"all edges must be on a stud". But you didn't do that?

What type of board would be most suitable for laying onto a chipboard floor? A cement board like no more ply or something like this foam core board? Thanks.

After fixing the 10mm boards to stud wall as shown in the video, do I need to tape the joints before tiling?

Hi, do you reccomend SBR on top of backer before tiling even if surface is clean? Or can tile direct on top of backer? Thanks

Hi. When using the insulations type boards such as our Professional Tile Backing Boards shown in this video there is no need to prime the surface with SBR. It is important to make sure the surface is clean and 100% dust-free before tiling.
If you are using a solid fibre cement tile backing board such as STS Construction board or similar it is best to apply a coat of SBR mixed 3:1 with water to ensure the surface is dust-free and the tile adhesive adheres to it properly.
I trust this helps answer your question. For more answers and information, you can visit www.sts-uk.com and talk to one of our technical specialists on our live chat function or call us on 0113 2022010.

@@stslimited9160 STS, Hi, thank you for doing the video but as mentioned by some of the other comments, it is far from helpful.. You mention that you must have stud work on each edge, but the video (and many other videos on TH-cam ) show installers not doing this. if you are going to supply an official video, you are best putting some more thought into it sorry. The voice is mumbled. The screws and washers (crossing) are messy. Really expect better sorry. Better training and guidance on what and what not to do = more sales
