That’s why he kept rolling, exposing different parts of the suit to the ground.
The heat didn’t get built up in one particular place, and any burns from the friction would be greatly reduced by that action.

@@Numberonecock yeah numerous other people did it before with no problems. Somehow he lifted two fingers and it blew him right off… supposedly we’re to believe that unless he’s so precise in his movement that he’ll blow right off the bike. It makes more sense to me that he tried to do a fist pump in the air and lost his balance since he’s nearly laying down and at a very odd angle where you can easily slip off the bike.

Thanks alot for added thorough description. The fact that the motor was salvageable post crash is mindboggling, even though the forks acked as damping, the decelleration must've been well above 100g hitting the concrete wall.
I watched this video years ago on another upload I think, and I had absolutely NO thoughts that he was celebrating, however my take back then was he observed something wrong with the braking, and not his hand actually 'lifting off' at 350kmh. I've tried speeds at MC bike ~220mph and this was more than enough for me.
And thanks for de description of the driver, as an European I followed Top Fuel class dragsters broadcasted on prime channel, of which I at first hand since a guy in my neighbourhood was European Champion with his insane 7 engine Statoil dragster. I remember an event following funcars and dragsters, but when the MC rockets started it was too much for my nerves.

  • @FurryWrecker911

Terminal Velocity of a human being sprawled out is ~120mph. Tucked in the terminal velocity ups to about ~150-180 mph. Drag bikes can go a bit faster than that. If any part of your body sprawls out at those speeds, your body turns into a parachute, and the wind resistance will rip you off the bike. It's like a reverse tornado where instead of the wind grabbing you, you are grabbing the wind.
Edit: The video description has been updated at some point between when I made this comment and now. I recommend giving it a read. TLDR, was doing 230+, his fingers let go to reach for the lever, he caught too much air in his palm, and the video says the rest.
Also to all you thinking "Well I did X mph and was fine" well, yes, if you go a speed well under what a drag bike can do and don't let go I'd expect you to be fine. it's kinda obvious that so long as you don't let go or lose your grip on your handle bars that you won't get your arm ripped out from underneath you. Also sitting up straight vs letting go of something with your hand are two completely different actions that take place in two different regions of your body (or 3 technically because 2 hands), and I don't know why people are trying to equate them as being similar, but I'd like y'all to stop that. You can usually fight the forces against your torso with good hand and arm strength. Point is if you let your hand go, that's it. If the underside of your hand is the bodypart that catches wind, that's it. If you lose your grip, that's it.

I had a brand new pair of Draggin jeans on when a woman in a Ford Escort came into my lane and we hit head on. I can remember looking down at her through the windshield thinking this isn’t going to end well. When I landed I slid down the road about 100 yards.
The slide wore the denim off but didn’t go through the Kevlar. I also was wearing a heavy leather jacket, helmet, and Kevlar gloves.
Totaled the bike but I walked away from it without any road rash. My friend and riding partner was behind me and as so traumatized he sold his bike and never rode again.

In June 2013 at Sydney Dragway, Chris Matheson rode the Nitro Voodoo bike, an unusual motorcycle weighing over 500kg. It had a powerful supercharged 1.5-liter engine generating 1200-1500 horsepower on Nitro fuel. The bike accelerated incredibly fast, reaching 100mph within 1 second and performing impressive track times. During a race, a small bump on the track caused wind to lift Chris' hand off the handlebar at 230mph, leading to a crash. He suffered injuries but continued racing, achieving multiple national titles and records. The bike continued straight, crashed through barriers, and hit a concrete wall. Despite the crash, much of the bike was salvageable. Chris showed remarkable resilience by asking to prepare a spare bike from his hospital bed.

I’m so glad I’m female. That urge to do dangerous, risky things, and the lack of fear of those dangerous, risky things, doesn’t exist in me, and I’m so grateful. Testosterone makes some of y’all do the craziest stuff for no reason, and in addition, it’s quite a powerful anxiolytic, so you’re not even aware of just how scary/risky the behavior is. This is why women experience more anxiety than men in general, but that anxiety tends to keep us safer. It also keeps our car insurance and life insurance rates much lower, so there’s really no downsides.
Stay safe out there, men. You are loved and needed. Your families need you, and society needs you too. You contribute something to society that women alone cannot, and we need you on this earth. Please stop and think before you engage in risky stunts.

The wind didn't blow him off, he willingly jumped off the bike. You can take off your hand from the handles at that speed and nothing will happen. Look at AMA, SBK and MotoGP riders, they took off their hands at similar speeds and actually ripped off a tear off visor without being blown off by the wind.
I ripped off a tear off at 180mph while on the racetrack with my bike, didn't blow me off either.

@@slipangle3027 Almost, they can reach 227,4 mph (366,1 kph), which is not an big difference at all....
No one will be blown off the bike at 200+ mph just because of the wind, even if you take one hand off the handles.

That is a very scary vid!
And thank you for the explanation of what happened. Hitting the pavement at that speed probably should've been a lot worse than what you stated above.🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
AFter watching it again, you can see how is thrown off the bike rom the wind speed. WOW!!

Thanks for the detailed explanation in your description. Puts this video under better context and ends up giving the guy more respect than what it looks.
By the way where & when are you exactly at the finish line?

Thanks for the description, I thought maybe his accelerator got stuck so he bailed. It really did look like he sat up and stepped off the bike at first.

Glad he survived. It almost looks like he was confused and thought the bike was stopped. Then simply stepped off the bike and quickly learned that whoa, were are moving.

Absolutely incredible to watch, more so because he was alive and well after that serious shunt.
