What you don't understand is that police come in predisposed to Despotism and authoritarianism. You can not take a freedom loving citizen and change that mindset with six months of training . The academy only hones that predisposition but does not cause it. That is why no matter where you go, police all act the same.

    • @EvansvilleJill

A thousand hours, specifically of de-escalation training?!
Maybe I misunderstood and you were giving the total number of hours in general training that recruits have before they become officers.
The vast majority of law enforcement departments in the US offer NO de escalation training. Thirty-four states have no requirement for officer de escalation training. In fact there is a group of police educators that believe de escalation training puts officers at increased risk of harm.
Milwaukee works with a company called Vistelar for "Non-escalation/De-escalation" courses. Vistelar only offers a 4-5 hour course to Milwaukee's PD officers for de escalation training. Considering that of the law enforcement officers that do receive de-escalation training in this country the average amount of time is only one hour each year, if it's continued training.
Ironically the number one reason given for why PD's don't offer the training is money. Courses can range from $10,000 to $200,000 annually and those numbers are considerably less than settlements that taxpayers are forced to pay out when officers fail to de-escalate and Rights are violated and/or injuries are sustained.

A real reason is it is for the hours.
When they call another cop in, he can now document what he did with his time for the day.
Another good example is how many cops come to a murder, arson, or violent situation.
The other officers then can get overtime, or document that they are on a call and although we know they arent doing anything .

These idiots all drove at excess speed through night traffic in the wet to then escalate a situation, assault and taze a man because an armed egomaniac didn’t like the way he parked his car. Policing in America is murderously out of control, and deserve absolutely no respect. Want to respect a man or woman in uniform? Respect firefighters, who literally put their lives on the line, rescuing people and are always driven by helping and not oppressing.

Think about this: Sterling Brown, by contractual agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks, has a "morals clause" and team rules he must comply with. Along with the NBA Code of Conduct. Art.6 sect. 6.7 of the CBA says: " When a player is convicted of (including a plea of guilty, no contest, or nolo contendere to) a violent felony, he shall immediately be suspended by the NBA for a minimum of ten (10) games." Article 6.15 also says: *_"A Team shall not impose discipline on a player solely on the basis of the fact that the player has been arrested. Notwithstanding the foregoing, (a) a Team may impose discipline on a player for the conduct underlying the player’s arrest if it has an independent basis for doing so, (b) nothing herein shall permit a Team to discipline a player for his failure to cooperate with a Team’s investigation of his alleged misconduct if he has a reasonable apprehension of criminal prosecution, and (c) nothing herein shall prevent a Team from precluding a player from participating in Team activities without loss of pay to the extent it otherwise has the right to do so._*"

@Christa Simon If you watch videos on Real World Police, there are dozens of body cam cases where cops stop one of their fellow cops for drunk driving. When backup arrives, they immediately warn their colleagues, "My camera is on." Also, numerous cases where the drunken officer asks for a "favor, cop-to-cop," but the cops say they can't because, "It's all on camera. If it weren't, things might could be different." I'm not making this up.
Before body cams, cops probably ran rough shot because the never had to answer to anyone.

Multiply that by the 1800 officers in Milwaukee, that's 1,800,000 hours wasted. and I'm sure they were paid to do the training, so multiply the hours wasted by about 23$. Thats 41 million dollars of tax payer money wasted. They could have housed the entire homeless population of Milwaukee with that money. in fact i just did the math, there was an estimated 100 homeless people living on the streets last year in Milwaukee (it went down this year to 25 thanks to covid programs). if you divide the 41 million by the average cost of rent ($1200 a month), then divide by the number of homeless (lets go with 100), then divide by the number of months in a year, that's 28 years. They could have solved homelessness for 28 years with the cost of 1 year of useless cop training.

@@shookoneldn300 they would have killed cause he was black. It's not for nothing. It would have been in promotion of racism. To put fear in all AFRICAN Americans living in "WHITE" American. It don't matter if your rich, (even though that's what it actually has been about ;) deception)if your African then you are below white people and cops enforce this bias to uphold white dominance of USA. AND in return guarantee personal "privileges" or position of power for him and his race

I totally get your point and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for anyone to justify officers behaviour. As they say, the video doesn’t lie or take sides, but the police will and do lie. All officers were disciplined and one was fired for making derogatory remarks about Mr. Brown.
These officers should be ashamed of themselves because this sort of behaviour add fuel to mistrust in certain communities. Thank God Mr. Brown wasn’t another statistics.

@@shookoneldn300 I don't even think they should be fired lets do what the fucking crazy left PC movement is doing... Getting people depositioned or ostracizing them for simply having opinions, this is the treatment a cop or any human should receive for blatantly abusing their BORROWED power. Kinda why they have to dominate a situation... Cause the only real power they have is what you give away to them... dumbass left needs to get its head out of it's ass and stop attacking professor or easy targets, go after these fucking scum and make an actual change instead of worrying about someone getting butthurt cause I didn't know you had a dick hidden under your fake tits....

More Baconplease I can't speak for America other then what I see on youtube.
But in Denmark, 99% are not racists. some say we are. against Muslims. but thats all about what they do when they come to Denmark. do shitty things. and people will hate you.
But when I look at well know actors and such that are black say if you work for it you can get somewhere in life.
It's funny how people like black actors, but don't like black people on the street?
It's bullshit. people do not like or dislike blacks. it's the actions of some black people who ruin it for the rest.
Sure I know there are still racists in the world. but it goes both ways. blacks are also racists against whites.
And people who claim they can't be since they are in the minority do not have a clue of how racism work.
