      I can't boot with the XMP profile with 64gb x4 sticks, I just bootloop, might wait a few bios updates to see if it gets fixed im using a Prime z790-a WIFI. However I can boot with x2 sticks with XMP.. I tried a fix video to alter the xmp profile but it did not work. and this is at 5600 speed

      @@D4RKMA7TER I finally got mine to run in dual channel (2 sticks of 32, but I had to use different slots than was recommended) and yes it’s still dual channel. I understand the XMP profile has been an issue as well. I’m not running in xmp as just getting the system stable was key. Seems fine now. 13900k and 4090. I use this one for forensic rendering. I think it’s an issue of waiting for the software and bios to catch up….

      The latest update is that things have been clearing up with the BIOS updates and definitely have been getting better. I would highly recommended doing a bios update before you enable the Intel XMP or AMD EXPO. This will get you the best results! Let me know if you have any issues on the build, happy to help!

    Yep, MSI MPG z790 motherboard, excellent board. Just upgraded from 64 to 128 and after 3 days of BS, found out that all I needed to do is flash my BIOS/ Update it and realize that even though I purchased 6000MHz, not gonna happen. but I am happy with the results because now my $4000 PC boots in 36 sec. I have over 200 Steam games and the high demanding graphical games like RDR2, CyberPunk 2024, hell at first Ghost of Tsushima would not even open due to lack of memory and I am running a RTX 4090 24GB, 64 RAM.
    So, now I allocate 64RAM to virtual for gaming and max all my games out, unless they don't look good maxed. Smooth as butter.
    So, the verdict... you can OC and do whatever you want in the BIOS and make your retail memory run at the purchased MHz or invest in a descent motherboard that will allow the RAM to function properly. I am retired and just said the hell with it, you can have a nice PC for less. I have a laptop that runs fine as well, $2800. BIOS Flash

      Yes it is possible if you know how to adjust the timings in your bios, but 99% of people building today are looking to click their Intel XMP or AMD Expo profiles and call it a day which does not work well if at all when running 4 sticks.

    Great video but Quad Channel is not very common on consumer motherboards, mostly its seen on servers/workstations motherboards maybe instead of mentioning ¨Quad Channel¨ I would use 4 sticks vs 2 sticks of RAM and yes that's the reason I stopped trying to buy another 2 stick DDR5 6000MHz kit to populate all the four slots of my build!!

    Just finished build for MIDI Orchestration: i9-13900KF, MSI Z790 Carbon WiFi, G.Skill Z5 Trident DDR5 128GB (4x32) CL28 5600, annnnnnd.... I have to run at 4000 right now for stability, the MSI BIOS isn't ready yet. No XMP yet, as of 1-15-23. SO, you called it, spot on for now. I lowered it to 5200 and it posted sometimes, so for now, I'll just leave it be. UserBench mark gave it 132% for now, that's fine. Orchestration NEEDS 128GB, no choice really.

    • @empowergamingcomputers
      @empowergamingcomputers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many use case scenarios where 128GB is needed. I am hoping most of the issues get resolved with BIOS updates. Keep an eye on your motherboards manufactures site for BIOS releases. Likely they will provide better stability for the DDR5.
