My Mom told me that I wasn't her kid and there had been a mix up in the hospital, and she also said she wished...well a lot of negative things... She wasn't trash, she was damaged. I survived.... Her sister had a kid who ended up having to live with his grandma because she liked to party, neglected her son and never really acknowledge him properly even after she married again. He survived too. The two sisters grew up with bombing every day for two years... With this couple...who knows. But it seems to me the social services are as much of a problem as these parents....There are two problems - moral righteousness and outrage, and indifferent social service operatives/family members....

I don't think the brother is "sketchy". I think it pains him to have to speak about his sister this way; her parenting failures and substance abuse, and toxic marriage. He communicated his concern for her children, and even stated that he offered to keep them for her to figure her life out. It can't be easy to take part in a hearing like this, with his sister and jerk husband staring him down on the screen. I always feel bad almost everyone who has to be involved in these messes. It's heartbreaking, and I just hope things work out for the children. It's entirely up to the parents to straighten themselves out.

He mentioned seeing them on holidays etc. imagine Christmas dinner after you testified against your sister and she lost her kids. I’m sure he will have to answer to his mother as well since the mother was hiding Ms. Sheffield and the children.
Aside from that peoples memories are not a video tape that can just be replayed at will. I doubt when he would talk with his sister about things in her life he was taking mental notes of dates times and exact convos so he could later testify in court.

My oldest son and dil were asked to take a 6 week old baby of my youngest son's ex girlfriend. Crazy but true. She had a sister, 3 brothers , father, multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. No one in the family would take this beautiful baby boy, because they had dealt with the mother's drug abuse and mental health issues for years. After 18 months of mother not doing anything to get her son back, and constant threats of violence and harassment online. My son and dil adopted my now youngest grandson. He's the youngest of five grandchildren. I could not love him anymore than I do. He is now 4, when he gets home from daycare (where everyone loves him) and yells Grammy I home. Is the absolutely best part of my day.
I understand why the extended family might not want involved in their insanity. I just hope the parents straighten up or they find someone to love these children as much as my grandson is loved. Every child deserves to be loved and cherished.

Many yrs ago, I worked at an elementary school. On my way to work, across the street from the school, I found a little girl, naked, wet, and alone, reaching her hand thru a fence with a Viscous Dog sign on it. I estimated her age between 3&4, but she was totally non verbal. I jumped out of my car, wrapped her in my coat, (it was cold) and put her in my warm car with a blanket out of the back. I knocked on doors and nobody in the neighborhood knew who she was. I took her to the school. We took a picture of her and walked around the classes to see if anyone knew her. Nobody did. Then we called 911. Police came. Then more police, EMS, and the fire dept came. They knocked on doors for blocks in every direction. Nobody knew her. The little girl, again, was totally non verbal. Finally, after 4 hrs of going door to door, flashing lights from all the emergency setvices, they decided to take her to Children's Services. She wouldn't go to anyone else, nor let go of me, so they asked me to go with her. It was a 35-40 min drive in the police car. Just as we pulled into Children's Services parking lot, the officer got a call they had found the mother. We were told to bring her back. By now, we are at like 5 hrs gone, and then the long drive back. Mom's excuse was she put her in the bath & nodded off! What?? Her door had been knocked on by me and 2 different officers. There were fire trucks, local and county LE cars, and an ambulance with flashing lights almost directly in front of her house, but she nodded off with her toddler in the bath for a moment. When we pulled up, I didn't want them to just hand her back, but they made me! I was sobbing! Mom just walked up to the car & waited. When I got the child out of the carseat in the police car, mom just said "Get in the house you little shit!". The cop was now crying too, but his supervisor said he had to give her back. Nobody in the neighborhood had EVER seen the girl, even the next door neighbors! The girl was non verbal, but understood when you talked to her, and was very loving to me. Police filed a report with CPS, but she should never have gone back till they could show she would be safe!

If it goes to trial the accused has the right to know their accuser. If you wrote and signed a statement they could use that but it would still identify who you are. Thats why its so hard to get a conviction based on a confidential tip. They will have to investigate the tip and find evidence of the crime. Where if a witness just calls and says they will testify thats all they would likely need.

Happens far to often. I try to avoid any situations like this in public. The way some parents talk to their children even in public is enough to get me emotional. And yet I am a parent so I should be able to understand the frustration and limited patience at times for parents but I find it difficult to listen too. Some parents are so cold, lazy and just cruel sometimes. Just want to shake them. Remind them that there are far better ways to manage your little ones without literally crushing their spirit or embarrassing both their children and themselves in the process. They’re only children for Pete’s sake. I think some people forget.

Like, agreeing on a calm time and place with CPS, and taking the appropriate time to talk to the kids to explain what was going to happen, as age appropriately as possible, and make it as smooth a transition as possible, even if it was shattering my heart into a million pieces. Instead she acted out of pure selfishness, no care for how that would scar those kids for life. CPS did nothing and it only caused a huge family rift that went on for almost a decade. It could also cause contact to be cut off. So in this case the brother had called and CPS did nothing it would have caused a family rift. There's also a chance that the dad would have isolated his wife and children from her family. Therefore the family could not keep an eye on the children. This happens a lot.

If you work for CPS my one and only piece of advice. Document every single interaction. And then get a signature from at least one party after the interaction. I did this faithfully as a caseworker and I had a teen and her adopted family who got angry at the judge (rightfully so) for not moving the case along but the judge let them believe it was on me. So they filed a complaint with the state on me. When the state came in to do an audit on me the family was PISSED to get a letter back from the state saying that not only had I fulfilled my duties but I had gone above and beyond. (Which I didn’t. I just documented everything I did and if everyone did that people would have an understanding of how much CPS workers do, and who is doing the work and who isn’t).

Uncle or w/e too worried about sisters feelings to do what he knows he should to protect them. The more he talks and clearly misleads or lies to keep sister happy, the more infuriated i get. Truly disgusts me to my core
Haven't had a case bother me this much besides the one where 12 y/o testified. I don't like any of the adults in this situation

This video is absolutely disturbing and disgusting…… I have a daughter and I can’t imagine treating my little girl like this. How can a father be like that? I won’t say what they deserve, but if we started holding these disgusting type of parents accountable this shit wouldn’t happen, taking the child is most likely what they want and they don’t care, throw them in jail and throw the key away.

I completely understand both sides on the girl getting bullied. I just went thru this with my son. We went to the principal and completely unexpected they went full throttle and opened an investigation had the school board involved and that was all in 24 hrs. Completely different from when I was in school 25 years ago. You had to just suck it up back in the day. So I get the dad going off, that used to be needed. Thanks your videos are getting better and better!

I wanna say, I submitted a report to CPS a few weeks ago about my brother who has been using meth and terrorizing his kids, my niece and nephew. He has a live-in girlfriend who is also equally addicted and violent. I have a letter that my niece wrote detailing some things she has been through. she is 11. CPS took the report and sent it through "Alternative Response." They literally deemed that report not a threat. Did I mention my brother is a RSO? Did I mention he is on probation right now for burying a body? I'm about to start dropping documentaries on the $hit I know... It's too much and I have to put it somewhere....
EDIT: The video drops have started. I linked it all in my profile. Hopefully they'll do okay.

I hope they are able to intervene. I wonder if you keep contacting CPS? Squeaky wheel gets the grease unfortunately, but without many eyes on them, sometimes that does NOTHING at all!
That's why I feel these types of videos are so important for the public to access. We must have transparency for accountability for these children's well-being!!
Can you contact his probation and tip them off to his drug use? I wish I knew more ways to help!! Your family will be in my thoughts 💔

@@cv6442 I have already spoken with his PO. She is the one I sent the letter to, to forward for the first CPS report. She is a mandatory reporter, I made sure of it before I sent it and spoke with her personally beforehand and got her email. Gave her the whole backstory about how I was his first victim, and that he was also violent with me, the same crap his little girl is experiencing. 3 weeks later I gave my own report and this time I was angry. I had just gotten news that after living in a camper for 3 weeks, they were being evicted from the land they were on and the reports of violence in this little camper were off the charts insane. Again I relayed the letter verbally...You have to understand, CPS knows, I know, these children's bio mother was 16 when she began dating my brother in his mid 20's. they split up many years back and a couple mother's days ago, she committed sui_ide. CPS understands the trauma these kids have endured and they have a healthy aunt that can take them on the maternal side. I don't have the space for courts to deem fit. i'm raising 3 of my own, but the point is there is better placement and DFPS ignored it.

@@emilyward4388 ugh i'm so emotional over this, let me try to respond like a sane person- this has been going on for 2 years. I first dealt with them over this, 2 years ago, and I just sent another email to the current caseworker, today. However, they closed the "case" within 3 weeks of my last report, so 3 weeks ago. Everyone always says, "keep contacting CPS" as if that means something. No offense but those are the ones who aren't dealing with CPS. The case worker told me verbatim, " CPS isn't what it used to be." If the caseworkers feel hopeless, how do you think I feel? Or the kids? at this point even the kids don't want to speak. Last time they did, when he threatened to k_ll them 2 years ago and I sent the kids to school straight to the counselor to report, it got them silenced. CPS did nothing and the kids felt abandoned. They haven't been open since.

That’s when you go above their heads. You can contact the Supervisor (get any & all proof & go public) you can contact their school inform them bc they are mandated reporters so they’ll have to report it, you can go straight to your local police dept as well. If that all fails you can really piss them off and contact your Commissions office they will record a “in take” report & investigate. Also, if they are using Methamphetamines in the home it’s highly likely the children will have it in their system. That drug is worse than pure tar H. I wish you all the best

Shame on both of these parents for their behavior, they are putting their kids through so much, and they likely are blaming the system and everyone else, but taking accountability. I believe accountability is really the root of all of it, those willing to take accountability can make changes, those who refuse to will never grow
