This is what we call neuropathic pain. What we have here that we can perform at Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas are what are called electrodiagnostic studies. These include EMG and NCB studies.
EMG stands for electromyography, and nerve conduction velocity testing. The test is designed to see if there is any nerve entrapment or nerve damage that is a source of your pain. The test can be slightly uncomfortable. The test involves using a gadget that delivers a small electrical impulse, at which time we're able to measure the speed and size of the nerve function.
The test does also involve a small needle that records the electrical activity of your muscles. This test allows us to identify if there's any nerve entrapment or nerve damage as a source of your pain.
So what we do is we put different electrodes on different places on the arms or the leg, depending on which body part we're testing. We send an electrical impulse, which travels through the path of the nerve, through the spine, into the brain. The brain states that the signal was received and will send an impulse back. And we're able to generate a tracing that indicates whether that was done as fast as it should be and if the response is as big as it should be.
And if there's any slowing anywhere along the path of the nerve, we'll be able to localize it. So patients that have had a pinched nerve in their neck that's causing neuropathic, or what we call radicular type, pain, this can be helpful in diagnosing the exact level at which the nerve root is damaged. Patients who also have symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome or cubital tunnel syndrome, or patients that have generalized complaints of weakness, burning, numbness, tingling could benefit from an electrodiagnostic evaluation.

I rarely experience numbness but that burning sensation (pins and needles feelings) is my normal major problem I deal with a lot especially when I'm in a tight, stressed heated place... As I'm talking I'm feeling it now

I have burning sensation in both hands and feet 24/7 but when I raise either my arms and legs the sensation goes away. I think it could be neck related as I do have wear and tare in my neck below my skull
I heard it could be a vitamin deficiency B1-B12. Also pregabalin aka lyrica (strongest dose) Works well. And eating healthy no sugar, salt, eat salads and intermittent fasting might help
I really think you may be right ! I fasted for 16hours today and did NOT have no episodes of burning on my body or heat attacks . After fasting I ate a high salt meal along with ice cream and apple pie and then shortly after the extreme painful burn and heats attacks started right back .

@@gauravnarodey8021 80 seems good . What I found extremely helpful is increase intake of vitamins along with a total body cream called Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Itch Relief Balm. It’s a long name but the cream contains colloidal oatmeal .

It sounds like something with your spine. You need to see your PCP as soon as possible.
Interesting well it started after Pet CT scan and lymph node biopsy from my thoracic region of the chest and upper abdomen

My burning pain is everywhere. Face chest arms legs. No matter how much I search it’s always categorized by body part or peripheral neuropathy with no known cause or fibro which it isn’t. i have it from 12 years on. it started from feet then expanded to hands then to whole body. several times i went to hospitals. i tried B12, vitamin D and Calcium. but did not help. now i am doing another round of check up with neurologist. doc has suggested me to take pramipex. dont know what is going on in my body.
It started with a tingling in my neck which spread as numbness in my left arm that started becoming so bad that I couldn't sleep. I started taking nerve calming pills and it doesn't tingle that much(still does but rare) and now I feel a numbness in my left arm and upper-side body(left). I haven't had a night of sleep in a month. What could it be?

@@andreanorman9808 sure did! I found a chiropractor that also does deep tissue massage and muscle trigger point release. Had about 7 visits of the past few months and am waaay better. I had intense tight upper torso muscles that needed to be loosened.

HEY COULD SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE I have metal rods and screws in my lower back and I'm on the methadone program it use to Take my pain away but nw methadone doesn't take me pain away anymore nw I only take it because I'm dependent on it.but for the last 8 weeks I've had these bad headaches n also getting cold tingling feeling different parts over my head I've told my doctor bt she thought I was overtired because a few weeks I was telling her I was tired but I'm not but she us useless I don't know what to because I can't go to the emergency department at the hospital because I have a management plan because I used to be in and out of the emergency department alot and now I'm not allowed a bed I have wait in waiting room for the doctor and that takes along time I don't know wat to do because I'm paranoid that it could be something more serious and the emergency department don't care about me

I'm on dialysis. I have been having the same problem. I don't know who to talk to. I went to the ER. They said my potassium was up high. Then they sent me to the hospital to get dialysis for 3 hrs. I had just got dialysis the day before. I dialysis 3 times a week for 3 hrs & 30 minutes. My body is still tingling on & off. Some days it tingles very badly. It wakes me up out of my sleep...I don't know what to do. It hurts so bad I holler out because the pain feels like someone is stabbing me. I was told it would go away once I dialysis. It haven't went away yet!😩
