Active Release Therapy has helped me (A.R.T) in combination with acupuncture. Up here in Canada some Chiropractors are trained in ART and acupuncture. I'm now using the Kineon Move + red light/laser on my hamstring, below my knee on the outside of my leg, and near my ankle. I had sciatica when I herniated my disc and the small toe and part of my left foot on the outside is numb. I once had treatment and the feeling in my small toe came back but then went back to being numb. It might be too late for me to totally fix it but I feel less tension now using the Kineon.

I went to an Acupuncturist who was highly recommended by a lot of people I know. She was amazing. After my first visit with her she told me a few problems she noticed during her examination. Three visits later, I had no more tingling in my legs and feet, not more back pain and even noticed I slept a lot better at night. I go for tune ups every three months and follow for the most part, eating patterns she suggested and what foods to eat less of. No big changes, but ones that actually made sense and helped. i wish I had known about her years earlier.
Sadly, I can't get Medicare to help pay for it, but they do pay for BS medical care I got from Dr's who did me no good.

Thank you! I finally found the name for my most pressing problem. I've described the symptoms to multiple doctors and have told them what I thought it was (I seem to be right), but the GPs never diagnosed the problem. They scratched their heads, took measurements of nerve transmission in my legs and did an XRay of my spine, but nothing. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome as you described it perfectly matches my experience. I have very flat feet and I've walked very long distances for years until this problem cropped up. Well it was sort of progressive starting with pain on the bottom of my feet. I'll be taking this to my GP next week and - from what I gathered from this video - will ask for a referral to a podiatrist.

So far, all they have wanted to give me is injections and medication to the point that I refuse to get them anymore because it has not stopped the pain. I honestly do not think they really know how to deal with the issues that I am having. I will continue to follow you to get some clarity with diagnosis and treatment. What ive learned in life is no one wants to be wrong. Especially a doctor😂. The chiropractic field is so underrated as most drs seem to think it is not significant to the patient. WHY?? Because there is no medication or surgical situations involved. Please.. Please do your body and life a favor and find a reputable doctor. The spine is the most important map system to your body right up there with vascular. Thank you doctor it is very true... "The more you know".. Knowledge is truly power.

I have seen many specialty doctors for the tingling and burning in my feet and legs and none have been able to tell me conclusively what the problem was let alone to treat it. This video seems to explain very clearly and concisely what I started to suspect myself, a nerve compression in the spine and maybe the ankles. I am going to schedule an appointment with my doctor and refer to this video to ask for a new exploration into my symptoms. Thanks!

Thank you for showing diagrams along with your explanations. As a more visual learner I was able to isolate what has been going on with my foot. A lot of resources say that diabetes is very likely, but considering how I just got a blood test for my physical and my doctor (who is quite good to me) didn't flag anything close to diabetes and actually said my levels improved overall, I knew that couldn't be the case. Seeing that my numbness is coming from the S1 and that it's connected to back issues, I have a good starting point of how to treat it.

The increase of these two symptoms could rise from external sources. Such as what we ingest into our bodies or what we are exposed to in our atmosphere.
Radio and microwave comes to mind.
Something I might pursue a little more.

I hope the surgery for your cancer was successful. Consider talking to your doctor about the numbness. Often an EMG can diagnose what is causing the numbness and tingling after surgery and then you can use that to go down the best treatment path.

Very informative, I’ve been having tingling issues under balls of my feet for awhile. I see now some of the symptoms, and one is the lower back and sciatica nerve. Now I’m recovering from LKTR surgery and I’m certain that pathway has been compromised. Hopefully as I improve from LKTR I hoping the nerve repairs itself. At least things making sense. I’m
In NJ I may have to come see you.

Re the last comment, I forgot to add the symptom of intermittent lower back pain when standing and walking which disappears when sitting or lying down, and which can disappear
after 20 mins of normal speed walking, and which sometimes descends into the left buttock. The question is: what should a doctor do to identify the cause(s) so that correct treatment can be applied? Diabetes is not a factor.
    Many thanks!

Thanks for a very informative video. I've had peripheral neuropathy for three years, unsuccessfully trying a number of treatments, and trying to lessen the discomfort with Gabapentin. FWIW, I quit the Gabapentin and finally got relief and progressive improvement with 600mg of R-Alpha Lipoic Acid daily.

Thank you for your kind feedback. Treatment really depends on the diagnosis. So the first step of treatment has to be an accurate diagnosis of what is causing your symptoms. If you are having numbness and tingling, often a nerve test is helpful to trace out where the problem is coming from.

Thank you Dr Cooper. That was very interesting. You mention you can cure carpal tunnel syndrome and I would like to know the best way forward with this as I have recently been diagnosed with it, but no help has been advised except wearing a splint to neutralise the wrist with no further guidance for the future.

    • @PrincetonSpineJointCenter
      @PrincetonSpineJointCenter  ปีที่แล้ว +5

There are lots of ways to get carpal tunnel syndrome better. The basic evidence based conservative options would be bracing, physical therapy, ultrasound guided injection and surgery. If bracing around the clock isn’t helping then you may want to talk to your doctor about the possibility of an injection. Therapy can also be really helpful. Surgery is of course a last resort but is minimally invasive and does tend to be very effective. Alternative therapies would include things like acupuncture, which some people definitely report good results from. Bottom line - there are a bunch of options and it depends a bit on your nerve test results. The first step for you sounds like to go back to your doctor and make a comprehensive plan moving forward.
