Imagine being able to write stuff as fresh and funny as Yumi, then being able to deliver it with such point-perfect timing, all in a language whose cadence is as different from your native tongue as English is from Japanese. Now imagine making it look and sound so easy and natural, and appreciate her skills even more.
It's definitely funny--but listen to the part when she's asking the person's name then apologizes. She slips out of character for a moment and drops the accent. Throughout her comedy, she's emphasizing her old accent for comedic effect, it's not really how she still talks. As she said, she's westernized. But I'm not detracting from her at all, it's still hilarious and impressive. She has the terrific insight, wry wisdom, vulnerability and timing that a great comic needs.
As an American guy that has worked in Japanese companies in the US for over 25 years, Yumi is SO skilled at taking advantage of stereotypes that it is really especially hilarious for me.

Also, there are specific stereotypes (not general stereotypes) related to work culture of such companies which keep circulating. Only a worker who has experienced these things can relate to that.
