- GoPro Max issues explained and changing to Insta360. I had used the GoPro Max for almost year before giving up on it due to system malfunctions and switched to using the Insta360 X3 camera.

WOW!!! Very good video. I am a Nikon guy but good luck with that on a bike. Go Pro was the system I was intending to purchase but after this video my plans have changed to Insta360 X3. Thanks for doing this.

I’m about to start shooting motorcycle content, so def go with a 360? How are they if you want to mount it to the front of your helmet for the 1st person pov? Also, they are better for editing? Great content btw! You got a new sub right here!

I stumbled on this post tonight as I researched the GoPro. I just returned my X3 after a week full of freezes, lost and corrupted footage, no help from the company other than lame questions, and wanting something better. I had no luck with the X3.
Weird…I guess I got lucky with the X3 and hopefully you’ll get lucky with the GoPro 🤣
@Andrew Hartsock could you share your settings for shooting and your workflow for reframing and exporting this footage? This footage is some of the best I've seen from any youtuber using the X3. Often, I feel like the youtuber just wants to give a brief rundown on the capabilities and functions of the camera. They don't put much time and effort into producing the best looking video that the camera can produce. Many times they just use stock settings on the mobile app.
I had pretty good results from my One X2 using the desktop app and other video editing software such as DaVinci resolve.
So it’s basically all a damn gamble! 🤨
@@Ishbikes I'll update my experience. I had no love for the GoPro either. Constant issues. I decided to go back and buy a new Insta to give it another shot. I've been using that one now with no problems at all. Maybe the first one I received was a bad one, but I've regularly used this different one with no issues.
Hi there, i just come across your video while searching for solution on my Insta360 , i just buy it 3 months ago and i only have problems, no responding , freeze and so on, i make video on TH-cam never experienced anything like that with the GoPro 10 , so my question is, can it be that some device just come out of factory not functioning properly mmmm i really wonder because the few video i get to manage to get out of the Insta360 x3 are looking so amazing, i wish all the footage were always good and not corrupt also for some reasons my camera constantly disconnects from my iPad while editing videos on the Insta360 app. Thank you for sharing , great video.

I’ve been using the GoPro Max for about a year and a half and generated dozens of action videos that I’ve posted on my TH-cam channel and on fb. I haven’t had any of the problems that you describe. I own 4 GoPro Max cameras. Love ‘em!
i m scared to buy it now.. but i need one camera taht i can use on helmet to.. insta 360 is to long for me what to do
@@aressimbamt0959 Perhaps I’ve been lucky. Or others have been unlikely.
Sounds like the problems with GoPro Max is real. And it can be a real heart breaker when a magnificent shot is missed because of a malfunction of the camera.
You do have to be very careful not to damage the lenses. So easy to scratch them. I dropped my GoPro Max and it cracked a lens. Wasn’t hard or expensive to replace.

I have been a GoPro user for >10 years, the only one that disappoints is the Max. I do not have the problems shared in this video but I am always disappointed with the video and phot quality. Too pixelated. So I have never used it online. I shoot in all weathers but what I find is poor even when well lit. I have not switched to Insta360 because (a) I like the GoPro system and a reluctant to add another system to my list and (b) I have to assume I am doing something wrong as I watch multiple clips from others that blow my image quality away. Any ideas would be appreciated. The only significant setting change I have is that I run Protune. Great motorcycling video btw.

I was also a GoPro user from Hero 7 through Hero 10. Like you I had loads of issues with the GoPro not recording, randomly switching off, lost footage and loads of audio problems. I also tried the factory rests and updating the firmware but nothing worked. Eventually after many long hours of emails and telephone calls I convinced GoPro to exchange the Hero 10 (it was like pulling teeth!). I still haven’t bothered using the replacement GoPro due to all the issues I experienced and poor customer service I received.
I switched to Insta360 One X2 and it’s been a revelation, everything just works and the software is great too.
No amount of convincing will ever get me to return to the mess that’s GoPro.
Ever thought about getting the x3?
@@JimyOfficial I did but after watching several reviews, reviewers said there wasn’t much difference between the X2 and X3 so pointless upgrading if you already had the X2.
I’ll probably wait until the next iteration although Insta360 have teased that they’re releasing something new on 27 June and titled it “The tiny revolution”.

@JimyOfficial I love my GoPro max but I've heard the X3 is alot better by multiple people who owned a max. and for the same price. So my advice is to go with the X3
Some of the footage looks photoshopped. Know what I mean ? Is that a problem with 360 recordings?
