How exciting was that for you two? All your Chritmas' come at once. Say it again, people can be very , very kind and you deserve it. Lots o'love back Simone! Looking forward to tomorrow's installment.
OMG... I don't know where to start. I'm so happy for you guys, you really deserve this ...and major kudos to TheHomeMag and Vetus SA for making it happen. You guys have the engineering skills an production talent to make the installation of these puppies a great reference for other DIY cruisers. I can't wait to share the coming episodes with friends working on similar projects. You guys ROCK! Again... Thank you The HomeMag and Vetus South Africa from a DIY sailor and Lady South Africa fan.

I am hoping and praying you will get her in the water before the end of the year, just in time for summer to start and your shakedown cruise. Love you guys, Blessings and have a great weekend!!!!
Frikken YEAH!!!! You guys have a completely renewed energy now, bouncing off the walls with excitement! You both deserve this incredible gift, carry the energy through the next few vids before the bottom gets splashed!
so glad this happened to you , a great reward for all your sweat dedecation and hard work , And bravo to vetus for choosing these two to help get their product out there
It's only a matter of time until I start my own project and get on the water. Didn't know much about vetus but these guys look serious. Definitely some food for thought.
@@livingwiththemaias 3 cylinder engines, and other odd number cylinder engines, are very smooth, smoother than the usual even # cylinder engines! I am sure that you will love them! And no doubt Ricky knows this! I have an ISUZU 33HP, 3 cylinder engine in Mistress and it is SUCH a smooth and great engine! Yet to be run in the water of course,... once Mistress is launched,.... and one day we will sail in to South African ports! 🙂⛵
Vetus have been around a long time , at least 40 + years , lots of experience and generally a good reputation. Dutch based company , well organized. I think these 2&3 cyl engines are Mitsubishi based which are great base engines. Been used for a long time for marine engines .I do hope you parked the van somewhere secure overnight! Cheers Warren
Looking forward to seeing them installed! Simone, I'm surprised that you didn't have to drive back...I was sure that Ricky would be on top of the engines the whole way. 🤣
Your hard work and loving personalities have paid off. It’s wonderful to see so many expressing their appreciation. I can honestly say I never considered Vetus as a power source or parts supplier, but will now. Thanks to your financial backers, Vetus and patrons that helped keep their dream .
I'm posting this comment while the ads are playing. If you're like me and like this guys so much that you'd like to support them a little more than just watching and liking their videos but you can't afford it, than just don't skip the ads like me! ;)
Wow! Yall have alot of good luck! Lots of hard work ahead. Verything else is looking awsome so i cant wait to see those engine bays!! What are your plans for props?
Awesome engine setup you guys got there!!! You have been spoiled!! :-) ;-) Those engines will las you a long long time!! Hats of to Vetus and Tha Home Mag Utah for supporting you guys in such a big way!!! Oh and Vetus needs to change one of their boxes… Because what is a fEUL filter??? I think the box should say fUEL filter.... :-) ;-) (see 13:17 min) I am so stoked for you folks!!!! Now get back to building!! ;-) ;-) Whe like to see those puppy's run!!! :-D :-D

So happy for you guys! Congratulations! Lady Africa is coming together, and I can’t think of a more deserving couple.. dreams can come true. Kindness regards Trev.
very nice bits of kit, should give you good service and fairly economical to run. probably too late as you will have installed them now but it is worth pulling the heat exchanger tube stacks and give the o'rings, and bolts some tefgel then re-assembling to avoid corrosion and difficulty in the future when you need to clean them. also if the engines did not come equipped with electrical isolation as per SOLAS regs for aluminium vessels it would be worth fitting solenoids on the pos and neg battery cables to isolate the sail drives from stray electrical currents when not in use.
I'm thrilled for you guys! I'm also thrilled that you are finally getting a life raft. That was concerning for a while lol. Don't let up now. You really can see the light at the end of the tunnel now...
I like the extra cooling provided for the engines. I cannot figure out what engine Vetus is based on. For sourcing of parts and if it’s HPCR or not. Can an engine max RPM be reduced (at loss of some HP) in order to turn an oversized Prop?
so after more than two years .... how is your experience with the M3-29 ? What were the problems if any ? How has Vetus service and communication been when needed ? Are you still happy with your choice ? (asking because I ordered one of these and so far communication has been extremely difficult)
