More videos on entry level equipment mods would be cool to see, I imagine a number of your viewers would also run this type of set up. Really enjoy your non biased reviews mate

For now I'm a low end user, Still using my G25 i got when they was released all those years ago. May upgrade to a G29 as my wheel is old and tired. Interestingly the G25 doesn't have that problem with the throw. The paddles are pretty close to the point of click .
Well now that's a very cool add-on. I'd love to do something like that for my Grandson's Rig. I have a new G27 sitting on the shelf. But when building his rig, my wife found a Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel at a thrift store for $15. This Wheel is from 2005, yet this one looks brand new. The wheel has 900 degrees of rotation, but for now I've got it turned way down. The little guy knows how to do Hand-over-hand but he has over things to focus on. It has the tiny little shift buttons. Because the buttons are spring loaded, mounting some paddle shifters to the wheel should not be hard and this Magnetic Shifter Mod would be the icing on the cake.
Just ordered this, installed the TrueBrake mod yesterday. Getting the old G920 feeling good while I save up for my CSL DD and load cell pedals. Truebrake mod made a huge difference, I have to say. With this mod as well I think they are the two best bang for your buck mods on the Logitech wheel series.
I got the magnetic shifter mod and it makes a very big difference. Very positive shifts compared to the standard G29 configuration. Well worth the money.
What a game from past, still hypes you on a stock ride, like, it's 16 years old now. Ps. I'm 15 and I've been playing NFS Underground 2 for 11 freaking years Nice video tho!
i have to admit i came into this video (i own a g29) thinking i dont mind the paddles, but after seeing the install and the performace you completly roused my interest, i have so many of the mods for this wheel set and this could be the final one i need
@@boostedmedia theres a company in italy called 3Drap, i have the gt and formula brake mod to add stiffness, loader rins to inscrese the tension on the acc and clutch, also i have the better h-patten and sequentiaql shifter mods too

Mine arrived today (Canada post slooooow) and it is brilliant. This might sound like total BS, but did some of my faster times in ACC last night with this installed. Just made everything feel for precise, so my driving got more precise as well. I can wait for the DD CSL with more patience now.....
Damn, this game defined who I am today. If it wasn't for it I'd probably not be into cars, yikes. My parents gave it to me on my 7th birthday in '04, I'm sure my ma now regrets it lul. Thank you for the trip down memory lane
Another fantastic video ..I want to get the G29.as I couldn't afford the 1500 dollar wheel you have..my only stick on the G29 is why for the life of me they didn't include the magnet plates in the first place..I mean who was doing the testing back then..did you know they also have mods for the pedals..as I have heard the brake pedal is a bit stiff!!

Since there are multiple sources this kind of product I’m wondering which one is best. I’ve seen ones with bigger magnets, dual magnets and dual magnets but the mod is in two pieces. Anyone happen to know if one of them are superior over the others?
i shimmed inbetween the ally plate and the button with thin double sided tape and a 1.5mm piece of plastic. makes a good enough difference for shifts and is cheap to do. did that on my G27 and the G920.
Hey djs - as Will mentioned there is a captive nut held inside of the plastic. This is why I put the warning note to not over-tighten the screw - while it is held in place firmly if you really tighten the mod down there is a potential that the nut could turn and strip the inside of the holding out. This does require quite a bit of torque but it is possible.
I have a g25 and the shifters feel better then anything logitech released since. The only thing they improved since is the brake pedal. The rest is worse quality. Only downside is less buttons but ill happily sacrefice that for a more solid feeling wheel. The g920 and g29 in store felt really cheaply made a d the shifters flimsy.
@@chobbs3384 the only noise i have on my g25 is the sound of grinding gears with gigh ffb settings. i turned down the ffb to a more reasonable level and its silent. i would like to replace them with metal ones buty thats about it no sound otherwise.

Hey Rolando! The way I describe magnetic shifters to most people is to compare a mechanical keyboard to a soft key keyboard. The mechanical keyboard simply has a much more positive response and there is much less chance of a mis-shift because the effort to pull the paddle is increased. It's difficult to explain but the moment you feel a magnetic shifter vs. a stock switch it is quite literally night and day. @@rolandofuentes6444 Magnets to closely simulate the positive mechanical action found on the cars you mention. The stock shifters feel spongy by comparison and the point of contact is less well defined. Mag shifters feel great.
Interesting review and like the product, but I do question if abt $40 Aud is worth 4 magnets and about 10% of the cost of the wheel? Am keen on your thoughts if this is value for money.... I would guess it is up to personal preferences?
It is a little pricey, unfortunately, 3D printing is still quite expensive. Whether or not it's "worth it" is subjective to each person's circumstances.

Put carbon fibre magnetic shifters on my Thrustmaster F1 wheel after the switches started failing. Fantastic upgrade, definitely recommended.

some Teflon tape would be a good idea that way the ring will not slip back over time

Get a load cell brake upgrade or a TrueBrake mod. Makes a huge difference to braking, consistency and lap times.
