@wowalinbie Well, the woman said that the man had keys "but didn't use them to anything", karen forgot that remote control of central locking is a thing.
"Saw you going into cars" is also a false accusation by the officer, the lady who called the cops said all the time that the man went into ONE car and that he had keys.
Easiest way for the cop to work this out would've been to check the registration plate, see the name on the SUV, then check the motorcycle, like the second cop did.
Basically, the officer saw a blackman and forged the whole thing by misinterpreting that going into ONE car somehow meant many cars.
Also, mind you, you cannot get into an SUV like that without keys, if you do it starts screaming bloody murder with it's alarm.
+ The man evidently had no crowbar or any other kind of tool to get into a locked vehicle and there was no damages to the SUV to show that locks were tampered with.
As an aftermath the cop assaulted the civilian for no reason and put him into handcuffs after tasing him.
The man is entitled to getting a large sum in settlement and that cop is entitled to getting fired for being worst cop of the year.

@@HellWrex Yeah not ACAB but how many of these videos have you seen where a cop does something clearly stupid, and no one calls him out on it? Or pulls him aside to maybe tell him it's a bad idea? I won't go as far as to say cops as a general rule are bad but the GOOD ones never seem to be around when someone's rights are being violated. It is hard for the average person to not view Police as a whole as the bad thing that the bad ones make them out to be. They have ULTIMATE power in every situation (don't resist, deal with it in court), have the force of the state backing them, the force of a union backing them. So no not ACAB but its also not my job as a civilian with less rights and authority than them to carry their water for them when they do shit like this. Mr. Domino may have said, "That was my car that I was rummaging through." The arrogant cop should have conducted the investigation differently, the woman did say at least twice that he left the car and didn't appear to have taken anything, but the cop jumped on the you stole some thing theme. He could have explained the situation and avoided all the BS. That cops needs to have one of three things done to him: 1. More training on de-escalating a situation 2. it's because of the distinction of ignorance of the law of officers being condonable above their duty. they are legally required to interpret the law to the best of their ability, but if they are wrong, and you agree with them anyway, the consequences follow through. basically, when a lawyer sucks at law, they get fired, but not a cop, and when a citizen sucks at law, they break them, but not a cop, because a cops job is to 'enforce' them and this somehow can instead of coming with perfect understanding of the law, comes with lots of mulligans.

I get where you're coming from, but it is a little out of the norm - his going through a car, then heading off. I suppose she could have let well enough alone and if it really was a matter of him stealing from someone's car, then that someone could have used store security cam footage... But maybe that wouldn't have been good enough to actually catch a thief? If someone was rifling through my car looking for something to steal, then I hope others wouldn't be too apathetic to do something about it. I'd like to think that she cared enough about another person to call for someone to sort out the situation. This could have been easily sorted out and all the drama avoided if officer dick face actually tried to figure out what was going on and keep the situation calm, instead of immediately asserting his authority. This is NOT how a free populce should be treated!
I'm certainly not anti-police either, but our police force needs a change in direction. Their training is heavily biased towards the physical aspects of an interaction - how to control, win every fight, to stay alive, etc. instead of blending it with learning how to deal with people - the psychological aspect of policing. When the only tool you have is a hammer, then every problem looks like a nail.
IMO, it's just as, if not more important because we are free citizens, not subjects to be ruled over..

I've always wondered how a person can be arrested for resisting arrest, when there were no other charges. "What are you arresting me for?" "For resisting the fact that I'm arresting you."

    • @PenguinAce
      @PenguinAce 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

It depends I guess? Like, they'll probably get the charge taken off in court depending on the situation, but even if you're completely innocent resisting arrest is not a smart move, you're better off getting taken in and then just legally dealing with it

@@PenguinAce that sounds good and all, but an illegal arrest is essentially kidnapping. Can’t blame them for resisting that

Agreed. It's not ethical or right but legally you want them to go ahead and arrest you. Simply state you are accepting the handcuffs and arrest under duress and from that point on envoke your 5th amendment right to remain silent. Next call should be an attorney. Fight your battle in court and not on the sidewalk where no one has ever won.
In fact, if we could get that point across to everybody the whole country would be better off.

Dumb citizen? Maybe by physically resisting. Is that your point? Other than that, he was a champion of knowing and asserting his rights. I can't help but wonder if he was white would the snitch have called the police. She said the car was unlocked. I bet he unlocked it with a fop. If so, her lack of attention caused that man so much bullshit.

Years ago, when I least could afford it, I had my car broke into and my stuff stolen, twice. I'd give anything for a Karen in my neighborhood, even if it meant a couple extra friendly interactions with law enforcement. The problem was not Karen, but the officer who didn't take the time to ask one simple question “Could you explain why you were going through that car on the opposite side of the parking lot?” “Yup, it's my car”.
      Problem. Solved.
This officer deserves 100% of the blame.
