Thank you for going over these videos I appreciate it and I also appreciate the way that you do inform us on what the law says. I like the way that you show the law and then orally present the law too. I have reading and writing comprehension problems so by not only showing it .explaining it let's me be able to soak up that information🙏

It's always a pleasure to like and comment on your videos. You deserve the support.
Surprisingly enough, even if there is a disagreement or I go on a heartfelt rant, my fellow commenters on your videos are polite and seem to enjoy honest debate. That's rare on TH-cam. It's too bad that that cannot be figured into the algorithm.

@Big Steve Criminal justice had been a big business already for quite a while (my favorite quote is below), but recently besides that, the numbers of cops have also obviously increased, to a degree where there's obvious overabundance of the police compared to their potential targets, so they are literally looking for every opportunity while patrolling the streets.
"Widespread use of drugs and proactive policing have created a 30-year
boom in jail, prison, and courthouse construction. In every city thousands
of people make their livings processing clueless petty offenders. These
include judges, bailiffs, attorneys, paralegals, cops, corrections officers,
court reporters, file clerks, receptionists, security staff, maintenance workers,
cafeteria cooks, jail bus drivers, mechanics, and so on. In my city, for
example, the riverfront skyscraper that houses the courts is no longer considered
sufficient, so a $300 million replacement is under consideration.
*Half the criminal justice system would be out of business if dope were
legalized* . You’d see cops on strike holding signs saying, “Bring Back
Our Dope!” Defense attorneys in tattered suits, with holes in their handstitched
Cole-Hahn loafers, would wander down the streets holding pieces
of cardboard saying “Will Defend for Food.” Dope’s not only a moral and
public health issue; it’s also a jobs issue for city and state employees and us
      poor little ol’ attorneys!
When you’re arrested and jailed, the state gives you a job, whether you
understand this or not. Your job is to provide state and city employees
with work. Think this isn’t so? Let me use an example. It’s a bit gruesome,
but that will emphasize the point. Ted Bundy, “the coed killer,”
was executed in “Old Sparky,” Florida’s electric chair. Afterward, a coroner
performed an autopsy. This sounds routine, but let’s ponder. After an
execution, is there any doubt as to the cause of death? After the electric
chair does its job, you’re toast! Does it really matter whether you pop up
light or dark or a bit charred around the edges? Was it important for a
pathologist to discover that Ted had a touch of artery disease or maybe a
kidney stone ossifying his nephrons? Basically, Ted was doing his job of
providing work for state employees. Even death cannot extinguish this
      solemn obligation.
Just the other day a bail bondsman and I were enjoying fine adult beverages
in moderation in one of the more elegant riverfront restaurants in
my city. My friend looked wistfully across the water to the jail and offered
a toast to “the gold mine.” The jail a gold mine? Of course it is. For thousands
of city and state employees, it’s a job, insurance, and a pension. For
my friend, and for many attorneys, it truly is an inexhaustible vein of
golden ore. My buddy has a 44-foot yacht to prove it."

Sure, in a situation where the person is reasonable and you believe informing them that their actions are a violation will correct the action in the future. When you have this lady, who is defiant to the end and simply will not listen to a single thing you say, I'd also cite her for the violation. A reasonable person would take the ticket and fight it in court if they truly thought they were in the right... oh no, but not this lady, this lady wont let you ticket her by with holding her information because of how utterly right she thinks she is. That is when you get situations like this, and if I were that cop I wouldn't let her just get away with violating the law because it was inconvenient to enforce it because of how petulant this lady is. Take your ticket or play stupid games and win stupid prizes. She chose the latter. Apparently they don't teach you that court isn't held in the streets by yelling down cops at her school.

GoodSteve123 So basically submit you’re rights because they have a badge and a gun. She was asking basic questions where he could have easily said that we didn’t have it on hand especially when it was something that minor. Explain the law to her give her the warning and inform her that she should research the state laws instead to avoid any future misunderstandings. Simple. But it seems to me like your view is the reason why a lot of police officers feel like they can do whatever they want. He turned a simple issue that could have been handled with more understanding into force because he didn’t like she questioned his authority. Let’s be honest.

    • @GoodSteve123
      @GoodSteve123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

@@bloodhx3697 No you don't "submit you are rights." You are a person.
It is not the job of the police to explain the law to you. If you are interested in learning the laws, feel free to do so. There are numerous ways one can accomplish this simple task, impeding a police officer who is currently undertaking their duties is not one of those ways. He could have told her all the stuff, sure, and she could have been polite instead of interrupting him every chance she got, and flippantly dismissing his points. She was rude to him and you want him to give her a break? What she did was a ticket able offense, that coupled with the fact that she was rude to the officer means he is well within his rights to give her a citation. In order to do so she has to, under law, provide her I.D. She didn't, that is interference and the second offense of the day. I'm not sure what rights you think she's forced to give up in order to adhere to traffic laws and provide her I.D. when being given a citation but I'll give you a little hint, there are none. She should have taken the ticket and fought it in court. She had a point about the lack of painted lanes on the road, the officer also had a point about driving on the correct side of the street. This would have gone a lot smoother if both parties weren't in a heightened emotional state but nothing the officer did was untoward. He is being paid to write citations to people breaking the law, this woman did that... that's pretty much the end of the story.

Giving out warnings or giving people a break are based on whether the cop wants to or not, so being rude to them and then expecting to be treated far better than you're treating them isn't a very good plan. That's pretty common sense. Her "being manhandled" was because she forced the cop to arrest her for refusing to ID and then pulling away from the police when they were arresting her. See, everything that happened and everything that everyone is so up in arms about is all due to this woman's failure to abide by the law.

@@JimCampbell777 Indeed I've literally had this same interaction with a police officer in UK, granted he seemed to think the change in tarmac colour where a utility had dug up part of the road was the centreline (despite being clearly on the left side) but still the entire interaction consisted of them telling me to cycle on the left hand side of the road and my response of yeah ok sorry officer. Granted I'm well aware disputing the matter at that point would have certainly escalated it but UK police are generally trained to deescalate and resolve the matter as quickly and painlessly as possible especially for such minor things, then again they actually train for more than the 5 minutes US police do too so maybe that helps.

Fixing the police is like trying to fix a broken dam that springs a leak ever time you fix the last leak...
I dont think we can fix it and need a new approach also.People think if your against this type of policing then your against law enforcement ,but in reality that its because I'm for better law enforcement I think the police should be abolished...
They cost to much and dont do much of anything to keep people safe and statistics prove that. For example when there was a massive explosion in a in the funding giving to police in the early 90's ,the only thing it lead to was more prison getting built, but did little to stop drug overdoses, murders and robberies or anything that really mmatters..They write millions of tickets and people still speed...
Police are a reactionary service that are called in after a crime is committed and dont ever seem to be around when people need them. Most likely because they are to busy writing tickets.
Even the police know they are of little use and that's one of the reasons they only the lowest class of people become police..
It's been that way since the police first started and the people that were made to do the patrols during the night watch..
It was often given as a punishment to the people in town that were on the fridges of society.Rather then risk anyone of significants or class, the town would often voted that the one of the poor and unruly would do this job...

I agree with the assessment from AtA. The cop's patience on the surface seems extraordinary, but if it fails to actually help the situation it's worthless. Even with all that 'patience' his frustration _still_ causes him to make mistakes.
A lot of the comments bemoan the girl but she stood her ground, defended her rights, and the stop was BS. How was she supposed to know he would only give a warning? He could have changed his mind at any time. The whole warning thing can't be seen as some kind of panacea cudgel. There is no denying that her tactic worked too.

I.e., the colonists felt the government wasn't following the law. It starts with demanding ID for no lawful reason. The "people in these videos on this channel that are detained, pulled over etc" are more often than not the subjects of unlawful detainments and arrests. If citizens, especially minorities, simply "handed over their ID" the cops will continue to become more and more brazen. Let's see how you feel after you're tazed over something an officer unlawfully orders you to do.

@james anonymous An Indian grandfather in Alabama was going home to babysit...cops are called cause he's walking while dark skinned. he's not told he's detained or offered a translator in spite of the cops implying they know he can't speak English. he didn't argue. he points to his home n states the address. they randomly slam him hard, paralyzing him. 10 of the 12 jurrors were white, n were the ones who acquitted the cop, in spite of video evidence showing he was slammed for nothing and didnt even pull away like the cops claimed. they didn't even pay his medical bill.
-ACLU, BLM (Black Lives Matter), most women etc: Still silent.
Black person and/or female arrested after being warned, with a crime stated, without being slammed so hard...
-BLM and/or ACLU: Uproar! Maybe protest (maybe riot too) to get results.
Also, men are given harsher sentences than women are for the same crime.
AND this girl plays victim for being black/female.
no, i dont think the cop should go this far for an ID, which is probably what he really wanted and that was his main flaw. too bad most commenters dont try to be as objective and considerate as this channel.

She disagrees with the fact that she did something wrong there and B. That she thinks she can get away with it.
