Rep Stainless Steel Power Bar v2 Review

  • Rep Stainless Steel Power Bar v2 Review. I bought this Rep Fitness power bar with my home gym set up and decided to buy the stainless steel version because I lift in my garage gym. I was concerned about rust and corrosion on a bare steel bar, so stainless was the way to go for me. The Rep stainless steel barbell is a great addition to my home gym. This 29mm barbell is stiff and works best for bench press and squats but can be used for deadlifting as well. The knurl on the Rep stainless steel power bar v2 is more passive than I am used to. I prefer a sharper knurl and do wish that I had bought the deep knurl version of this barbell. A stainless steel barbell is perfect for a garage gym where you deal with high humidity because stainless will not rust like a bare steel barbell. When choosing bare steel vs stainless barbells, there is no drawback going with stainless except for the higher price tag.

I knew as soon as I unboxed this one I had made a mistake. Actually when I received my Ohio Power Bar I was worried about the Rep bar I had en route and was pretty sure I should have opted for the deep knurl.

You really would like it, but you don’t need it now. I have a Rogue Ohio bar with more passive knurl so I know what you’re saying! Lol

Good review bud . What bar do you like best for bench ? I was thinking of getting the v2 for that specific reason . I find the deeper knurrwl ones uncomfortable under heavy loads.

I prefer the Ohio Power Bar out of all that I have used so far.

Do you have more of those weight it out plates? I’d like to see someone do a review on them.

Hey man. Have you noticed any rust start to form? I've heard from some that rust can form since the SS quality isn't very good.

Put 1500# on it and let's see if it holds up when you bench!
