  • With power up to 10 kW, the VETUS E-Drive systems can power displacements boats up to about 13 meters in length. All electric drives are quiet, offer immediate thrust and easy operation. The VETUS E-DRIVES are unique because of their plug-and-play network installation, monitoring options and efficiency.

    Nice video, I installed another brand in a friends sailboat as in Belgium Vetus refused to give info or sell the e-line. Vetus in the Netherlands refused to sell as he needed to contact Vetus Belgium. Still, seems like you have a nice product. 😉

    You could put the pod where the rudder is and steer with the pod.

    Hi I'm looking for an electronic propulsion system for a small 10 by 4.2 feet fiberglass lapstrake dinghy. I'm looking for something with no propellers like the one in the Zerojet manufactured in New Zealand. Is there such a thing out there or a company you can think of? Love the video. Thanks in advance

    We are looking for a replacement on our 70’ catamaran. Which currently has 165hp each side. Would that be 100kwH?

    Geen bereik en storingsgevoelig .
    Een diesel op GTL is storingsvrij en beter voor het milieu.
    Kost ook maar een fractie.

    Is there a way to get a motor close to 6.2 gas engines to run 213 Hamilton jets

    • @Real_Tim_S
      @Real_Tim_S ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you asking to replace a 6.2 or suplement?

      @@Real_Tim_S replace 6.2

    • @Real_Tim_S
      @Real_Tim_S ปีที่แล้ว

      @@r.b.s.project4631 I wouldn't recommend it, Hamilton jets are power-hungry and need high continuous power. Gasoline or diesel is going to take less space (fuel) and the amount of battiers you're going to need to match what endurance your boat can do now will be eye-watering (both weight and cost).

      @Tim S thank you.
      Will it work to put generator and run electric motors of the generator instead of batteries

    • @Real_Tim_S
      @Real_Tim_S ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@r.b.s.project4631 Every conversion step is a loss in efficiency (about ~80-90% efficient, loss of 10-20%), I would not recommend that. By the time you go mechanical to electric and back to mechanical you're losing between 19-36% of all the original mechanical power you generated. A shaft is effectively 99%+ efficient.
      If you use very high efficiency motors (high-voltage-hairpin roughly 95-98% efficient), the motors and controllers are going to set you back about $60k-USD per engine+drive. And you'd still need to integrate them (or pay someone to do that).
      There's a reason that no-one has mass produced high power electric boat with jet-drives to date. It's not economically viable.

    Why is everyone doing "full electric"!!!!!???
    There is no range!
    Why aren't there more hybrid options?
    Also, why can't these videos discuss hybrid v. battery hook up, and discuss price.
