Today, I’m going to cover the best foods to clean the liver.
Many people think the liver stores toxins. But, it doesn’t normally store toxins-it gets rid of toxins. However, toxins are stored in fat cells, so if you have a fatty liver, you could have toxins stored in your liver.
The liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate quickly. If about 25% of your liver is still healthy, and you change your ways, you can potentially regenerate your liver. But, keep in mind there is a point of no return.
    Important functions of the liver:
    • It helps detoxify the body
    • It makes bile
    • It makes certain hormones
    • It helps regulate excess hormones
    Symptoms of poor liver function:

    • Fried foods
    • Combing sugar and protein
    • Combining meat and starch
    • Excess cooked foods or canned foods
    • Alcohol

I've started eating salads six days a week. This week, I've started eating Caesar salads with homemade Caesar salad dressing, which contains EVOO, MCT oil, ACV, lemon juice, lemon zest, anchovies, garlic, egg yolks, Dijon mustard, sundried tomatoes, basil pesto, and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. It's so good, and I'm still consistently losing weight! I'm down 60 lbs in just under 5 months!

Dear Dr. Berg. I had a fatty liver that was affecting my thyroid levels and I started loosing skin color, created by white patches, also known as Vitiligo. The vitiligo spread to both hands and my groin area. At first I went go see a skin doctor, then I was referred to my general doctor to check my thyroid. I also had neck pains and visited the chiropractor. SURPRISINGLY, it was your video regarding the cleansing of a fatty liver that help me removed the white spots on my hand and reduced it by 50%. I lost 20 pounds eventually, gain energy and the neck pains were gone. Please let me know where I can send you photos of my hand. Vitiligo doesn't really have a cure and I believe a lot of people are not aware that it all starts at the liver. I had used multiple creams, with no results, even my skin doctor is surprised.... Thank you for all your help. Elkin Cabrera

I have to tell you that your information has improved my health drastically. I had severe intestinal issues that prevented me from working full time. My job was stressful due to the way it was operated, so Cortosal was an issue. My first Dr appointment they sent me home with an anacid & antidepressent. I don't like pills. Also I have just about every other detriment you've listed as being a deterrent to weight lost , Post Menapasal , I had Thyroid Cancer at 18 y/o old & my gallbladder removed in 2019 at age 63. I still felt terrible; after the gallbladder surgery & everyone around me just said it was part of getting old. I stumbled across your videos & Oh Boy did the education you provide change my life. I started Keto around the 1st of July. I feel fantastic I lost 21 lbs of fat, I enjoy cooking for the 1st time in my life. I introduced Intermittent fasting in August after learning more about & comprehending blood test results. I know that the glucose in my blood was high after having given up bread , rice & noodles 10 years ago & still I suffered and gained weight even though I thought I had removed all my carbs. The ones I hadn't addressed until June (because I didn't check, due to denial) I was a nonfat milkaholic. I consumed 2 gallons of non-fat milk every week. That is 416 carbs now add the graham crackers that I used to soak of that constant acid and satisfy my constant hunger for another 624 carbs. Also I was instructed that in order to help with my constipation I should consume a bowl of steel cut oats with fruit, for another 217 carbs. That was 159 carbs over my 20 allowed in a day. They have been other addictions that I shed along my way to a much healthier productive lifestyle. I just want to thank you so very much. I got rid of those prescribed medicines after a month because as I shared with my Doctor I don't trust Big Pharma & don't believe they have my best interests at heart. I've seen all the smears, & man you must be pure because such lame smears they were. I think you've done a great job & contributed so much wonderful essential information. I can't afford your gallbladder supplements but my Daughter just ordered some for me because I do have the sludgey bile & I can't wait to see the improvement once I'm able to process those fat soluble vitamins & minerals. I just wish I would have asked my Daughter sooner. I go to the Doctor on Monday & I am excited to see the difference in my blood. Thank you again, I wish I had more to contribute than my obvious gratitude and admiration of your contribution to this crazy world.

As someone who suffered for years from long-standing liver and gallbladder dysfunction, I now eat all these foods regularly and avoid sugar (including most fruit), avoid all plant seed oils, processed foods, and insulinemic foods. I eat mainly high-fat beef steak and vegetables (steamed or fried in animal fats like tallow) and feel great again. I believe that supplementing daily with a high quality B-Complex (containing Choline, Benfotiamine, and Methylcobalamin), Betaine-HCL, TUDCA, Vitamin D3 (with K2), and Cod Liver Oil has also helped to restore my liver function to optimal levels. I chose my PCP because the first thing he said to me five years ago at our first visit was …. You are too fat!!! I gave out a sigh of relief. 😂 He was surprised that I didn’t get angry.

AS I've said in prior videos, Thank you! I am 2 months into keto diet.... clean one. I started with just meat all organic farm raised no corn or antibiotics. My 25 yr.old daughter has been eating 5 times a week with me. We both only eat one meal for last 14 days with cabbage or broccoli and 6 oz of meat and half of a cauliflower roasted no real starch. Watrr, tea no sugar coffee black and tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, tea combo 2 times a day. Also the c,d,zinc, magnisum, codliveroil, and b vitamins. I add Clove to my teas, for hot flashes. She started a regular cycle for first time in 8 months. And my feet and side are no longer hurting. Thankyou. Thank you thank you

Avoid non nutritional filler- does it contain vitamins and minerals? No?
Its non nutritional filler and is the same as adding muddy water to your gasoline.
Processed food (means that literally, toxic stuff has been added while nutrition has been removed) and food removed more than one step from it's harvested state.
If it doesn't fit these categories, then it's likely to be ok to consume.
Beer, hfcs sugary sodas, carbs, confections, drugs, prepackaged stuff like sandwich meat hotdogs, meat from a can, store bought milk, psuedo juice drinks, fake cheeses= non foods= takes more or close to more energy to digest than what's obtained.
The rest has varying degrees of benefits but generally isn't outright detrimental - exceptions being nutritious food infused with poisons. Thank Codex Alimentarius for allowing forever chemicals to be used around our food products again 😒
Clean unfloridated well water, properly handled raw milk from a happy cow fed on grass, juice straight from the fruit makes for a happy gut.
All of which I've done, none of which ive done in the last 2 Year's and 100% why I'm laying around watching tv now, thinking about my liver and feeling like a loaded crap vessel, instead of participating in real life...🤦🏼‍♂️

I have had constipation for years. I literally can check off every symptom for a bad liver, including edema now. I went to the doctors so many times regarding this. I had one doctor that told me to just eat tons of cream of wheat. Then I had another that said I just need to lower my cholesterol. I showed them my swollen ankles, told them about pain in my lower back and pain on the front right side near my belly button. I told them about my itchy skin and how my I was losing my hair. Not one doctor mentioned anything about my liver. When I told the doctor about my constant of constipation, they gave me a medication that was supposed to encourage me to go. I need to change my life immediately.

Hello dear change of diet is the beat. I had cholesterol but didn't know that my liver was affected. Used to feel nausea, instead of belching I used to fart alot, anytime any where. My sight was affected. I started eating too much and urinating too much, suddenly I checked my sugar and found it was high. Am not diabetic, but fasting was 12.0mmols! I started on diet and wishing 2 weeks I felt better. No more farting, clear vision,no nausea, alot more has changed. So dieting is the way to go. All swelling and pain will go. All the best.

This is good advice. My mom's liver failure was caught very late. Controlling her diet was key to giving her some good years during her last few. I can tell you that if you take a lot of Tylenol, have diabetes or crave sweets and eat mostly processed food - YOU NEED TO CONSIDER your LIVER. Liver failure is a really bad illness to confront and alcohol is not its only cause. You change your trajectory easily if you look after yourself early.

    Dr. Berg
I will be 76 in a few days. I retired at age 70 and 3 months later found I had stage 4 colorectal cancer. I also had a extremely large tumor around my left kidney and that type of cancer I can't pronounce but did not respond to treatment so they had to get it all the first time. Luckily they did get it all. After the smoke settled I was left with one kidney and an ostomy bag At about three years through my chemo treatments I had to have my gal bladder removed. After almost 5 years and 107 chemo therapy treatments I am still here. I quit the chemo about 6 months ago and am in observation mode now with no cancer at this time I was told it could come back at anytime but so far so good.
I have been watching your videos for some time now and recently heard you mention how bile works but I have no gall bladder so I guess I don't digest fats very well. I also have slid into type 2 diabetes along with everything else. It would be great if you could someday do a video with more information to help us who have no gall bladder. Possible supplements?? I am also on blood thinner (Eliquis) so I may have reactions to some drugs or supplements.
    Thanks, Dennis

I like to grate raw beets and mix them with shredded red cabbage to make fermented red sauerkraut. Also, I mix canned salmon with canned cod liver, add hard cooked eggs and avocado mayo to put on my raw green salad. 😊

Dr Berg is a life saver, thanks for all you do for our health. Liver health is crucial for overall health. Green leafy veggies are important for a healthy diet. They are high in vitamins, minerals and fibre while also being low in calories. I love to consume these greens in form of salads, green smoothies and juices. These foods can help us look and feel younger, as well as age gracefully. Also lots of people drink coffee everyday to help rev them up in the morning.

I suffered for 2 years with a bad gall bladder. I had every symptom of gall bladder disease. I live in a very small rural community and most of the doctors here, well let's say; it's not Houston, but we do have a small hospital, which is a plus. They have very good, caring nurses. It took 5 hida scans before the duct was blocked and I could get it taken out. They sent me to Hermann in Houston, but I really suffered and I got up and went to school to teach . My gall bladder was full of bile sludge! That "ordeal" was the beginning of the end of my good health. I've been taking D3 with K2 and magnesium for years because I taught 4 year olds and they were always sickkkkk!

I must add... High ALT and high AST are often times not cause for concern if you're lifting weights. When you shred muscle, those enzymes are secreted from your muscles. I had a scare from an ER Doc once upon a time. She suggested a biopsy despite knowing I was lifting weights Mon-Fri for approximately 2 hours each day. Jerry Brainum published a video that showed me the way. Watched it the following day. I was so relieved to learn that. My liver is fine, and the Doc should've known this.
