Back in the day, there was a term called farm strong. You had the guys who worked out in the gym and played sports, but you had the other kids who grew up doing physical labor and work, and nothing can replicate that strength.
Yes, it can. It's called THE GYM. Physical labour is just chores, that gives you suboptimal results for more effort requires. It's task you have to accomplish, not task to build your body. It's simple math.
@@emperortohellwithyou9850 you’ve never experience farm strong then. @@hnorrstrom Ah ha. I am from France. And in my region, Alsace, it is part of our culture to tease in a gentle way and joke with people we don’t necessarily know. It is a funny and friendly part of our culture. I thought what the workers said was in adequacy with this mindset. The bodybuilder (the one who was talking the most), however, were more scoffing than teasing. Of course I understand it is part of the entertainment, in my opinion, he was more rude than funny. It is true than the other bodybuilder were more moderate in their words.
@@Alsacienne_d_AlsaceThat's quite funny, because here in Sweden I work for the french aluminium build system company Norcan based in Hagenau. So I have met some people from that area. The construction guys reminds me of my dad back In his mid to late 40's guy never worked out but made lifting weights and outworking younger guys look easy
Some blue collar workers are unbelievably strong. I'm an engineer and was once on a job site that required a 1,100lb I-beam being moved 106ft up a 55 degree incline of loose gravel. My team and I were getting the infrastructure in place to bring in the necessary equipment for a hoist and pulley system that would drag the steel up the hill. The foreman informed us that this wasn't necessary, and made a phone call. A few mins later a man walked into the trailer office who resembled a juiced up silverback gorilla. He introduced himself as Mike and told us it would be no problem to get the job done. Mike and one of his almost equally large co workers got this I-beam on a sled they had improvised from some welded metal plate, attached cable and looped it over their waists and shoulders. They then proceeded to walk/crawl it up the hill to the top. When you understand the math involved in pulling that off, it is awe inspiring.
Dude I was once trying to load a dead car made in the 60s onto a car trailer because my boss had sold it and it was fighting me bad.the wheels were locked up tyres dry rotted and everything she was stuck as could be and weighted almost 2 ton I was just stuck. So the guy gets there and he's enormous and in talking bigger than a double door smart fridge he was huge and his mate that was with him was equally enormous. I told him my problem I was having and no word of a lie he looks at me and goes why did you just pick it up and I'm like I don't have a fork lift? Next thing him and his friend walk over to it and simply pick the front up drag it to the trailer and rest the front on it,then they walk to the rear and lift the thing off the ground and just push it on.i was in disbelief I'm decently strong and have worked with cars my entire life,I have never seen anyone do that and I haven't seen it happen since if I never witnessed it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it.
Well it's in the name body builders. It's aestgeics first then strength I'd like to see Powerlifters (who people think body builders are) vs these guys
Body builders are also actually strong even if the are not specialized to strength. Also you just reveal your ignorance and that you have never been at a site that you think these are your average construction workers.
Why give props for getting on stage wearing nothing but a thong? Especially since the only purpose is to satisfy his ego. Also, did you see how much he struggled on 365? There was no way he was hitting 405. Using his homoerotic strip show as an excuse was just that: an excuse.
Just the other day I saw these skinny small Latino construction workers lifting 12 ft long 2x12 boards while holding them from one end.Construction workers are stronger.
Construction workers don’t get to choose when they wanna workout, that’s their job and their life and they depend on it as an income while bodybuilders can decide to skip a day or two or train only certain parts of their body
alot of them have unhealthy lifestyles though this might just be a uk thing but every time iv worked on site nearly all of them were coke addicts/and or alcoholics and diet is greasy fried foods still strong as fuck but thats about it every other part of them was unhealthy
It’s crazy when you think about the fact that the body builders are probably on the best nutrition and diet as possible, maybe also on juice, while the construction workers live on cigarettes and beer😂
The problem is bodybuilding is less about building the body and more about building the look. Nothing beats strength through pure work where your focus isn’t on looks, it’s on getting the job done.
@@Ascendment A body builder can also be a construction worker by that logic. This is not a representation of construction workers despite all the boomer handy men in the comments glazing all over these people. They built 90% of their strength in the gym lmao.

@@Tom-hr1cmYour argument is so ignorant. You are saying construction workers don’t “work” because of machinery they operate instead of by hand. I have read your last other comment said that mail man work “harder”. I can say the same about mail man that they don’t “work” because they drive a mail truck instead of walking on foot because they can drive from point A to point B less than 40 minutes compared to walking. Your argument is just stupid. And besides, construction workers don’t block traffic all day, do you want to have better road conditions while driving or not? So that is why they block temporary. And plus, you are living inside a house built by construction workers, why not you just go live outside then if that is what makes you happy.
A think a full 16 hour day of pouring concrete with a wheelbarrow, moving ladders, scaffolding, climbing up and down ladders with heavy tool bags and moving equipment and some Jack Hammering would destroy everyone of those body builders. My old man was 6’4” weighed 185 and a general laborer for 37 years. I know for a fact those big pretty muscles wouldn’t stand the test.
We have a new fella on the assembly line who's a body builder. He's had a hard first week.😂 I've got a couple of tasks in my area I can't wait to get him to try.😂😂😂
Lol, I worked with my city's water and sewer company for a few months. We had one dude who would lift the portable generators for the sump pumps one handed. Dude might have also gone to the gym some, but most of his strength was pure I do this stuff daily for a living
No about how he started it's the fact he didn't use all the saw, he looked like someone who's never used 1 before but he probably uses powertools for everything.@user-ch7dd1uj9v
Last guy just came to the event, deadlifted all the plates, then proceeds to bend a 100kg bar. All while silent, and just walks away. For him, it was just another tuesday.
without him the construction workers would not have won. But to be frank, he's also very clearly the only one that legit works out. came prepared with his own belt.
That was very enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the fact that they all laughed not only at each other, but with each other. That is the true definition of sporting
Which is all the summation everyone needs. My dad had a colleague who was the body-building type, shorter guy, but with huge muscles, had a regiment...etc. When it came to them carrying equipment up and down just 2 stories, he was gasping for air, after a few rounds, when everyone else visibly not even half his size in muscles was still going.
@@MattHunX This sounds more like an endurance issue than a strength one, but it could be both. Just based on the example you gave it seems more like an endurance issue.
This is interesting.. what farm do you work on? Ive done farm work and it was mostly operating machines and that was 5 years ago .... The manual labour we did do was more endurance training as it was the equivalent of very high reps i.e plowing a field or shoveling shite. Light weight, many reps
Cool story, I guarantee I can deadlift more than you. All those old Asian guys at the grocery store were farmers back home, how come they aren't strong? Farming don't make you strong, otherwise every Mexican or Vietnamese or Cambodian guy would be tall and strong which they aren't.

Yeah idk how they had him go up against two dudes.
He even did an extra lift while they were switching guys, and apparently he already bent that gold bar in a previous shot anyway, which they showed afterwards, so it was already over before they even started.
Maybe they tried to get him tired enough to not be able to bend the gold bar anymore, and manipulate a draw out of that.
Back in the day, there was a term called farm strong. You had the guys who worked out in the gym and played sports, but you had the other kids who grew up doing physical labor and work, and nothing can replicate that strength.
gotta make hay while the sun shines
Yes, it can. It's called THE GYM.
Physical labour is just chores, that gives you suboptimal results for more effort requires. It's task you have to accomplish, not task to build your body.
It's simple math.
Farm kids also learned how to be self-sufficient so excelled as mechanics and engineers.
@@emperortohellwithyou9850 you’ve never experience farm strong then. I was on my powerlifting team in high school, I had friends who never spent a day in the gym, they grew up working and working hard with physical labor, and they had a strength that you could not get in the gym. I’m not talking about supplements, I’m talking specifically about lifting weights and exercise.people who go to the gym, go there because they enjoy it, it’s a lifestyle. But those young guys who grew up on those farms, that’s life. I’m not saying guys who go to the gym can’t be strong, but what I am saying is, there’s guys out there who can be just as strong and never step foot in the gym

This comment 🤣
Back in the days you'd have oxen for this. Now you let some buff blokes do it for the same pay.
55 degree incline is crazy. Are you sure? Not sure the boots can provide enough grip for such an incline with half a ton in tow
