I would’ve liked for him to explain in detail, the medications used to treat this condition. He didn’t do that. So are hematologists little more than clerks and recorders?
Ok I only know this bc recently my liver levels were high and my doctor said there are no meds bc that would put more stress on the liver You just gotta eat clean and change your lifestyle like stop drinking and eating bad food and run more
AST 57.00 High 15.00 - 46.00 U/L ALT 90.0 High 11.0 - 66.0 U/L Hey 32 yr Female , I work out 7 days a week have been for a few years , I don't drink alcohol maybe 1-2 a month keep having high AST & ALT should I be concerned ?
I have ALT increased for 7 years now. It is mostly around 70-80 but not constantly, when dieting it decreases to cca 36-37... Could it be a fatty liver? I did immunological tests - all negative, no viruses. But cholestrol high, LDL is as high as total cholesterol highest normal level
Hi Dr Khalid, first of all nice to see a UK doctor explaining fatty liver etc, i scored 55 on my first blood test (normal 35-50) which they classed as borderline, second 2 weeks later i scored 58 which is slightly abnormal, all other results normal, should i be concerned? I had an ultrasound which was clear and stated "smooth homogeneous echotexture" but i was diagnosed with Mild Hepatic Steatosis, im not over weight, 34 years old and no other health conditions, i also don't drink much but since this have gone completely tea total, i have an active full time job but will also excercise more and eat better, should i be at all concerned as its caused me severe health anxiety and i keep thinking im going to need a liver transplant or die, sounds crazy but doctors not interested in helping me, any advice would be massively appreciated
Day 1 .. mine t billirubin 1.22 ast 73 alt 34.33 Day 18.. t billirubin 1.00 ast 43 alt 63. I wasn't sleep before the night of test .. also i was stressed and eating junk food. Bmi 22.5. age 27
Question: I am in Canada and my ALT just came back at 41, The past couple of months i have changed my diet and started exercising everyday. My cholesteraol is at 7.2 I feel great and have had many tests done over the past few years and have been tested for abssolutely everything. I do not drink anymore, I know i will have to take meds for the cholesterol. My AST is in normal range. Should i be very worried? I have not seen the DR yet about my results will be seeing them in the next few weeks but my mind is racing
Mine is 66 the doctor told me to do another test in 3 months I would drink 3 pints of beer a day now I have stopped do you think it will be ok to have just 3 pints of beer on a Saturday
I’m been trying to get that answer for a year now. Last year I was same, now it’s low 200’s. One doctor is worried while the gastroenterologist who took my liver biopsy says I’ll live a long life… go figure
New sub; love the analogies and the concise way you explain things!

Thanks Kitty

most of the time it will be fatty liver, but if it remains high - usually I send pts for an Ultrasound scan can diagnose this

I give up. I'll find a different video that isn't trying to do stand-up comedy.
