I raised kids, I cannot fathom leaving a new born baby alone, unattended, for a second. Good Grief! Then again, with my FIRST son (yep 1st time parent), I had heard a news story one night about a local SIDS case and for a week I slept on the floor next to his crib and set an alarm to go off hourly. I would reach into his crib and wiggle him to make sure he was ok. My wife told me not to worry and asked me to stop doing that. With my second son, I would chunk him in his crib knowing he would be fine. 🤣

I love first time new parent stories. I was so afraid my new born would have SIDS I refused to leave her in a room without me 24/7. I needed to watch her breathe. My husband said nothing. He was afraid I was going to make him stay up all night. He had to go to work . Second baby ? I learned how to sleep and check in the morning.

Well certainly not newborns and toddlers, but my pre-teen/teenager I will leave home alone and my youngest is 9 and I will leave her alone for like what.... 30 minutes-ish while I go get gas or a short grocery trip. Everything is right by the house so the drive is like 3 minutes. They have phones and communication and all know the fire safety plan and how to call 911 for emergencies. It really is a child by child basis. Like my oldest wouldn't be left alone at age 9 because he wasn't responsible enough, but my two girls had a higher responsibility understanding and abilities. The only one of my kids I can't leave alone for any point in time is my 13 year old boy because he is on the autism spectrum. While I know he would be fine for a short period on his own, he has a history of violence towards his siblings so he would NOT be fine being left alone with them for any period of time PLUS the law says due to his special needs, he can't be left alone without someone at least 18 years of age.

@@katherineduke3232 I agree that it is a child by child basis. Around 9 or 10 is when I would allow one of my daughters to remain home if I went on a jog or a quick trip to grocery or pharmacy, literally 1 mile away…if she didn’t want to go with me. No way was my other daughter ready for that until she was much older.

Hardly ANY children are taken from their homes! And if so, it is usually a close relative. American parents are driving me nuts with their over-protectiveness. But, Bonnie doesn't think she should have to do so becuase the other county has already done drug tests and she has the info from them. Well... then you shouldn't need to delay moving forward. And if you knew there was a chance the trial may have gone forward today you should've been ready. I don't care how inconvenienced her client is. Did you intend to say "a sundress" or "a sleeveless dress" vs simply "a dress" because lots of attorneys wear appropriate dresses to court every day 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm sorry, but I just love me some Ms Bonnie. 😆 It tickled me so much every time she objected to the other female lawyer because she did it with a little smirk or giggle. I'm a Texas farm girl born and raised, in the same area as this court actually, and she absolutely seems like someone I would associate with. To me, she seems caring, genuine, and truly there to get to the facts. No beating around the bush with this one. As my grandma used to say, she'll tell you how the cow ate the cabbage. Love it! 💜

The laughing and giggling comes off as making a mockery of the Court and the case matter. Not to mention she seems quite interested in her looks, constantly fixing her hair.
Half my family was born and raised in Texas and they find nothing funny about CPS cases.

So you think it's funny that someone who's defending a woman who *left her newborn alone while she left the house* is going while she objects to someone who's actually trying to keep that kid safe?

@endofsanity that's her job. They have to give defendants the beat defense possible to make sure justice is served
