Hi I just got an FX3 coming from Fuji Xt3, so im new to Sony focus. Shooting with the Tamron 28-75mm.
I have a wedding soon and was wondering what’s the best settings to get the bride walking down the isle to have her in focus. Manual vs auto, face detect or no ect. I don’t want to make a mistake, thank you!
Congrats on the next FX3!! So, for the walk-in and really for the whole day I usually have my focus mode on "wide" with face-detect ON and I also turn on the tap-to-focus so I can tap on a face if I need it to specifically follow someone and it's not catching. In my experience though, it's worked super well on full-auto mode!
@@joshrexford is it possible when shes walking down the isle the camera locks on to another face in the crowd? or is it possible to aim the auto focus somehow? on fuji i had a box
@edi18912 that’s where the tap focus helps! You CAN set the focus area to a smaller window and then aim it too, but I’ve found it pretty accurate on the “wide” mode and then if it doesn’t catch I can just tap on the brides face.
@@joshrexford thank you , i was wondering when we touch to focus and it locks onto somethin, if something else moves infront of it it loses focus, is their a way to stop that?
people keep saying that the 800 and 12800 is the cleanest iso but i found that 12800 has more noise then even 1600 iso, so i dont understand ? @@joshrexford
Great video, really enjoyed watching your process. But why not go with the Sony FX6 if you want a dedicated video solution?
Absolutely valid question - I went FX3 because of the portability. I'd love the built-in ND of the FX6 (and maybe in time I'll add one and use both alongside each other), but with them having effectively the same sensor, the size/weight of the FX3 was super appealing.
Nice rig. I shoot with canon R6 I. Love it. I will have to watch your decision making video as to choosing sony vs canon video centric camera...
