is held by a 600.

Reminds me of the Mini vs Yank Tank battles around Goodwood…..down the straights the Yank Tanks pull away with ease…but then have to brake way sooner allowing the tiny Mini to catch up and fly past in the corners…only for the YTs to repeat the process in the straights again lol

This is so much fun to watch. I love the way you have the beating of the bigger bikes everywhere except the straights, and even then you often get them straight back on the brakes at the end of the straight. Great riding and you must be having so much fun out there.
Thats because bigger bikes are best on the straight but can't turn for sh!t, smaller bikes can dance through the pack but don't have that straight line power.

Really interesting to watch your riding style evolve to accommodate the shorter braking distances and earlier power on points you can get away with on the 600, you were also slower flipping the bike through left/right chicanes initially due to the higher mass and CoG you were used to on the 1000. Great job! (Ex-675 rider here btw).

Considering they already sell the street triple throwing some fairings, clipons, higher rearsets and different gear ratios on it wouldn't be too difficult for them.

Watching how low you really get in the corners and transferring from a right to left that quick is amazing. I ride dirtbikes, supermoto and have ridden many street bikes but this is amazing skills.

You can really tell how much more agile the bike is, it's almost dangeorus because you basically overtook mostly by dive bombing in the inside abusing the far shorter braking distance. The guy on first was really pushing his bike too, amazing defense and pushing hard on the throttle out of corners.

The same would happen to me when I had my 450 on mx tracks. I was getting passed by 250s. I traded down to a less powerful powerful bike, developed my skills, have more fun, with no desire to move up. It’s more fun to ride a smaller bike at 100% than a big bike at 80% imo

1000cc riders dont hate on 600cc. The 600cc is just faster in corners and can be trashed around corners without wipeouts, 1000cc is harder to push around corners under powerband. Under lean angles smaller cc bike performs better than bigger cc bike, the 600cc delivers better cornering power under load without wiping out, where 1000cc cant be pushed too much under cornering because it's got too much hp and torque for your cornering.

honestly i was at the edge of my seat the entire time i love those battles for the next place ahead. as a seasoned rider but never had the chance to ride track. nothing is more exciting than hitting those corners as hard as you can. those moments where you feel like rossi.
this is first time for me watching the footage from a helmet on a race like this. it's so much better than how they cover these events on tv, though i'm sure the tech has improved with drones and what not.
The way you brake late but still make the turn cleanly and then carry so much speed exiting the turn is unbelievably good.

What a blast watching you! I remember my first days at the track with my 07 R6, I used to beat the 1000ccs on lap time and on the track cause I could brake later and accelerate faster on corner exits! They were mad at me for some reason! Now I am an old dad with a 2015 z1000 which is more powerful but never as easy to drive as that old r6.. good times.
I hear you. My older CBR 600 was a lot easier to play with on windy roads than my current ride, a Yamaha 900 triple. It just doesn't corner as efficiently and cleanly as that 600 did. Then again... Supersport VS sport.
Man ain’t that the truth. I use to destroy 1000s on my 04 GSXR600. Road the Tail of the Dragon 🐉 (AKA) Deals Gap 318 turns in 11 miles. I Won a lot of money being the far more technical rider. Ride your ride, ride safe two wheels on highway. Peace Gents!!!
@Dverial I still ride the 07 R6. I was planning on selling the bike but I'm just having to much fun with it :) And just like you said, you can smoke 95% of the 1000 bikes on a regular trackday.

I'll never forget a drag race against my buddy's 1200 Harley.
We were dead even off the line, and I let the clutch out fully at about 40. Bike went 12 o clock. Tapped the tire down and hit 2nd. 12 o clock, touch, 3rd, 12 o clock, I look over and he's looking at me with his mouth hanging wide open.

You reminded me of an Era where VR46 before entering a turn he was like he is not braking compere to others in front of him..and also reminded me of his Yamaha that was faster entering and faster inside turn but in the straight was weak. Of course its not a comparison but it is some parallel story as here...Great riding man keep it up!

From my limited experience of track riding( 25 track days with tuition), it doesn’t matter what size engine bike you ride. If you can’t use the power it’s no good to you. I had a dedicated GSXR600 for the track and would regularly be hitting the rev limiter. But when I took my Gixer thou on the same track I couldn’t use the power the same. In fact there were a couple of pro 125 racers there and they carried so much speed through the corners it was unreal. I managed to reel them back in on the big long straight but the did me every time in the corners. So don’t beat yourselves up about it. It just shows how good these lads are. 👍👍

Love that acceleration and deceleration sound of the engine on these bikes. Always love to hear it in the area when a street rider winds them up. Love the cameras angles. Nothing like dragging a knee in the corner.

Story of my life. Liter bikes pass you on the straights and park it in the corners. Very frustrating but at least it forces you to learn how to pass going into the corners.

Literally jaw-dropping, and I opened my eyes really wide on a couple of them!
Great racing! I went from a 600, to 1000, back to a 600 for the reasons demonstrated here. On the road, it’s just too difficult and unsafe to use all of the power of a 1000, but it’s easy to utilize the the diverse potential of a 600. Same with my cars; went up to 800whp, but came back down to 550whp because I had more fun in the 550whp on the road.

@@gilmadrid6322 The 600 is lighter. When I was riding, I was 5"8 155. Those guys that ride are at least 6"2 and at the very least 20 pounds heavier. They can get on top of the bike, I couldn't, but I knew where to tuck to make up for it. I know it sounds weird, but weight distribution is huge. So for me, the 750 was the most comfortable . I had the 90 GXSR 750 and that bike fit me like a glove. I felt bad for the pros because they were almost riding a trike.

Yep on a circuit like that a 600 is totally at home with all the corners & flicking.
When the 1000s briefly edge ahead on the straights, it's advantage is soon lost with the next corner and the more nimble 600s braking action.
Locally I used to do similar at Kirkistown on a 600, it feels great annoying bigger cc's 😁

Just comes down to rider skill, I ride my R6 and on the tracks here mostly turns so I've always been ahead. Great riding and fun to watch!

I love how @11:40 the 1000cc biker in front of him clearly slowed way down in the middle of corner just to throw off his attack and speed coming onto the straight. Going through that corner the dude was looking behind him the whole time basically brake checking him. Definitely a DB move when you are in front and have 400cc on the guy behind.

Amazing riding skills and great push! In my opinion the best track bikes are 600cc. They lack power on straights vs a 1000cc for sure but for a track with technical corners a 600cc will perform better. My opinion though.
Yes it perform better but, if a pro rider ride a 1000cc vs a 600cc with a pro rider also. 1000cc always win
GSXR 750 is probably the best of both worlds on the track. Also a triple is amazing. I had an FZ09 and the torque was just insane considering the engine.
@@jmap9821 agreed, a pro on a 600cc through skill can challenge 1000cc. but a pro on 1000cc isnt going to be challenged by anything other then another pro on 1000cc

Cornering responsiveness and cornering speed are the most important factors in determining lap times. The quicker you can lean your bike into a turn, and the more lean angle the bike has at the apex, the faster it will go around the entire track. The 600cc, being a narrower bike, allows you to lean slightly more and go slightly faster in the turns. The 600cc also has less rotational inertia, so you can lean quicker and load up the g-force for the turns quicker than a 1000cc rider can. This track appears to be better suited to the performance characteristics of the 600cc bike, as there are many low speed turns and the straights aren't very long.
i agree for road bikes but not for MotoGP bikes. if you look at Assen race in 2002, Rossi was toying with Barros on the 990cc RC211V and Barros was on the 500 NSR. the track was a very fast flowing track back then. he was following him in the corners and sandbagging on the straight for the whole race and passed him only 2 or 3 laps from the end. 25kg and 40hp difference between the 2 bikes. the difference with road bikes is in the weight distribution and engine inertia because MotoGP bikes engines run backwards which cancels a big amount of inertia. making the 990cc as flickable as the 500.
