This open hip yoga fixes my backache without fail so far. I spent thousands of $s buying all those mattresses, pillows etc to get rid of my backaches, but trying this video for a few times and I am pain free. I just need to do this a couple times a week for adjustments. Thank you for this wonderful video.

After doing this routine for at least a year now, a couple times a week usually, I've really improved and never noticed how extremely tight my legs and hips were. This has helped my sciatic nerve pain in my left leg also. I feel it pinch and pop in place from the pigeon pose especially. It's really helped fix me :o

This is great. I have been doing the three basic ones for some time now but this video I viewed about 10 months ago and just couldn't do it at all. I've now done my first run through and I am able to do moves I never would have dreamed of. Thank you!

Love this sequence. I replace compass pose with shoelace though so I don’t hyperextend and end up with yoga butt (pain in the deep under hip from over stretch) since I do yoga daily. For those who say it’s too fast, I think it’s meant more for telling you a sequence then you do it in your own in your own timing (she says things like “you can stay here for 10 breaths or 20 breathes and when you’re ready to come out you…”

thanks for sharing all this yoga! I tried another instructor and I started to get a tight hip...the Strala yoga is really helping it all loosen up!

I finally managed to master the final pose, the compass one if i am not mistaken. I did it yesterday after 2 months of practice :) Even with my left leg (which suffers from extra stiffnes due to an injury). I am so happy :)

Tank you Tara, another great video. It felt like it could have worked even better with a short warm - up sequence before starting with the streches. Maybe suggest doing some sun salutations for beginners could optimize the experience? Namaste

thanks for the tip. yeah, i'm still working on it and trying to strengthen other muscles that are weak. my theory is that due to my anterior pelvic tilt it's cause me to use more of my hip flexors and TFL and ultimately caused more muscle bulk, so perhaps correcting my posture and stretching will help my slim that area down with time. i can only hope

I have lots of hip pain, so I need to stretch regularly. This will be my new daily stretch routine. I just wish it was a little slower. I felt a bit rushed. I'll probably keep my keyboard nearby so I can pause it whenever I want to stay in a pose longer.

You can change the speed of the video to play at half the speed or 1/4 the speed if you click the gear that's near the full screen button at the bottom of the video. It has a speed option that can go faster or slower. The slow motion can be off-putting but can be helpful if you find her moving too fast.

Sit on a folded blanket or place a yoga block or folded blanket under the top knee to support it (on the bottom foot). If you still have pain try placing a block or blanket under the bottom knee. Let me know if that helps.

I reckon the elongation in yoga and Pilates would definitely help! I would assume most other work outs would increase mass of muscle rather than lengthen muscle - not that lengthening muscle decreases mass but it should definitely improve appearance. Maybe also working on surrounding muscles like obliques would improve the proportion?

  • @glttrbby

i'm wondering if yoga can decrease the size of your muscle? i unfortunately pretty large Tensor Fascia Latae which ultimately make it look like i have childbearing hips even though i'm a male. i don't really have much body fat and I can tell that it's just muscle in my hips, so i'm wondering if these hips stretches can elongate them and make them appear a lot smaller? if not, do u know if there's some exercise i could do? it's quite depressing having big hips and is a huge insecurity of mine

  • @RawrRiza
    @RawrRiza 11 ปีที่แล้ว

I have hip dysplasia too and do these, and while everyone is different so you should really talk to a chiropractor or doctor, these make my hips fee fine, and I feel like they help with it.

Just start softly and carefully, deepen the poses once you feel that your are getting warmed up. As always, if something hurts or feels 'wrong', stop doing it. :)

here's a few things for treating tight hip flexors naturally
Gradually start walking further per day
    Try an anti-inflammatory diet
    Consider starting yoga lessons
    Lookup some online guides
(I learned these and why they work on Fergs pain ease website )

I’ve been following along with her videos for a few years so I can finally keep up but at first it was so laughable I emailed the producers of the show she was on (and I was paying for) to please find a different yoga instructor 😂
